  • PPGZ better be actual ass kicking. I don't want 8 episodes of dialog for 1 minute of fisticuffs (ala DBZ).

  • GEEZUS! don't even compare my favorite anime with this crap,it doesn't even deserve the awesome Starlights music!

  • Mahou Shoujo anime share a lot of things, so it's very likely PPGZ has influence from a lot of things. What confuses me is how long it takes to form the skirt on those outfits =S It's just slightly creepy. Also I'm confused about why Buttercup wears a skirt when she hates being girly XD

  • I love both Sailor Moon and PPGZ. The reason A LOT of magical girl animes are compared to Sailor Moon is because Sailor Moon WAS the influence to a lot of them (such as Tokyo Mew Mew) so people like to point out the similarities, but it doesn't necessarily mean their copying. BTW, one of the producers of Sailor Moon worked with PPGZ, so maybe that explains some of the similarities. Also, in one of the PPGZ eps, Bubbles imagines herself older and her hair is just like Usagi's. INFLUENCE

  • the way the look kinda reminds me of the powderpuff girls an so do their names

  • There's too much weird movements are they having seizures or something wtf

  • omg hahahaha their faces are just the EXACT same omg hahahahaa

  • i love buttercup

  • Das ist wirklich gut geworden ;)

    echt toll :)

  • if sailor venus and yaten have a daughter it will so be bubbles, if rai and taiki have a daughter it will be buttercup idk who bloosom will be lol

  • just because this is a 'magical girls' anime doesn't mean they are copying Sailor Moon. and Sailor Moon wasn't even the first magical girl anime either so how do you know they didn't copy off someone else? :/ jeez, you people take anime waaaay too seriously!

  • sailor moon knock off , btw isnt powerpuff a cartoon network original ? wtf is up with japanese changing it

  • It looks like Sailor Moon because I heard that one of the animators is from Sailor Moon.

  • Did you draw this, or is it from some sort of TV show I never heard of. Because I LOVE the power puff girls!

  • @Milkmouse1966 It's from a Japanese Anime "Powerpuff Girls Z"

  • i love them!!!!!!!!! i cant wait to see buttercup and blossom!

  • ppgz is not coping sailor moon its coping the original but with transformation and added on characters

  • @CloverTheMelody it is copying sailor moon. if sailor moon wasnt there there wouldnt be so much magical girl animes.

  • @amare135 im not talking about magical girl catagoies i mean the story

  • CUTE<3 :D

  • dang i had this idea today

  • lol this is cute!

  • Hmmm...You know, with the belts and slotting in the charmes and all, it seems to me to be more inspired by Kamen Rider than Sailor Moon.

  • lol, roribubbles.

  • sorry dont like the power puff girls (any version).. they have no plot. is like the space ghost they always capture the same antagonists again and again, theres no progress.

  • not to offend sailor moon please

  • they finally made powerpuff girls decent

  • ok i think it is a mix of (very bigly) sailor moon and the power puff girls

  • I never knew there was a Powerpuff Girls anime until about 6 months ago.

  • This reminds me of Magical DoReMi.

  • @L33TRedNinja well u should know that miyako's(bubbles) japanes voice is momoko/mindy in doremi

  • @IvaniSamaTV OMG, SERIOUSLY?! Sorry, I just didn't know that until now... it's usually the first thing I notice in animes, English and Japanese. XD

  • m, i think this was made b4 sailor stars so it couldnt copy them

  • I still think this is really weird... usually you see Japanese stuff going American... this is the reverse... I don't think they're copying Sailor Moon in particular... it just has the very typical "girl sentai" transformation thing going... whereas in the original cartoon they don't transform. I'm pretty old school... I mostly know the original...

  • Cutey Honey was the Grandmother of the Magical Series where they would actually transform into their super powered selves. Sally the Witch (can't recall the Japanese title) was the first ever Magical Girl series, where she was, well a little witch, and she used her powers to help her friends and such.

  • @mihane100 they are the powerpuff girls

  • That's copying powerpuff girls!

  • Kawaii!! I love sailor moon and this one too! Good job! ^_^

  • its not so much copying as everything has already been done. there is no such thing as an original novel, movie or anime anymore because in the 1000s of years humans have been around, its all been done before. and whoever Barbe is talking to: it is real. I read in an anime insider that PPGZ was made in an attempt to revive the failing PPG market in Japan.

  • ok so this is a mix of Sailor moon and powerfuff girls. God I'd give anything just to see Cardcaptors and sailor moon come on tv again..-____-

  • LMFAO I LOVE IT

  • this is the creepiest thing i've ever seen in my life (O_O)...[[confused]]

  • it fits but i prefer ppgz transformation theme

  • I really fits

  • If this is a real cartoon, it looks so better than the shitty one from Cartoon Network, and it's 50's/60's styled crap.

