  • I think one thing that's important to know about juicing is that plain vegetable juices take a WHILE to get used to...the taste, I mean. Most people use carrots, apples, pears, oranges, etc, to sweeten the vege juice and make it palatable. If you're just juicing greens or green veggies alone, that's going to taste bitter and gross...and maybe make you want to puke, yes. Throw in an apple, a pear, an orange, etc...to balance it out. :)

  • Right on man enjoy life and sharing what makes you happy might make someone else happy that's what life is about, questions answers then trying different things out until people find the one for them, for what ever makes them happy, if it's 10 big meals a day and your slow because your full all the time, then HEY if it makes you happy that all that counts but for people like me I want to be as fast and healthy as I can be..

  • is eating 6 bananas a day cool i feel better but dam it causes some funky smell a few hours later

  • wat is the coconut thing

  • ROCCO!!!!!????? FROM THE BOONDOCK SAINTS?

  • lol! YOUR Great!! and your girlfriend is right you do look better with a bit of facial hair. i know exactly what your talking about with the razor edge of being hungry and full! like, u dont really need anymore, but you kinda want more. it feels so much better too! to stay on that in between edge. i thank god for you brother. i really do. i know we're all equal. i fully BELEIVE that! however, some people really have a way of just cheering you up, and encouraging you, and ... just thank you!!!!!

  • lol! YOUR Great!! and your girlfriend is right you do look better with a bit of facial hair.

  • The little messages of wisdom within are worth far more than a " free juicing recipe".

The thinking in this video has the power to help one's health more than anything conventional medical wisdom has to offer.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. Nature and the kindness of human spirit will reward you. :)

  • You have a beautiful body but the face of a mass murderer.

  • You are totally inspiring, Brother! I think it is time for me to make a MAJOR change, and this is the way I would like to go.

  • He sounded like Spicoli from Fast Times at the beginning. :)

  • What you can do to make the juice more palatable is to get creative. Use bananas to sweeten it or mangoes> it really is so good. Wish you all the best.

  • hi Dan. I love your videos. I eat macrobiotic food, but with time started feeling like i need to simplify things and get some freshness. I think green juices are excellent, and so far don't have any problems with it. And Dan, please....put some shirt on...:)

    ps. pardon my bad english

  • Love your videos, very entertaining! I love the Vitamix recipes. We just got ours and I'm so excited about it. I've already made around 1/2 dozen things in it and it hasn't even been 24 hrs, LOL.

  • original comment-take 2....

lol @ "fairy tail religion b.s." ..but i gotta say that stuff gives me hope too, sorta..

anybody here read "the holographic universe" by michael talbot? good stuff.

  • aww - where's my comment? lol

  • Hi Dan, I have tried to start the drink juice method but my stomach has started to really bother me. I'm assuming it's from starting this new juicing. Does my stomach problem common when starting drink green juices? I don't want to give up on this too early. Thanks... Manny

  • Drink half as much as you have been and see if that helps! Do not give up! This is very common when first starting the juicing! It is a good sign that you need to continue...

  • I take a large bunch of spinich, 2 stalks of celery, 1 whole unpeeled carrot and an apple and blend it in my Blendtec ( its the blender that can chew up a tennis shoe!) with 3/4 c. water.. Then I strain it thru a nutmilk bag (you can get polyester paint strainer bags cheap at the hardware store, too). By removing the fiber (I gets tons of fiber daily) it helps my digestive system not go into "overload". Keep the videos coming!! Eating this way is the way of the future!

  • If he's doing shirtless videos - at least do a few push ups. Just needs a little meat on the chest to look balanced IMO.

  • I can understand how to the average American he would look too skinny, based on what most Americans look like, however he's lean and muscular, he's not skinny. That sure beats fat and chunky any day, Because of his healthy diet he probably has clean breath and body odor too

  • lol you had me smiling the whole vid

  • I don't get it. Skinny - low body fat isn't that hot. He has no muscle. Just low body fat. Doesn't look like he could do 5 pull ups.

