1 are they easy to use?

That was an actual camera. I believe it was showing how you take pics with a camera then move the SD card from the device.

It's nice to see a different company trying to innovate on the handheld gaming market which has traditionally always been an extreme oligopoly. Additionally, Japan has always dominated this market and it's cool to see a Korean company (GPH) stepping up. I owned the GP32 and it was, in its time, the best handheld for retro emulation; I still use it today to beat old Nintendo games I never finished as a kid.

Well maybe it really is better when it comes to the CPU and so on but what about the games. I haven´t seen any 3d games on it... When the Playstation was out it had to compete against N64 and even Dreamcast. both the N64 and the Dreamcast where better but the games just sucked ass and so Sony won the "game". Even today you can buy a New PSOne for 99€ in the internet. So it´s not about the graphics but about the games. BUT what good games has this handheld?

its bassically a handheld pc running linux so anything that will run on linux or run from a linux emulator it can run doom which is 'fake' 3d it can run duke nukem which is also fake 3d

it can run some other 3d/fake 3d games aswell

with wine you can run any game that will run under wine and that ca nbe run on the specs thsi has

Sucked ass? the Dreamcast had incredible games and so did the N64, the Playstation had "more" games. And the Dreamcast didn't fail because of bad games...it was bad marketing, the stupid sony hype AND the DVD hype people had (a video game console meant to play games wasn't good for them, they wanted a DVD player that could play games as a secondary feature which is ridiculous).

The games for the N64 were very great however the Play Station was the opposite with good graphics but terrible games. Have you even played the N64? I don't think the was a single bad game ever released for the system.

This one is awesome mostly because you can run whatever you want on it since it's totally "open" or "unlocked" if you will. BUT you should wait to get the new one that's coming out next month called the GP2X Wiz...this one came out in 2005 and they stopped making it 3 months ago or so. The Wiz is almost twice as powerful as the PSP and can do much more, and it still uses SD cards which is great.

Don't waste your money, I've been frauded within buying the F-200. The supported features of the Cradle DO NOT WORK. It won't fit in the cradle, and it fails to support the TV-OUT function as well. Also, the firmware takes a long time to load on the F-200. The only thing good about it is that I got it for free, and currently trying to find a good use for it with it's compatibility issues.

2. Every bit of technology you own was made in the Far East (China Korea Taiwan - not Japan). If it was made in Western Europe or North America it would be 8 times the size, cost 10 times as much and it wouldn't work. :)

Your an idiot, for starters a PSP or DS doesnt play any of the thousands of freely available MAME roms. Second neither will play such a wide variety of media files ie try playing a mkv or a xvid video file thats 820x480, YEP your SOL unless you own a GP2X (even the Touch cant play much other than mp4 video files). Third this thing is open source and totally hackable so there are tons of nice little free tools you can install. Forth you can expand the storage capacity.

A touchscreen, new color, new firmware, and this one got D-pad instead of joystick. This one lacks of telnet-support (and might also lack of FTP, Samba support), these might be re-added with new firmware. I have heard that this new firmware (4.0) also boots slower than GP2X F100(Old black version) firmwares. There isn't place for stylus in the machine. There isn't any hardware-upgrades (still same 200MHz CPU, 64Mb RAM) so I think this is very very useless.

you know, I'm not even convinced the GP2X has ever been given a wide launch. To the best of my knowledge it is still effectively a developers release. Perhaps this is the result of that very open development. In which case you can't really knock them. It's not like Sony or Nintendo developed their PSPs or DSs in such an open way.

Gp2x is awesome, aswell as the community which supports it and basically keeps it going.

If you don't like retro - this is not for you. But everyone likes at least SOME retro (prior to playstation, there WERE console before the playstation you know..) the media functions should fill some appetites aswell.

What a system! I can imagine great touch screen games on this like chess, wirelessly, battleships etc. Aswell as communicating wirelessly with a friend by writing on the screen, and having fun editing images by drawing on the screen and draggin on things etc.

Not to mention painting apps, 2d games where you can draw your own sprites or something. This gives homebrew a new edge over the psp homebrew.

Bin mit dem "alten" Gp2x sicher besser dran, ich mag keine Touchscreens mehr. Beim DS ist der mehr als unnötig (gibt meiner Meinung nach nur maximal 10 Spiele, die den Touchscreen sinnvoll ausnutzen), einzig die weiße Farbe und das D-Pad finde ich gelungener als beim GP2x MK2. Naja, was solls.
