The Grand Marja3 has clearly stated that pictures of the Imams are false and forbiden.

Look for Iraqi mosques on youtube videos and you'll see them holding pictures of Hussein and also hung up on the walls. You can see it for yourself. I walked into my firends house and what do I see? A very large picture of one of your recent Imams. I couldnt believe it. You may be one of the few who doesnt idolize a human being, but most do. AND why must u beat yourselves during ashura?

@lebosuck Although I have never seen the pictures in hussainias or homes. I have just read that they are actually permisable to hang these pictures, I was incorrect. There is nothing wrong with hanging them. But they are not worhsiped... They are merely drawn based on written description of the Imams. and kept for sentimental reasons only.

@lebosuck You see man thats where you are confused, loving the prophet and his family is not comparing them to the level of God, it is mearly remembering them, because they are the perfect examples of how a Muslim should behave. They sacreficed all to protect Islam from its enemies. They all died either poisoned or killed because they would not kiss the feet of the kings of their times. They feared only allah, and in that is the example. Follow their example not worship them, thats the message.

To me all Islam is right what people to take as their path beyond the 5 pillars of Islam is their choice, even among sunnis and shia there are differences in view and in thoughts, but we all beleive in one god and mohammed is his last messanger and that is what matters most.
