Electronic drums are great for practice, but you really develop terrible bass drum pedal technique by playing.

It is a necessity to keep the actual beater as far off the head between notes. How do you expect to play fast bass singles if you have to load up first? If you allow the beater to bounce back to as far back as possible after each note, the bass drum not only sounds better when recorded because it is not as muted, you can play louder and faster.

I own an electric kit for two reasons. 1. Because I can play late at night if I wish and not disturb anyone. The other is it is easier to mix down. As you can see in this video they can easily be mixed to hear everything and not over power anything. Great job on the playing man!
