For the "making of" portion of this DVD there is a really epic song that plays throughout, featuring a choir, does anyone know the name of the artist/composer or song title?
the thing is viking are far older than known in history they cam about in 793... in christian history all pagan history and novels were erased from this earth when the Teutonic order came along and killed everyone who would not convert to christianism killing millions of pagans.. viking were a very peaceful race and only raided christians for 2 reasons resources and hate because of what christians were doing to there homelands
The Normans werent that wonderful. As you can see by the way the british have developed. And in my opinion man is not only to be judged by his supposed great deeds and successes of the distant past. But by the way he behaves in the today.
And you can see how things have developed and judge for yourself. And one must always guard against lies and propaganda, Artefacts can be placed anywhere. It proves nothing,
@OtheIIo What I love about Canada is that it has a diverse culture, and I am proud to be Canadian as I said. I think we live in the most beautiful country on earth. I just like vikings. I never been to BC but I've seen pictures & it is beautiful I would love to some day.
If vikings can be proud of their heritage, what about the nazis? Centuries of terror. So everyone can be proud of their archaic history, You wouldnt be proud if those scenes were put before you.
@lunafringe10 Well Vikings were great Merchants, Craftsmen, great Warriors. Used as royal bodyguards in the Byzantine empire. Vikings were much taller than rest of the Europeans. They were rich and had silk clothes. Before Christendom come they threaten their womans good. Vikings had generally a big influence on whole Europe.
@lunafringe10 They've found rune stones in the US and its been written about too. Well the vikings established a trade link between Europe and the eastern world. The English language have 2000 words that comes from Norse. And before that England had a similar language to the norse. But then William the Conquer showed up and brought a lot of french noblesmen to England which changed the language a lot. William the Conquer its actually Norwegian/French.
@lunafringe10 The vikings had settlements near the coast. The French king was worried about all the new settlements established in northern France. So he come with an offer to the viking chief. The viking chief accepted the offer and converted to Christian and to a french noble. Thats why the place is named Normandy because the men from North settled there. Why should i be ashamed? Even Christianity was much more brutal than the vikings...
@Lubben Very true. My great grandfather was Hrolfr (Rollo, Robert I) who was the original settler of Normandy (first Viking to settle it as well). He had a falling out with the King and continued to capture many other regions. At quick glance, I see my lines merge at Henry II of Jerusalem and Cyprus, King of Jerusalem, Count of Champagne. That's how they tie in with William the Conqueror as well. I call it my family vine (definitely not much of a tree).
@lunafringe10 Lubben is correct. We do have artifacts including rune stones in the US. You can Google it to find more info. It's always wiser to speak with fact rather than conjecture. Best wishes to you.
@Lubben Long before the vikings arrived on the scene the world had seen great cultures and craftsmen. But it looks as though scandinavians look upon the time of their bloody arrival as the hour zero. Wake up, you re not the greatest and never will be. Everyone knows about the dyke conspiracy against Assange. Ruled and governed by dykes, That is your present day.
@panvisionproduction no it doesnt. just because your nation doens't have any tribal names from which you took you names doesn't mean you can claim the north and our past as sole your own. We're jutes, geats, suiones, danes, gots, wtf is a norway?
@delamoxica It would be like if southern sicily would declare itself "Southway" and claim that they're the real southern europeans and the inheriters of the southern european culture, forget the greeks, romans and spainards, they're "Southwegians"
@delamoxica No we dont have tribal names. we live faar north, Thats why Norwegians. Or Nordmenn/ Northmen(Transelated) as we call it in the Norwegian language. So we dont clame the north. we live here. And since you are so smart, Tell me about the Norse pagan??? Wtf is a Norway? its the name of the country the Norwegians live in.
@panvisionproduction By that logic only the sami are true northmen. And you've lost your tribal names, not our fault but a dane, jut or swede is as much a northman as a norwegian, a northman does not = a norwegian by defult, thats my point.
@panvisionproduction By that logic only the sami are true northmen. A northmen does not equal a norwegian by defult, thats my point, a dane or swede is a much a northman 1000 year ago that a norwegian, just because you gave up your identity for whatever political gains does not mean you can claim you're the "real" northmen just as a person from malta can't claim he's a real souther european and everyone else can go fuc themselves.
