I love how everyone is debating who was justice, Kira or L, when the only person who wasn't evil at all was Light's father o.O The way I see it, Light was evil (even though he's awesome,) L was a little evil (he was awesome too,) but Soichero didn't have a speck of evil in him. If you've read Tsugumi Ohba's comments from 13, she even says that herself. She also said Death Note is all about deciding things for yourself.

Growing up as a christian, I was raised to give and take second chances to people. As for criminals, they don't deserve to die. If they learn from their mistakes and try to make their own lifes better, I would accept that. If they decide to stay with crime, then they will just be locked up for life, but not killing them.

I've been raised to believe a true "god" only gives and doesn't punish. And in the end, justice will prevail.

@coolperson1145 I don't believe Kira is justice either, but for different reasons, not religious like yours.

I agreed with Light's idea of justice until he began all that Kira crusade, and I finally hated him when he started using the Death Note to kill those who became obstacles to him, even if they were innocent people.

With those actions he showed that he didn't really care about justice, he only cared about gaining power, about becoming a god, he only cared about himself.

As much as i really like Light Yagami I was in the middle, because i couldn't decide where i stood with this controversy, but not even "The Higher Power or God" exterminates criminals. People seem to be doing this themselves. I was leaning towards Light until i realized he might have been killing people under false charges. He also had one too many martyrs.
