thankyou for posting this video,a reality based video that shows the real life of pilots and pilot boat captains,a career that many of us take for granted.these men take risks to get the job done so that we may enjoy goods that are traded between countries. I take my hat off to these brave people, they have my utmost respect. gotta have to have nerves of steel just to climb the ladder, then after that they have to navigate the vessel to it's of port of call,, amazing individuals!!!!
Oh gosh.. I'd like to be a professional sailor. I have been on the Atlantic during heavy gales, and it was not fun. Anyway, I cannot see working in nonsense office worth seafaring.... God bless you all on the seas!
Such a Dangerous job...And I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Friend.the Sea is a wild thing, and climbing from one vessel to another must be so difficult as both are moving, and there is a risk of falling between the ships.. This is a job for the Brave, and all seafarers have my respect..The Sea is a fascinating element, but an unforgiving one.god Protect all at sea.
i believed most of these guy become a pilot are not because of the money. Some of these guy have to quit their sea career for some reason.Their thought, pride, love, obsession and passion to the sea are with them for the rest of their life, so the closest job criteria that met the above is MARINE PILOT..........best regard...from fellow .... Port Klang Pilot....
it brings me goose pumps to see this it brings me back to to my night mare i have gone fishing out at sea various time for 20 days and i can tell u from self experience its unforgettable specially when you see this massive waves crash into the boat its just mind boggling you ask your self what r u doing but u cant do nothing but hope for the best
@RedrosessNL @1:59 is American built mid 50's cargo ship is empty and ancored, the big swells roughens up the ship but the other ship is under power so there is no collision course both ships are safe.
this video has been made for the memory of our pilot friend who lost his life during disembarcation at Istanbul straith. The maker also donets this film to the seaman of the world whome we appreciate their work. Obviously we do not get such storms here but may get sveral storms during december-february period.BlackSea and Aegean Sea enterance may get 7-8 gale force.
Thanks my mate I believe you made this video for the memory of our pilot brother Capt Lutfi Berk who lost his life durig disembercation from the ship called M/V REGINA V. I was the person who took him to the hospital in an ambulance desperet to bring him to life back.Unfortunatelly he was already passed away which I did not know. The videeo made me sad again and my sad memories come back. never the less show must go on. We are here and never forget him
Hello again 3 years later and come to watch this awesome video again.Live long oh you fellow sea travelers.Oh what fun it is to ride on the great ocean waves.
To ADtranzer, the number one power at sea is the sea as demonstrated so beautifully by this film, seafarers never forget that. I spent 23 years at sea, it can be beautiful, awe inspiring and occasionally frightening but the first thing you learn is to never turn your back on it. Seafarers always stop what they are doing and change course to go to the aid of a fellow seafarer, it doesn't matter who he is or what nationality.
@loddon82 Three things man cannot control when raging....Fire,the sea and woman!! I wholeheartedly agree with your views....my father was a seamen and often said the same things!
@ADtranzer What a bull shit to post under this movie. This is made to respect a pilot who lost his live. And than you start talking about this bullshit.
@ADtranzer Exactly.....so unnecessary to bring up the subject of the Greek navy under the prevailing circumstances. Like "teamspiritpsv" said..."this video was made to commemorate the loss of the life of a pilot."
The most awesome storm seas video on youtube.....especially check out 1.46 ship in serious trouble -prop stopped, no headway, almost broadside on to massive waves.
Yes that is it gloucester. Check out on you tube vidoes for plot boat can do there are 13 segment to the story. my dad was Captian Frank Quirk. Let me know what you think. it really gives a up close look at being at sea in a major storm.
great job I know 1st hand my Dad ran the Pilot Boat Can-Do based out of Glou-cester MA I often went with him on jobs. my Dad lost his life trying to save the Coast Guard during the blizzard of 1978 in MA. I wish all pilots and pilot boat Captains good luck be safe.
Video semplicemente splendido.
Fantastic editing and a great choice of music to go with this video. Thanks very much for this video! And I also say greetings to all mariners and seafarers; may you be safe on all the mighty oceans in this big ole' world of ours. Greetings from Ware, Massachusetts........

Interesting video but why did the author include film footage shot on the Great Lakes as well as the Ferry Cariboo which runs between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in a video about the Turkish ship pilots. The story opf pilots is exciting enough without fluffing with unrelated video.
Listen 18 yrs at sea here. Done death ship, black jobs etc. Deadliest Catch........All made up with designer gear-goat beards-and pre scripted bull crap.