@delamoxica I dont get what`s so hard to understand? The Norwegian People is named Northmen in norway. Nordmenn. Nord=North. Menn=men. I dont say that its only men living here so no one has to argue about that word. And the sami lives not only in Norway. And they dont want to be called Nordmenn. They want to be sami. And who is claiming annything?? I just say we live in the North. And are called Northmenn when you transelate the Norwegian Name to english. And yes Sweden and Denmark is north to.
@panvisionproduction You argued that norse meant norway of which i disagreed, norse/nordic culture = scandinavian, I understand what norway means. The northlands (norrland) of sweden is larger than the northlands of norway which is but a strip of coastland in comparison iirc yet you wont se or hear of them claming that they're the true northmen, that norse = swedish norrland and only norrland.
@panvisionproduction What we modern men are doing, I believe, is stealing these peoples identity, in the end how many jutes would have like being called danish? How many tribemen of what would oneday be norway would have like being called norwegian how many geats would have liked being called danish/norwegian/swedish, northmen is just a neutral term for all these people, in english and swedish there is a distinction between northman and norwegian. even though it clear where norway got its name.
@delamoxica I quess with the case of norway you have to make a disctinction between the establishment of the viking kingdom of Norway and the ages prior to that and what being a nordman would have ment to the different peoples of the land and through the ages, and I was wrong, you are northmen in swedish too, a cherfull merry lot of northeners who are never depressed :P
@delamoxica Thats right to some point. I just say that we are called Norwegians in the English Language. But in the Norwegian we are called Nordmenn. Thats all i am saying. Ask people from Sweden, Denmark. They will say the same. But yes they are people from the north to. But we dont claim the North. We just take care of our boardes as any other country would do. And our country is in the North. Norway, Sweden, Denmark,Finland,Russia, Iceland,
The vikings were only strong because they surprised their enemies, Once they were up against an army or navy, their asses dropped like bad apples, 1801 the british utterly destroyed the danish navy, and set fire to their cities, So that was the end of the stupid vikings dreams
do you really think the vikings gave a damn as to where the monks got their riches? did they give the peasants any of it back? hardly, so pls save us the excuses, your ancestry was just a lot of thieves, murderous, rapists, and that s not a bloodline to be proud of,
@lunafringe10 im bloody proud of my heritage, WE were the first in europe to travel to america, we also were the first to TRULY make a central trading route in europe, and it's still used today, without the vikings you surely wouldnt see much expansion in europe for hundreds of years, we were butchers and killers yes, but we were most and foremost explorers, traders and settlers. if you dont like us that's your problem, but dont shuve shit at us for what we are, u have no right.
All ppl were drunk and vile, Especially the murderous vikings, who sailed to foreign lands to pillage, rape and plunder and murder, That is what the vikings got famous for, Those dumb swedes and norwegians and danes are even proud of it,
the vikings were anything but heroic, everyone knows that, a drunken and vile ppl, who thought nothing better then tearing babies and defenseless ppl apart, Long before Hitler,
You gotta remember that for these people it was tough to grow stuff because of the cold temperatures all year round, so the only way they could get Vegetables and other food was to Pillage, so they were just looking out for there own
@adalstef Vikings looked upon them as rats. Sitting in theyre closters taking money from the hard working pesants. And that the monks did not fight made them eaven less respected.

wait , what abt this swedish king now? Whats with his brothel exploits?
And.., when is he going to step down in disgrace? But no, swedish judiciary
has gotten orders from the US to capture Julian Assange. Now thats what i
call subservient little scandinavian pricks. oh wait, the swedish lesbian connection
want to vent their frustration at Assange.

@Lubben its amazing how the scandinavians glorify their ancestry, Arent you just a little bit ashamed
of all the lies? If anything the vikings had a big influence in England and northern Germany and parts
of Russia. But not all of europe. There are theories about them exploring America. But only just theories,
Just because a few boats were washed ashore some place doesnt mean they explored all of it, The biggest
sea farers who had the nautical skills and the boats to explore were the polynesian
