i just raced my buddys 350z stock against my cobalt supercharged stock. we were DEAD EVEN from a 30 roll to about 100. beyond that, idk. we did a 30 roll so we didn't have to deal with my wheel hop because the 350z has a better launch probably. but once i stage 2 it, im gonna pull on him.
I had a built/turbo 4 door integra gsr before my z that ran 11.1 at 125, but I made a few passes on street tires in the high 12's-low 13's at 120-125. So I can relate to traction whoas.
probably not......my car has run 13.48 backed up with a 13.49 when I was making about 14whp less. I fully expect it to run 13.30 at 106 on street tires amd 13.0-13.1 on DR's, so my car isn't crazy by any means, but too much from a dig for cobalts.
Are you cobalt kids on meth. This is an 03 on 20's that missed a gear. I will pay 100 bucks to any stage 2 sc cobalt who will run me from 0-120 and wins.
And thats how it is every single time i race a 350z even if it has exaust or whatever. My cobalt still owns them and still costs way less. And you see way more of those pieces of junk on the road than a cobalt ss.
the 07 Z's wouldnt stand a chance thats just like saying the 07 eclipse GTS which has 280HP can beat an SS and believe me those fuckers are slow and weigh less then those heavy Z's...i've raced 2 07 350's nismo packages on top of that they may be faster but they still cant keep up with me and i'm not even a Stage 2
Did I just hear a cavalier owner refer to a rwd sports car as a "piece of junk"? LOL. Do you know why it costs less? I'll let you figure that one out for yourself.
Yeah the clutch is in a sense a centrifugal clutch..you have to have the right speed (mph) to match the right RPMs. Like going to second gear you may be at redline but only going 20 mph, and slam second and there you have it...clutch slip. So you kind of have to bounce the rev-limiter a couple to make it run right...but that's why you have guys with hp tuners and boost limit 1rst gear like I did..does a wonderful job.
it's kinda weird because even on the track it does it when the car has full traction. It sucks because it's embarrassing to see a Cobalt SS run 17-19s.
Yeah clutch slip is very bad on stage 2.. just gotta do it right! But at least you pay attention and let off! Great kill man, I got a grudge rematch with an '08 Z with full exhaust and intake.
yea my friend has an 07 350Z with exhaust and gears and he ran a 13.4 @ 105.9 w/ a 2.0 60'
Without gears and good tires he ran a 13.6. I hate how the new Zs are so fast... lol One your Cobalt does the clutch only slip a lot sometimes? Because in this one sometimes it slips so much the car doesn't gain speed and sometimes it grabs perfectly fine.
no lol im not just listen to it when it hits second gear the clutch is slipping (not spinning the tires even though it kinda sounds like it) and it stays at like 6k rpm then he gets on and off the throttle and its still slipping so he completely lets off then rolls back on the throttle. Yes it's a stock Z i believe.
pfft slow Z. I beat 350Z's in my turbo RSX-S and I'm on just 6.5psi

@srtallday Slow is a relative term.....mine ran a 13.0@107 with just intake/exhaust/tune. Not fast.....not slow.

@03threefiftyz talk is cheap, cobalt is a pretty quick car and stop hating.
