  • thank you for your videos...you are great and have some really neat ideas.

  • @amyoparsons Thanks! :o)

  • Thank you sooooo much ! This has to be the best video tutorial I've seen for simple projects ! I've had a sewing machine (from my mom) since my mid teens, and have barely used it because when I had purchased patterns.. I had trouble visualizing the instructions.. and some videos aren't as easy to follow. I feel like I can definitely tackle this project. You have a talent not only for crafting but for making tutorials !

  • @anothernight82 Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I used to feel the same way about print instructions. That's why I love video so much. :o)

  • i love this!!!!!!!!!

  • @qweqwe295 Thanks! They're a lot of fun to make, :o)

  • if i got a giant t-shirt i could make some for myself.....

your tutorials are really easy to follow thanks!

  • Awesome

  • its better if you press your seams and pin your seams open. that makes it easier to line the crotch seams up

  • oh my goodness this is so easy. im trying to get into sewing since i dug up my aunts old seing machine in my grandmas garage (not that old, black friday, 2006). im new and need some really easy guides. im hooked i can listen to your voice for hourse, so thats a plus also. aaand my cousin is having a newborn cant wait to give her some gifts

  • @itsYajaira Yup! It sure is. Glad you found my tutorials. I post a new one every Monday. So be sure to subscribe! :o) I just had our 2nd baby so I have a lot of ideas coming soon.

  • I loved the idea from the beginning, but I loved it more when you said it works great for cloth diapers! This solves my problem on how to outfit my daughter's big cloth diaper booty, thank you!

  • @annpinkangel haha.. Tru! Glad I could help!

  • what is a stretch needle and stitch?

  • @hazeldream1984 A stretch needle is a needle that is specifically designed to be used with stretchy fabrics like the t-shirt material. The stretch stitch is a specific type of stitch that you can select on some sewing machines that will allow you to sew with stretchy fabrics so that when the fabric is stretched the stitches don't pop out. Hope that helps.

  • Thanks for this tutorial! I'm new to sewing and I made a perfect (well almost perfect lol) pair of pants for my baby out of my husband's shirt. :)

  • @tmpayne614 Good for you!! I'm so glad to hear it!

  • i dont know why.....but i laughed really hard at the word baby pants.

  • wow! you have made me actually want to sew again, I love how you explain everything! very to the point! does this mean it can be fun again!

  • @pacertmh haha.. absolutely!! Happy sewing!

  • Love this, can't wait to try it!Thanks=)

  • you're amazing! I just wanted to watch the pillowcase dress video and now I'm watching as many as I can! I'm going to need a much better sewing machine :) Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

  • @maryannsphotography Yay! That's great to hear. happy crafting! :o)

  • When cutting out your pattern, can you use pinking sheers?

  • @blueforyou2 Absolutely. Pinking shears are often used to help keep the fabric from fraying... which won't make a difference in this project because t-shirt fabric doesn't fray anyway. :o)

  • i dont know which is cuter the pants or the baby lol nice job n good idea il hafta subscribe

  • @2sexxyfaya haha.. thanks! :o)

  • Loved this, thank you so much!

  • I know that all machines are different, but which setting do you use on your machine for the zigzag setting? Also, thanks for informing us about using this stitch for this material and turning the seams in opposite directions to lay down flat in the crotch area.

  • @blueforyou2 You would have to check on your machine for the number or the image that looks like a zig zag stitch. If you don't see anything like it on the actual machine check your user manual. Hope that helps.

  • Thanks for sharing! I've got a bunch of t's that I can repurpose now! =)

  • @kisakikun Great! Enjoy! :o)

  • @Alohasandie Thank you! :o)

  • Thank you so much for this! I've been looking for patterns to make my son pants online and have found nothing that looks simple enough for a beginner! I love that this uses an old tshirt, too! I can't wait to try this!

  • so the crotch sticks out

  • That is really cool

  • Love this idea! And your videos are super helpful too, so glad I found you and hope you continue your very informative, (and easy to understand videos)!

