Just look at Colombia and how the U.S. plans to establish 7 military bases. Add that to the list of bases all around the world the U.S. has. Why not incorporate Israel to the UNION? I did say Joe could've handled it better.. but just as Skip Gates wasn't the one who escalated the situation beyond conversation, Joe wasn't the one who took it from verbal to physical. I think that distinction matters, in both cases. (Not that they are identical of course, Gates' end of it was nowhere near as questionable as Joe's,and Crowley's abuse of power is infinitely more serious than Rae's)
I don't think CH was motivated by wanting attention, his pathology ran deeper than that..

I think my friends who work in that arena would want me to suggest that Africa's political landscape is a bit more diverse and nuanced than that. :)
I agree this is not only American problem but a human problem...but I framed the video around being American because that's the culture in which these too-easily demonized rappers live, and in which similar behavior by others is lauded as the actions of a "true patriot" and what not..

OK, I did generalise quite sweepingly there (!!), but once you've lived under an African government, (and I lived under some of the worst in West Africa!) and watched the continental news from the perspective of not having the option of leaving (one can always quit a job!), you might reach that conclusion too!
Anyhow, let me not detract from the fact that I loved this, and I'm glad to see you back man. Good stuff, keep em coming (as far as paying the bills permits!)

If you look at the majority of our founding fathers ideas you will see why they were so careful not to give the federal government so much power, which is why they remained independent states and not one huge one. (For a reason) now if we ignore history and repeat it, we will not like what we will have in the end. Patriot Act, Federal Reserve, Government intervening in the markets, this is big Gov. History shows it only gets bigger. That is what the concern is. Its about a bigger picture

Well the founding father never thought about the Military becoming the way it is today. In which in all parts of the world there a U.S. military bases. Just look at Colombia and how the U.S. plans to establish 7 military bases. Add that to the list of bases all around the world the U.S. has. Why not incorporate Israel to the UNION? Or and other country we continue to occupy. I don't think the founding fathers would have been able to add all the other states we currently occupy.

At the same time, I think the probability of physical retaliatory action from Joe sometime in the future is likely. Also, more importantly, on the issue of the political, social, and economic maladies afflicting us as a people, most of the misrepresentation on those issues stems from a level beyond affiliation to political parties but rather a systematic allegiance to money and power.

Well, I have to say, this is just a simple misunderstanding that did not need to lead to punches being thrown. It's not any type of big deal, but based on what thing's have happened before when the media steps in it's "side" of the story this will blow up into some big crisis.
Then we will have people taking sides, (personally Im for Wu-Tang) and there will be a couple diss tracks here and there and eventually it will die off (this is assuming this simple beef blows up).
