It's very interesting to listen to this minstrel, since my school is currently doing this show, and our minstrel is a high female soprano. We only have, like, seven guys in our entire show. The guys we have are two knights, Sir Luce, Sir Studley, Dauntless, Sextimus, and the Wizard. Everyone else is a girl.

i love the way the wizard acts; he seems to fit the role perfectly and i found myself enjoying him the most. Queen aggravain (spelling?)also preformed really well. The minstrel was holding his lute had a grip on his lute like he was wielding a club though, but i enjoyed his singing. However i did NOT like the prince; he seemed to be a bit of a cry baby and acted like my 6 year old cousin when something dosent go his way :P other then that, the cast seems really good and i plan on seeing the rest

we just finished this production, I played the Minstrel, I noticed that you dont do that jump at the end of a verse (well actually the sentence) could you do it or did you find it easier to do that? also a funny thing about my show was that I had a ukelele and not a lute AND i learned how to play it!

Alhambra High just performed this musical this Spring. Their Minstrel was a girl, and she did a great job. Its good to how a part can be played by a male. I know the Minstrel IS a male role, but their Minstrel was perfect.

I played the Minstrel in my school play this year. I just have to say, PLEASE go up the octave on the high notes; it's not that hard. Also, the Minstrel's a prankster and a storyteller. You HAVE to connect to the audience more than this guy does. Also, don't play around with the rhythms and notes so much. It comes across as being less musical, and this isn't the kind of song where improvisational singing belongs. Add personality into it through your tone and acting.