  • which sewing machine are u using.. i am planing to buy one and it is soooooo confusing .. plz help

  • @Rooshanii The machine I'm using in this video will probably run you about $1,000 these days. But if you're on a budget one machine I recommend to all my beginning students is a Janome 11542. Do a google search for it and it will probably pop up on Overstock. Their shipping is only like $2 or $3 so it's the best deal. The machine is refurbished but I haven't had any problems with the 2 I've purchased. It's my little basic go-to machine and it only weighs 11 lbs but its a heavy duty sewer!

  • @TheCraftyGemini thank you so much .. My husband bought me Janome 11542. But one of my friend she liked it and bought janome 11542 from me. Now i want to buy another sewing machine. i was thinking about brother cs600i. what do u think about this sewing machine..

  • @Rooshanii hahaha... too funny! I have a Brother PC420-PRW and I have heard many people buy the cs600i as a more basic machine. I have seen reviews online for it and it seems to be nothing but great comments. Good luck!

  • I saw the video today and made a pair for my 8 month old baby girl and they came out so cute. I did drawstring since I didn't have the elastic and decorated it with padded squares on the knee areas since she is a crawling diva, lol... thanks so much for all your videos tutorials. :)

  • me too..we can co-operate and work together to make more BABY stuffs

  • Awsome I luv it thanx for sharing I am so gonna make sum Pats for My neice she is growing so fast I luv to make things and this will be perrrrfect to make for her!! thanx agian!!

  • Thank you so much I'm going to try to attempt this. This is the easiest tutorial I've seen

  • Love it! Thanks so much for the great explanation. Just made my first practice pants out of an old red t-shirt and they came out great.

  • Great demo!!

    Great kid!!

    Great mommy!!

I´m going to recycle some of my older T-shirts.

    Thanks!!

  • Wow!! Thank for sharing!! Really great video.

  • Thank you, I think you did an awesome job. So easy to follow and i love the simplicity and they are so cute.

  • Why didn't you just sew up the two legs from crotch down on to the hem, on the two pieces.. then slip one leg into the other (right side to right side... ) sew the crotch... that's the way I thought you made slacks/pants/shorts anytime you have one piece for front and back. It is much simplier, I've always made pants that way

  • @Trayne1837 That is definitely another way of doing it. But for me this way was easier especially to explain on camera. Some of my students often get confused with putting one leg in the other so, I chose this method for my video tutorial.

  • Hi Vanessa :)

Love this tutorial....excellent and again so easy to follow....you are very talented:)

keep them coming they are very inspiring....cute pants, and cute baby :)

    thank you :)

    Magz :)

  • your son is soooo adorable and you are so creative!! I'm def subscribing!

  • LOVE THIS! I'm going to make some for my nephew who is coming around Christmas time! AWESOME!

  • Great Tutorial! I have an old fleece pullover- I can use this tute to make fleece longies out of it!

  • Watching your tutorials gave me alot more confidence and willingness to get my new sewing machine out to repurpose some old clothing out of my closet!!!! You honestly have inspired one more beginner to unleash endless possibilities within. Thank you from a fellow Gemini in Oakland, CA!!!!!!

  • I love your videos. I was looking for a way to make my grandson a pair of pants for his Halloween costume without paying $11.00 for a pattern and I stumbled onto your video...thank you so much. You're a natural TV craft show hostess.

  • Great video and I have to say you are a great teacher.

You explain everything so clearly with great instructions.

You have mad teaching skills !!

  • Oh ok thank you

  • I would like to know if you can put on YouTube how to make boys and men pants and shirts

  • @devrenee2 For boys and mens pants and shirts you would need to purchase a commercial pattern. Those garments require a lot of steps and precise measurements depending on the boy's or man's size. My videos on YouTube are only 10 minutes long so, that just wouldn't be possible.

  • This is AWESOME and I can't wait to try it out!

  • awesome thank you

  • cool! I need a rotary cutter... :D

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this! I made 4 pairs :) I'm so proud :)

Although my hubby wasn't too impressed that i used his t shirts :D

  • this was an EXCELLENT video - I can't wait to try!

  • I remember just a few years ago you were sharing your new crafts on facebook... its amazing how a hobby turns into a hussle... not mad at that at ALL...

  • I really love this video! :)

  • ur baby is cute ^^
