The most transparent with no noise is the mad professor forest green compressor . Still this is a great compressor , but the bjf took 1st place when compared to this personally .

How do you get your demos to sound professional like this? Could you give a video or just tell me what mics, pre's, etc. Pretty much everything you use to make your reviews.

I'm really torn between this pedal and the Wampler Ego Compressor. The Wampler is a lot squishier, but what I like about the Diamond is that since it's an opto-compressor, it's more of a "leave on all the time" pedal. I think I like that more than the Ross-style squash-the-hell-out-of-it compressors.

I wish all pedal demos were done like this one :

- good sounding (at least good enough to make one's opinion)

- good playing, clean tone, no useless amounts of drive

- informative and complete, going through different settings, from min to max

- quite entertaining (if you dig this kind of humour.. I do)

Excellent video Thomas - I was on the fence between a Carl Martin and the Diamond and, after this vid, I'm going to go with the Diamond. It just sounds really really great on your video. I also love the humor. Why do gear reviews always have to be humorless? Keep making videos.

yes it is. though my experience with compressors is limited.

I have not yet played the EHX.

While Sound is always depending on Taste, I think the low noise level of this thing puts it the top ranks.

this is without a doubt the best compressor pedal. I had a janglebox, which was either too bright or too dark but the EQ on this pedal seems to work really well. Good demonstration!

This is a Hamer with 8 years old Fender noiseless PUs. Amp is a Mesaboogie Subway blues through a Palmer speaker simulator.
