Where the heck can one download this version from the theme not the old one, evreytime I search for the get carter theme the results are always the old theme michael caine's theme?!? wtf? some say it's Soma sonic, searched for the theme under that and found zero, nothing..
Film is more subtle and complex than its target audience could absorb. You have to connect quite of few dots on your own for the plot and story line to stay linear, and I think that is where a lot of "Rambo type" moviegoers got lost, thus why the film is so under-rated. The movie is MUCH better if you had read the book first, but still a great film overall.
Very underrated film. I loved the original but this movie was very impressive too. Sylvester Stallone showed wonderful acting. The same with Miranda Richardson, Rachael Leigh Cook, Johnny Strong, Alan Cumming, John C. McGinley and others. "Get Carter" is my personal favorite Stallone movie in decade 2000-2009
The Battle of Britain was the closest we came to being invaded, and occured in the summer and autumn of 1940. The USA was not in the war at that time. As for the American help to us in the war, we do not doubt we owe a great thank you to your nation, but the scale of it has been greatly inflated by journalists and Hollywood. Things were dire for us, but not impossibly so, and the the US didn't swan in like white knights to save the day. If anything, the greatest help was helping rebuild after.
@dd777dz I presume you are referring to Britain, in which case you are very very wrong. Firstly USA's involvement in the eventual result of the war is greatly exaggerated, the Soviets (who joined about the same time as you) had a much greater impact. As far as Britain is concerned, the closest Nazi's ever came to invading Britain was the Battle of Britain and in that instance it was almost a complete British effort that won the battle, no Americans involved.
@dd777dz ahhh great comeback... 6 lines of criticism without any actual facts... thank you for for the kind of reply that truly justifies what I think of your nationality.
@dd777dz Even before was nothing wrong being a German.i dont like Hitler at all.i hope he burn's in hell.but you cant judge a country over one man.So is US fighting in the name of freedom or democracy and ppl are still dying right? Superior Nations will always have war outside their borders.
@Laelisha oh for God sakes do you people ever pay attention to history? The US is currently waging a war on a land unconquered for at least 3000 years and you are narrowing German persecution of the Jews to one era and one man. Germany has a long and illustrious history of antisemitism which brimmed over in the first major massacre of the Jews 900 years before Hitler. This was done as a curtain raiser to the Christian War on everything, the First Crusade.
The main problem here is that most people want to compare . Why do you do that ? Stallone's Carter isn't meant to take something away from Caine's Carter, it's just a modern movie aiming to entertain and I was entertained and I thought Sly did good . Don't compare just watch and enjoy either or both films ..
how exactly do brits do the same? get carter is considered one of britains greatest ever films. How would you feel if we remade the godfather, considered one of your greatest ever films. we just woudn't do that. but you feel you can remake get carter. worst remake ever.
Ok then...., take a look at the music favoured by you in your own channel....most of it's so called, "Limey" music by "Limey" bands. Feel free to delete it, anytime. Cain put calculated menace into his character. It has nothing to do with "Limey's" pissin' up a rope.
Meeting a, Carter character like, Cain projected, should make you want to do a U-turn and stay out his reach.....Stallone on the other hand ? Rambo in a suit. nuff' said
@Kramkat what does the music i favorite have to do with this movie??? nothing!
i mean really , you are compareing apples to oranges.. i never said a word about brit music Bad Co and Led Zep are just two of my favs but so is CCR, Grand Funk and The Band i always said Tommy's made great music so what.. but movies???..not so much. and you guys do tend to get a lil pissy when it comes to Yanks
This film lost the whole grit of the original. No wonder it bombed. It was another Stallone vnity project. If it aint bust don't fix it. And Stallone's bitten off way more than he can chew following in the role that was Caine's, a master actor who played it subtle. But Stallone would have tried to follow Elvis at Vegas for career resurrection.
Caine plays this role cold. Not angry. Like a man with no soul. Stallone couldn't compare with that man's acting chops. Caine looked like the man who'd call at your door exacting revenge for something you forgot about. Not like this tripe.
The original British film is about a hundred times better than this Yank nonsense. Is Hollywood so devoid of ideas they have to remake anything good, and reset it in America, so that you don't have to listen to foreign accents? Pathetic.
the fact that they incorporated Roy Budd's orginal carter theme into the soundtrack was this movie's only redeeming feature. The original is one of the best films ever made and this is one of the worst.