  • No no no... Very hot. A clean, non-toxic good smelling natural body. That's the sexiest.

  • You probably don't get it, as many don't; however, fat and chunky is what looks repulsive to most people, not how this guy in this video looks. He's what you call svelte (gracefully lean and slender) Also how old is he? (mid 30's)? and he has a super flat stomach- the male status symbol of fitness.

  • Love your waistline. It's HOT! Juicing keeps it!

  • thanks Dan,,good one!!

  • I bought a juicer today and put celery, lettuce, and cucumber in it and I almost puked. :( Not sure what to do to make it better. But i love watching the vids.

  • Carrot, apples and lemons at first until the micro flora change in the GI tract...Do not give up just make it a little sweeter at first! That one you made is not a good combo to start out on! Try pears too! YUM...

  • Thank you I tried that and it was great!!

  • I made vegatable juice today, after drinking it, i felt like throwing up....Is that normal?

  • Yes the micro flora in your GI tract must be cleansed for a while before you hit the heavy greens so remove as much cooked processed foods as you can and start by drinking carrot apple and parsley juice for a while and then slowly over the course of some months you will be able to drink more green juices! Sound reasonable? :)

  • Yes, it is normal, cause your body isn't used to a non-toxic diet.

  • It's ok to add something sweet like apple or carrot to make the juice palatable. I do this all the time..and I've been juicing for ten years

  • @iloveyourstory tough it out. its mostly in your head. also dont drink too much at a time. i started with fresh spinach, carrotts, lettuce, celery. i think that was all. i didnt go vegetarian though. i eat tuna, salmon, sardines.

  • Yeah Buddy!

  • Krista, LUV the comments to the side under the Sunglasses Disclaimer

    LOL

    well said

  • Bad Boy of Raw food ? lol i gotta admit it fits, you are unconventional and you luv to push the envelope a lil further each time and you are definitely Out of the Box !

Dan as i drink my Cabbage , Carrot top , Apple Juice from Fresh vibrant local produce bought at my farmers market, i salute you bro

Great insights as usual, Another Donation is on its way ! thanks man

  • Dan your so funny...YOU MAKE MY LIFE ON THIS LITTLE PLANET just that little bit more connected,,,luv yuz off ta da river of light kisses n hugs and light merging to all those close ta ya mmmmmyummmm

  • I love your thoughts on this. I was kicking myself for falling off the wagon and cheating. Are you ready? My cheat was I ate four little tomatoes with a tiny bit of himalayan salt. In the past it would have been an entire bag of tortilla chips or a pint of Ben and Jerry's. Feeling good about this my friend!

  • Love it! Had to laugh at "nine years transitioning". I've been transitioning on raw for three "officially" but diet overall for 18 years . . . Ah, but a top? I don't know . . . what about living on just the sun and air? Or prana? Or pure being?

  • I love that anytime i fall off a little, i come on youtube and watch videos (dan's!), read comments and it always puts me in perspective.

  • That Juice looked so yummie -tummy rumble-

    <3

    Amanda

  • rock on dan! :)

    btw:where are you at?

  • Great video Dan, I started juicing 4 days ago. I'm already down 4 lb's. Feeling good but shaky now and then. Thanks for the inspirational video.

  • I agree too!!! It is soo exciting. I was trying to get into raw 8 years ago because i was healing myself from a skin disease ... which i did ... but then got waaaaay off the path .... NOW i am ready for this ... and YOU TUBE is SOOO HELPFUL. I watch videos EVERYDAY!! I am like addicted to it. I want to open up a raw/juice/smoothie bar here in Alberta Canada :) Putting together a biz plan this YEAR ...