  • i despise pwerpuff girls z. its like theyre constantly trying to get across, "HEYYY!! HEY IM CUTE! HEY YOU IM CUTE!! IM SO FREAKIN CUTE."

    yeh, didnt work D:

  • wow....i never look at the title and i was like.....danm that looks EXACLY like power puff girls!!!!

  • Wasn't Sailor Moon and Powerpuff Girls Z made by the same creator? Or were my eyes playing tricks on me...

  • neither, lol, its just generic magical girls anime xD

  • dont copy sailor moon!!!!!!!!!!! thats not fair the starlights deserve that awesome theme music to their transformation! >:O *come into the room with me* not yaten im writing a comment! *so..*

  • THEY DID NOT COPY SAILOR MOON!!!! WTH??

Just because Sailor Moon was the first Magic Girl Anime doesn't mean evry other one copied it!

Do you say This show copied this show because it was the first ever comedy show? NO!!!

I ♥ Sailor Moon AND PPGZ and think they're both awesome animes!

Do we really have to debate it???

  • actually sailormoon wasn't the first and it copied a another anime before it..not meaning to sound like a know it all.SAILORMOON AND PPGZ ROCK!!!!!

  • oh i see what u mean the first anime was astro boy and astro is sounds like the universe

in other words sailor moon was the first anime of girls fighting together but im starting to think they copied astro boy O_O

  • yeah but it was some other transfoming girl anime they copied

  • no ur wrong sailor moon was the first transforming girl anime they didnt copy anything except astro boy

  • research Cutie Honey.

  • OMG but my dad told me it was the first

but sailor moon looks older than cutie honey :/

  • sailormoon popularized the transforming genre more cause cutie honey wasn't all that popular and the very first transforming cartoon was some Sally the witch or something so

  • What's wrong with my comment? It's my opinion, and I don't like PPGZ. Why you guys are blaming me for that?

  • Well, guys he's got a point. I mean, I don't really AGREE with that point but he's just saying what he thinks.

  • Naoko Takeuchi (creator of sailor moon) actually revolutionized anime. She created the styles of transformations and attack sequences that most anime include today.

  • Exactly

  • Personally, I hate PPGZ. It's somewhat like odd cartoonish storylines badly-thrown into some stupid anime-styled storyboards. Sailor Moon is WAY better, despite being repetitive.

  • TokyoMewMew WAY copied SailorMoon

    so did Mermaid Melody.

this is nthing compared to Sailormoon :p

  • and?

    its just anime

    get over it

    Sailor Moon is a classic

  • you only shown my point

get over it sailor moon aint the only one

    its just a anime

  • @JordnMatthw did u like sailor moon?

  • dude... in japan, apparently, it's an honor to copy other shows from 'back in the day' do you people out there realize how many things copy sailor moon? AND sailor moon apparently was based off of some old story from the ancient days (I could be wrong though, but it's something about a spring princess idk). but still, there are more animes that copy that... but the powerpuff is just a rip off of the american show in general...

oh, and im not trying to be rude to anyone in general :D

  • if you think about it, they kinda didnt copy Sailor Moon. Because they transformations are longer then Sailor Moon's are. But people can think what they want. They are entitled to their own opinion.

  • Sorry, but even turning it into an anime is not going to get me interested in it.

  • japanese powerpuff girls looks better than american powerpuff girls

  • yeah Japanese PPGZ looks better than the original PPG's ,but the original's dont need to henshin(transform),thats where japanese animes annoyes me,the characters must transform to fight..

  • not all

sally the witch (which was made in the 60's ) in the first season she dont transform at all

  • @Huneiyue hell yeah

  • @Huneiyue i know

  • @Huneiyue They look more worked on, but the american is a classic.

  • @Huneiyue so true

  • their transformation is awesome ♥

  • i think it's similar because the creator of sailor moon did the character design for ppg anime

    just fyi :)

  • who the heck is making my coment poor XD

  • its awsome youre cool

  • sailor moon wasnt the first magical girl anime and iv seen sailor moon copy tiny tiny bits of other past anime but not much

iv always thought the girl in cutey honey looked alot like sailor venus but im not saying that copying. ppl have got to learn that magical girl animes(including ones before sailor moon)all look alike, ppgz has is own story and features iv only seen a few eps and to me its nothing like sailor moon

why cant ppl get over that its a magical girl anime not sailor moon

  • I'm aware of that, and I agree. I wish people would stop doing that too, but this was just for fun really.

  • lol but iv got to say .... the powerpuff girls dance was matching the music but thats not copying

a anime that is copying sailor moon would have the same story, tranformations and attacks

  • @Troublethecat

Cutie Honey was done by the same animators and the same company which wanted to continue Sailor Moon's success and as a result radically changed the character designs to look like Naoko's.

