David Glantz has studied years e.g Soviet records of e.g Operation Uranus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturnus. And what happened in Kharkov spring 1943. And The Battle of Targul-Frumos (spring 1944). And Soviet (1st Belorussian Front's) Actions East of Warsaw in August-September 1944. He has found several these kinda "holes in Soviet military memory". These battles were huge, soviet losses so enourmous and result so unsuccessful. Soviet military history ain't honest at all.

Tens of military historians agree that Red Army troops were 22nd of June 1941 in offensive location. That means that they were also planning to attack.

The Orthodox and Catholic Churches are not "identical in theology or practices". Why can't Russia deal with it's own situations without the west meddling and being critical. Soviet Air Force was destroyed mostly coz their aircraft were so near the border line. And there were near the border line coz Stalin was planning to start a huge offensive near in future. We have several documents and proves of that. For instance 1 million tons of fuel near the borderline. More and more troops marching near the borderline in june 1941. Maps of central Europe some captured by germans but most of them burned down by russians when germans started Barbarossa.

It was very dangerous to keep your aircraft near the borderline and so much fuel (1 million tons). Dozens of military studies are showing that those red army divisions were actually in offensive possition or moving to offensive possition just before germans attacked.
That war wasn't at all surprise for Soviet military leaders - suprise was that germans made the first move before Soviet. I hope russians will finally open their secret archives. There's no need to hide the truth.

The soviet aircraft was destroyed by Nazi on the bride stripe to Kiev (most European countries are smaller) and that was mostly the fault of Rychagov. David Glantz has studied years e.g Soviet records of e.g Operation Uranus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturnus. And what happened in Kharkov spring 1943. And The Battle of Targul-Frumos (spring 1944). And Soviet (1st Belorussian Front's) Actions East of Warsaw in August-September 1944. He has found several these kinda "holes in Soviet military memory". These battles were huge, soviet losses so enourmous and result so unsuccessful. Soviet military history ain't honest at all.

Grigorenko was hardly facist. He just told the truth what really was happening in summer 1941. It's quite well documented that both Germany and Soviet were planning to attack. Many russian historian have even mentioned that Stalin made a big mistake when he didn't attack before Hitler.

Is it me or after watching a couple of Journeymans videos I see an anti-Orthodox stance and bias! Another thing, the narrator say's that the churches have most of their theology in common and were once one, we know the Catholic church and various Orthodox churches have had discussions in the past about uniates and trying to mend the past... If thats true what is the Catholic church's agenda in Russia and how are they growring (18:30) if they arent proselytizing? And who is Bush to get involved?

But we know him as the Pope or Patriarch of Rome) must to do (to reenter in Orthodoxy family) is to cancel all the heretics resolutions since 1054 AD. @NickolayBerezinskiy I agree, I'm Greek Orthodox, we haven't forgot about Constantinople, 1453, and even recently with the collapse of communism in the east the new Uniate churches popping up all of a sudden in the Balkans! Catholicism repsresents christian imperialism and suppression, that's why the reformation(the protestant movement) never occurd in the East! They added new dogmas like the Filioque and clerical celebecy to name just a few! They need to return to us, not the other way around!

A good and interesting look at a fascinating issue. However, it would have been nice to see a little more background on the ancient and very important link between Russian nationalism, the state, and Russian Orthodoxy. Also, a little background on how Catholicism, and Slavic and non-Slavic nations to the west factor into that history would also have been helpful. Find the ominous, almost demonizing portrait of Putin - as if he invented the situation - is tiring. That said, Journeyman is great

I gotta say man my family's origins are Russian and I myself am an Orthodox Christian, but this video is very biased in terms of Western thought, it seems almost as if they paint the Russian Orthodox Church as attacking the Roman Catholic Church, while the ROC is certainly not, it is merely attempting to restore Russia to it's high sense of spirituality before the Communist revolution. I love our brethren the Roman Catholics too. But they should remember that even the apostles agreed, each of which is the canonical territory, which he must nurture. In Orthodox Church, each bishop ordinations sequence can be traced up to Apostle Andrew. All Russia is the canonical territory from Apostle Andrew. The Orthodox and Catholic Churches are not "identical in theology or practices". Why can't Russia deal with it's own situations without the west meddling and being critical.