DAN IS THE MAN!!! Keep it up ... ROCK ON in the FREE world :)

  • just wondering.. is green juices supposed to taste really bad at first? will it taste better as I go? Thanks

  • ashlypeacelovell, you can always add your favorite fruits to your green juices if you find then too bitter. Some people even add a touch of spirulina

  • Bang ON with transition talk ... I am just starting to transition ..., adding in RAW things everyday ... not stressing about it. Having fun with it ... And i know eventually i will be 100%. One thing I am noticing is that sometimes i have MAJOR energy and then sometimes i feel tired ... any words on that ? Is that just healing? I have just quit smoking two months ago and started more raw 1 month ago... i am sure my body must be healing and needing to rest and recoup? ya? no?

  • You'll feel bogged down for a number of reason but the most probable is that your body is detoxing and/or your body is finally in tune with what kinds of food you're feeding it and it's starting to reject the bad stuff more noticeably.

By the way, finding out about raw food and the truth about cooked food is like finding out we live in the Matrix...lol who else agrees with me?

  • I totally agree! 4 Sure!

  • haha, I agree. Love that movie by the way.

  • I totally agree with you Achilles! I love you! :)

  • @Achillesreborn i agree 100 percent. i cant get other people to eat raw though. a guy was throwing some veggies in a skillet and talked about how he and his family had been started eating healthy for the past week. i told him they would be a lot healthier if he didnt cook them and he said i just cant eat raw vegetables.

  • you guys are too extreme for me lol no sun glasses, which by the way is nothing like one glove, i love wearing sun glasses, and too much sun can hurt your eyes, not to say every one should wear them all the time, but surely they cant be bad for you.

  • Been on this raw food ride for over a month and the biggest thing I noticed... besides the physical benefits and my body fat dropping like a rock... is the transformation of consciousness. I'm noticing now the taste of food and I won't even eat something that isn't ripe. The taste of foods that I use to like has also shifted. Maybe my taste buds are working right for the first time in my life.

Thanks Dan. You were the primary inspiration for me getting on this diet.

    Cheers.

  • DAN, I love this vid! LOL... "Gods Puppet..." that would make an awesome username. Also I love what you have to say about not overeating - awesome reminder. And for the record, I think the glasses are hot (just dont make a habit of it, that would just be weird... kind of like wearing one glove around...one day for protection but everyday = weird)

    : )

  • Hey Dan, Best video yet. Thx, Scott & Laura from Mt. Shasta, CA

  • I totally agree with you. My bliss is health. If that's not true for someone else, I still see them as equal to me. They are just living a different dream. Personally the thing I love the most in this life is feeling good in my body mind and spirit, and being healthy does that for me.

  • Another Dan classic....keep up the great work

  • what is the deal with sunglasses and eye health? any links?

  • I'll see if I can find some links later today, but now that everyone knows I meant the LACK of sunlight in the eyes being the issue, now if one just thinks intuitively about that, it will then become clear...but let me know if it doesn't! ;)

  • 10:30 is an early start on breakfast. 1/2 my day has already been completed by 10:30. Must be nice.

  • I test my urine pH daily. I'm not sure why but green juice doesn't show itself as alkaline in my urine. Do you know what I have seen the biggest difference with? Melons. Watermelon is number one then cantaloupe. I'm not saying that means these are more alkalizing just that my urine becomes alkaline.

Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) and water is actually the most alkalizing when I drink a tablespoon in 8oz of water, but that may not be healthy. I don't know.

  • Fall has arrived. Behold the changing leaves

  • I can't even find young thai coconuts here in Connecticut. I'm thinking i should probably just go with the normal coconuts they sell, even though they aren't as nutrient dense.

  • florida for the winter...sounds nice. i heard that its hard to fly with a juicer cuz of the sharp blades. i suppose you could mail it ahead of time to florida. nothing but coconuts...??...is that even possiable? i guess tom hanks did it.

  • True but Tom Hanks is second only to Chuck Norris. I'm not sure a mortal man could do such a thing. Superman maybe but he's not real.
