the ramones' production was deceptively good. many falsely assume their recordings to be 'lo-fi', but this is simply not true. everything is very clear and with a lot of punch. joey's vocals are almost always double tracked; the location of the instruments between the left and right channels was meticulously chosen to resemble that of the beatles' mixes; and there were always lots of interesting little accents, like the organ on this track. plus they were never sloppy, merely simple