  • @Troublethecat i now sailor moon isn't the only magical girl anime out there

  • Comment removed

  • @beckytheangel that's not true MewMew tokyo was the first transformation chick anime

  • @FoolishTriplets Tokyo Mew Mew's manga wasn't even made until the late 1990s... Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (the anime) I'm fairly sure ended in the early 90s?

...maybe it's the first YOU'VE seen but Tokyo Mew Mew is much younger in age than Sailor Moon...

  • you guys r dumb to think they are copying they all have something different so cut the crap stop spreading rumors

  • Jeez, I should have said that I don't actually think that. I just decided to do this for the fun of it and it just so happened I got the idea from someone else's comment on it.

  • amazing

  • I dont get why ppl say anything like CardcaptorSakura/Mew Mew Power/PPG Z r copycats of sailor moon, they all fall under the magical girl genre, and now A LOT of anime that even aren't magical girl have transformation sequences. If u want copying, then what about that person who made the flash anime that they made using sailor moon transformations and other anime characters AS the characters? THAT is copywright there.

  • True, but Sailor Moon did start the Magical Girl genre of anime, so whatever follows will be compared with Sailor Moon.

  • Well it shouldn't thats just stupid. Really really stupid.

  • eso es una muy mala imitacion de sailor moon!

  • are they really the powerpuff girls???? the seem to be more....grown...woooooow

  • I don't know, I have never seen this version, but I noticed this is powerpuff girls Z, so yeah maybe they are grown up there.

  • rhis are ppg z and its from japan and they are like a super hero they have secret identity or so i heard

  • my god the animation is so un real , you know how hard is to do movements like those!! the japanese are so great at animation!! better than anyone in the entire world!!!

JAPANESE IS THE BEST WHEN IT COMES TO ANIMATION!!!

  • the original is a lot better than Z!

  • Power Puff Girls Z isn't copying Sailor Moon, it's just that some people who helped put with Sailor Moon got involve with this anime too

  • I wish the original powerpuff girls would comeback!!

    Bri

  • where r u ppl geting transformation music without a voice

  • B,B &B (blossum buttercup and bubbles) a long time ago,hii that was funny!

  • it do me thin on the power puff girls

  • awsome!I like the music!!!

  • esto es una mierdaaaaaa, esta copiado de SAILOR MOON y de las chicas super poderosas!!!!!

  • is there a show like this?!

  • yea. its called power puff girls z. its coming 2 the US next year i think

  • C'est trop mignon^^ is look like magical dorémi do know ??

  • Well, it is another anime...They tend to all look similar.

  • oui. i saw doremi when i was a kid

  • where do you get this msuic from where do you download someone plz help

  • go to sailormusic(dot)net then click anime albums, then look for "sailormoon sailorstars music collection vol. 2" this song is the 11th track "Star Power Make Up!"

  • Kawaii! They're so cute! Is this actually a video, or did you make it up yourself?

  • the three look like blossom, bubbles and buttercup!is that on purpose?

  • Nice rock you got there.

  • Yup. They ARE Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup in their anime form. The series was remade by the Japs.

  • yes. This is the power puff girls z, a seires made in Japan

  • that fits

  • Hehe yeah Power Rangers was hugely popular over here. But I think Ninja Turtles would be the most popular before Sailor Moon came out.

  • i know my Aunt had to wait in a huge line for one Power Ranger toy once!

  • Dont like the henshin (too loli and dont like the 50's diner waitress look) but i heart the music.

  • i love the music!

  • apart from this, i only like the outer senshi music in the sailor moon japanese. good job!

  • I don't get it..it's Powerpuff girls in anime, dancing in their underwear and vests? No thanks.

ps. Buttercup's a girl in the anime? They're better drawn in that crazy type drawing Cartoon Network used it.

  • Of course buttercup (Kaoru) Is girl xD

  • powerpuff girls z is better than the ones of U.S.A, the unes of U.S.A are garbage

  • I figure the reason why everyone talks about "Sailor Moon" is not that it was something new in "magical girl" stories but because it was the anime that got the overseas exposure on Cartoon Network and showed how far anime had come since "Speed Racer". I daresay that, even after the English dubs cut supernaturally-good parts out of the first season, what was left had better-written characters (even with the slapstick) than any non-movie animation from the U.S.

  • I can't say for sure this is accurate because I can't remember where I read it, but I've read that the original Japanese "Power Rangers" was before "Sailor Moon", was very popular then, and that the original sailor manga ("Codename: Sailor V") was an attempt to join the mad rush of "Power Rangers"-like mangas. Of course, if so, "Sailor Moon" would've been even more "Power Ranger"ish with 5 heros rather than one.

  • If you can take Wikipedia's word for it, "magical girl" anime & manga were inspired in the 60's by - of all things - the Japanese dub of "Bewitched".

