It seems like everybody thinks that there is only one Wing Chun style. This lineage of Wing Chun is probably older than Yip Man's lineage. I have seen WC lineages that are not Yip's. It doesn't mean that people create "their own". If you do some research you will see for yourself.
you're missing the whole basics of wing chun.. if you train like that.. you would be training out of the center line.. it looks good but is it efficient?
@EmoGuitar666 The centre line theory you are talking about is not the only interpretation of centre line theory that exists in the styles ancestral to Wing Chun. So I think you have to say "...the whole basics of the Wing Chun that I study..." rather that "...the whole basics of wing chun...." Best wishes, Martin.
@martinpaulwatts My Sifu once told me a story where someone had came to his school and had a funny stance while playing chi sao, it turns out that guy has been doing that funny stance his whole life, and he actually ended up being really good. what i'm trying to say is that you can never judge something on how it looks no matter if it looks weird or whatever, sorry about my ignorant comment back then, i was still learning, and now i still have yet to learn everything :)) thanks Martin! -William
hey my friends, this is chogar wingchun, my teacher(grandson of the greatmaster cho desheng曹德胜) tell me it is the old wingchun, men of my town call this style shao lin tou(少林头)。soy cantones y he vivido en la ciudad canton baiyun area pueblo renhe ...
Actually, no large changes or variations added into it. In fact, we should say many large changes and variation removed from it making what we see and learn today.

hmmm.....there is actually a male wing chun style and a female wing chun style....if you all look at the taiping rebellion, some of the hokkien rebels claimed to come from the village called wing chun and hence named their style wing chun kuen, when the rebels got disbanded they split to the four corners of the globe...each one teaching a version of their own 'wing chun' styles.
Cho Gar wing chun is a much older version of Wing chun.
Very interesting. I had heard that Yip Man had modified and shortened the forms and that previously they were much longer. Looking at the different mainland styles suggests this is true. Either way, I'm glad the original styles still exist, otherwise we wouldn't be able to research the origins of certain Wing Chun techniques.
Compare a modern sports car to a very early car (looked like a buggy without the horse). We have no idea what was trained on the Opera Boats. Weng Chun, Cho Gar, Ban Chung, etc, which have commonalities, may have remained static while it was the Foshan branches that modified & became hybrid.
This is WC,same principles expressed and choreographed "differently",no doubt a few other influences are displayed but then thats how this Branch would have evolved.People should realise that WC does not begin or end with Yip Mans version.
Of course this is Wing Chun! Duh! Why is it so difficult to perceive Wing Chun within this form? There are at least seven different branches of Wing Chun in Mainland China alone! If you'd practice enough you'd realize that these little differences do not cancel each other out. In fact, they simply broaden Wing Chun's horizons!
i'm sorry to say that you are fooling yourself if you really believe this is wing chun. I'm very open to things. There are reason for things the way it was meant to be. And if you called this a new name it would it an interesting style. but its not wing chun!
I practice WC and this is not. what do you have against the truth. I'm not against you. just that this is not WC. that is all i'm saying. so stop making this personal
Westerners only know what the Chinese tell them and bring to them. There are many deadly and rare styles of kung fu in China that Westerners never heard of nor seen, and may never for that matter.
However, not everyone within the "Western World" can be categorized as a "Westerner". There are some among us who've transcended such silly designations. No one owns the copyrights to the full range of Human Motion.
this is not wing chun. you can ask anybody. I'm just commenting. and what the sort of language are you using. if you think this is WC you are fooling yourself
no one can copyright anything true. if you want to get detailed. all chinese WC has the has characteristics! it's a fact. that's why things like this are not accepted by chinese ppl! you know nothing! i dont know what is your problem
dude you're right. wtf! this is not wing chun! but it looks like a mixture of guangdong martial arts. so you can't say its not chinese martial arts. not an effective style if it was wing chun though. from what i've seen malaysia is good in ngo cho and other fukkein style not this. which I believe is utter nonsence!
what the hell are you tryin to imply. that you think you know everything. well let me tell you something. gong bu and ma bu like this will not work in WC nor will the hand style. from what I can see it is a mixture of alot of style because before alot of ppl never finish the training in one style so they added alot of things to it
That definitely is Wing Chun except with a powerful horse stance and Tiger foot work. His hand techniques are pure Wing Chun, but you might not know that unless you've mastered the Dummy Form.
Cho Gar Wing Chun, the guy is doing tan sau, biu sau, gum sau, his punches are centerline and is performing a lot of combos that you find in the Yip Man Wooden Dummy set. Almost all of his hand movements can be found in Yip Man's Wing Chun, his horse stance is close to Pan Nam's Wing Chun.
Wing Chun style originated from Choy Gar ( rat style) Wing Chun is just simply a knock off of an ancient style.

this is cho ga wing chun which makes use of wide stances like shaolin kung fu. It is a combination of opera wing chun and choy lee fut.

So very true!!! It doesn't have SNT, CK, and Bui Ji. Just one long form.

pan nam does not have those stance. and the hand movements has some similarities, but is just a combination of things put together.
