Nice race, though the ferrari is over a decade older and a bit less in power against the new m5. I dont think it would have beaten a 575 maranello though (more hp than the old maranello and the new m5)

550 and 575 are essentially the same chassis. The 575 has a few minor facelifts compared to the 550. I think the 575 gets a small boost in power but the cars are VERY similar otherwise.

Well a ferrari is a ferrari, id love to own one no matter how old it is. Props to the M5 for being side by side against a Ferrari. and "miqa2" the M5 is equipped with a SMG transmission, it shares the same characteristic as an Automatic. And "chuckysue777" how can u say M5=boring, if you dont own one? Much less a 10yr old ferrari.
Actually, the SMG shares the same characteristic as a manual transmission. It is in fact a manual transmission, complete with a clutch. As opposed to an automatic transmission which uses a torque converter between the tranny and the drive shaft. The Sequential Manual Gearbox simply automates the whole process. Lower end cars that offer paddle shifters will be using a "steptronic" or "tiptronic" tranny, which is simply an auto tranny with flippy paddles. Doesn't work as fast, doesn't hold gear.
my opinion is that the m5 is an incredibly good looking 4door family car with enough power to keep up with some of the top exotic cars built especially for speed and nothing else...for ex. confort...

LOL!BMW got their M5 V10 engine (4.8 turbocharged V10 got ~1600 hp)You tell me atmospheric hahaha Enzo is from 2003 and 660hp , while the M-division built S70 V12 from the late 90-s..and got 627 hp!That engine is in Mclaren F1.And BMW builds the best engines in the world so the ferrari can only beat the beemer on the track.

550 and 575 are essentially the same chassis. The 575 has a few minor facelifts compared to the 550. I think the 575 gets a small boost in power but the cars are VERY similar otherwise.

Lambo and Ferrari are the best supercars of the world since day 1. Both companies only make "supercars", thats why they are the best..
The germans in the other side make good ordinary cars but hell they can't even compare with the italian supercars.. Maybe with Maserati.. Just look at the designs is like comparing a heaven and hell.
Italian supercars are the best and the ones with more prestige and history, they are also beating everybodies ass in Formula 1.

M power means , performance ( and ) reliability. mines did not break down ever not even one time in 6 years and it already had 80k on the clock ! they are the best cars in the world easy but i would still like a ferrari cos they are lovely looking and sound great but on normal roads theres not much between them all.

Actually, the SMG shares the same characteristic as a manual transmission. It is in fact a manual transmission, complete with a clutch. As opposed to an automatic transmission which uses a torque converter between the tranny and the drive shaft. The Sequential Manual Gearbox simply automates the whole process. Lower end cars that offer paddle shifters will be using a "steptronic" or "tiptronic" tranny, which is simply an auto tranny with flippy paddles. Doesn't work as fast, doesn't hold gear.

The RS6 is a beast.. tho it lacks the driver feel the M5 has. It is one hell of a car tho. The other reason I don't have an RS6 is because they are very expensive and the credit crunch means I must b selective with my toys.