You could improve on "Bewitched" pretty easily (after a while, the plots were so repetitive that "TV Guide" gave up describing them), and a lot of artists did improve on it.

  • Magical Girl genre has been around for a long time. Hime-chan no Ribbon and Wedding Peach came before Sailormoon. Even Saint Seiya, which is a Magical BOY anime, came before Sailormoon. Transformations into magical soldiers is NOT a new concept. They really just took Powerpuff Girls (genetically altered/scientifically created superheroes, which is a common American plottheme) and rewrote them for a more Japanese genre (the magical girl).

  • power puff girls on mangá

  • They aren't truely copying Sailor Moon, though the design's transformation e.t.c, may make people think that the creators of this show are copying Sailor Moon, that is understandble where as the designs are just about the same. But the moral of this show however is not. If you look at it that way, Besides, whats argueing about it gonna do. It won't change anything ^O^

  • Aside from the fact that the girls are wearing pleated skirts, their designs are not anything like Sailor Moon and that one detail doesn't count. People who think that remind me of my mom back when she would look at any anime girl wearing a japanese school girl uniform and almost automatically say "Sailor Moon." *sighs*

Not that I mean to offend anyone, but that is still silly.

  • true xD

  • better than the powerpuff girl but u must remember, many shows copy sailormoon, ecspecially the transformation

  • It's a genre stupid! A genre! No one is copying anyone you stupid idiot! DX How many times do people have to say it before other people get it? That and Sailor Moon didn't come first so just shut up!

  • well, how would you really know for sure?

  • Do the Sailor Moon transformations have them miving around alot and dancing? Momoko a princess?

Just ask anyone who knows anything about the history of anime. Sailor Moon is the anime that made the magical girl genre popular in the U.S. and it was one of the frist with a group of magical girls who fought together, but that doesn't mean those who came after copied them in a way that counts as such.

  • o, but it seems really alike to sailor moon. THe tranformations. -_-. yes, the sailor moon transformation does have alot of moving around and dancing(kinda).

  • Well, Sailor Moon's transformations are graceful, subdued and ballet-ish and these are jerky-hip-hop-ish and energetic. Plus the senshi lose all their clothes and look they're made of energy while the girls get the first part of their outfit right away. There aren't very many similarities aside from the usual "hold up henshin item and say a special phrase and their clothes change magically" thing you see in all Magical Girl anime.

  • neh, guess ur right ><. thanx for pointing it out =D

  • They look like the powerpuff girls XD! Just a lil bit taller

  • WOW!!!!

  • buttercup looks like shes made out of rubber or something.....

  • they are the japanesse version of the powerpuff girls!!!

  • ***** You idiots! The guy who did the character designs for this show is the same guy who did the character designs for Sailor Moon! So they are NOT copying.

  • Um. No they didn't. They're not copying Sailor Moon, but person who designed the Sailor Moon characters did not do the character designs for this show. >.>

  • exactly.

  • This is the true powerpuff girls, right? Or is this one the remake?

  • no. it is remade and i got proof.

in the aknoledgement they included cartoon network.

  • Are you serious they made another ppg? i like the oringal one they use 2 show on cartoonnetowrk but this is good

  • power puff girls is obvisoly the english version of that so i like this better

  • this is actually someone the japanese copied off the usa

  • oh wow lol

  • They didn't "copy" off of anything. From what I gather it was at least partly cartoon network and the orginal creators idea to create PPGZ to begin with so it can't be called "copying." This, my dears, is what they call a spin off.

  • SO much better than the original puffs...

  • if this was the powe puff girlz i would actually watch it but there small anime girls like reini so there really copywriting that

  • Anyone who says this copies Sailormoon are retarded. Sailormoon would be copying Kamen Rider and Sentai then, too. PPGZ is a parody of the "henshin heroes" and sentai. That is why Blossom said "red" is always the leader, and the belts are parodies of Kamen Rider belts. The show is like a tribute/parody using PPG as the base. Know your roots, and shut up all you complainers.

  • I agree. It's just a long standing, time honored, American anime fandom tradition of sorts that every anime with transforming magical girls (especially with more than one girl) is called a Sailor Moon at least once. It's funny, isn't it? XD

  • COOL!

  • ok now that is cuit

  • it's not actually copying sailor moon, it looks as if it's copying ojamajo doremi!

  • Sailor Stars? What an odd choice of transformation music. So the Rowdyruff Boys change into the Powerpuffs or what?

  • I cannot believe zees! I was thinking, "omg.. it's like they're Sailor Moon Puffs!" But no!! Sailor Star Puffs! OMG>

  • powerpuff girls z how crap its like sailor moon kinda of cos the have coped it with doing transformations and winks club i used to like the normal powerpuff girls

  • yeah.. i liked the power puff girls looking like that! and the starlights theme fitted well.. i love that theme!!

  • lol thats awsome:)
