I myself am from Sweden and we sing in English because we speak English almost as well as Swedish some even better, thanks to the school. And that because it takes a lot for a rock band that sings in Swedish to success outside the Swedish borders. Thats why it´s not offensive by any means to the native fan base.
I never understood why European bands sing in English. Wouldn't that alienate their native fanbase?
