the actual assigning isnt working... its plugged in, ive selected midi, and the mpd32 is set to LiveLite. I have no idea why this is not working, because it looks like it is normal. the bottom even says "press a midi key or move a midi controller to assign..."
Hi, for some reason when i assign multiple midi files to different pads on my axiom (in abletone live 8) they all start playing at the same time. I mean, i have one midi file that is one track using a particular vst instrument, and another midi file on a seperate track/ vst instrument, and each is assigned to a different pad on the asiom keyboard. but, when i touch one of the pads, both files start playing. Do you know what the problem might be? thanks alot
the only way you can play tech/dubstep music live is by bobbing your head to the beat so you look like a tool, its wrong i know, but thats what you do
i wish you would have run your audio different because this sounds like it might be cool but from where i'm at it sounds like that baseline just doesn't match at all ! Good stuff though man !
I love the tune bro. Just got a Axiom 25 and Ableton live #8.? super pumped to get started. Back in the day on Protools I hated midi shit .That was like 1996, a lot has changed!!!!!! It was all about analog. Thank you for your time bro.Keep it up!
HEY i am using ableton and i tried assigining a knob the way you said but after i go into map mode and turn a controller then go back, nothing happens!!?!?!?

Can you do a tutorial on how to map your faders to multiple channels like you've done? (let me clarify because I"m awful at communicating ideas). How do I have my faders shift from channels 1-8 to 9-16? I can't seem to be able to get that to work.
@jazzyrocka12@jazzyrocka12 Hey maybe you can achieve this by creating two separate programs on the UC33, Program01[P01] can control Faders 1-8 and Program2[P02] can control Faders 9-16. You can change the CC# on each fader to keep things a liittle more organized and also configure them to the same MIDI Channel. You have the program buttons on the UC for fast access to each bank.
Hi.May I ask one question Mrcuss?I am trying to use Korg Kontrol 49 with Ableton Live,I ve tried the MIDI mapping but when I assign anything to keys for example like a piano or even wave sounds, theres a few seconds gap( between the time I pressed the keys and the time I hear the sound coming out.I ve done all the settings as it should be. Im using a Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop with AMD Sempron,2.10 GHZ,3GB RAM,Vista Service Pack 1,32 bit operating system,NO external sound card yet .Thank you
@japanluv Its probably not a midi issue but an audio issue.
There might be a lag between the time the computer receives the MIDI Data and the time it sends the audio.
Go to Audio Preferences and play with the Buffer size (i think default is 512samples)
You can lower the buffer size little by little til you hear no latency. Try not to lower it too much thogh cause it might but a bigger strain on your CPU.
@hungryhippoedwin2 thank you for your answer.I am new to these things, though I m watching a lot of videos about it.Whats your favourite DAW?Im trying to decide which one to use...
@japanluv I would suggest looking at the pros and cons of each daw before buying one. Maybe try the demo versions of some you"re interested in and go from there... see which one catches you attention most. I personally use ableton for everything, simply because its so versatile and i like the fact that you can use it as a performance tool as well.
I have an Oxygen8. Every time a click on an item to map and move one of my 8 knobs it sets the Note/Control to "CC6" and all 8 knobs do the same thing. Any idea what I am doing wrong? (great track btw)
how do we go on about mapping "shortcuts" which are not visible mappable controls on the gui, for example 2 buttons on the midi controller which selects through next/previous track and have pan/volume control for Selected track only... possible?
mh your vid is easy to understand, but i use win7 64bit and when i enter the midi mode, select a control and then turn the nob on my axiom 25 nothing happens. the list remains empty all the time :( looking for some help

hey, i have a yamaha psr 295, M-Audio Oxygen8v2 And A Korg Nano Pad And nano Control. how To I Get My 2 Keys to seperate e.g one set only playes one vsti and the other one only plays another vsti, ? im soo confised, Im new o ableton and in dusing it live in 2 weeks So HELP! :D :D Please :)
First make sure the latest version of the drivers for the MPD 24 are installed on your computer. Turn device on then start ableton. Next - go to the midi config menu under preferences and select mpd24 from the drop down list of midi control surfaces. Assuming this is your primary controller select USB Audio Device as your input and output. If you have multiple controllers Youll have to toggle down to USB Audio Device (2), (3), and so on.
does the foam behind your monitors really help? i want to start sound proofing my room but dont know where to start. always wondered if that helped having sections of it.
Even though these are only 5" monitors (ported in the rear) the foam in that area helps cut down on reverb in my room a good bit and slightly smooths out my low bass signals.
The Axiom works in Automap mode, or Free mode with Ableton Live. If you switch the controller to programs 18, 19, or 20 - the controls will map themselves to certain controls in Live. (See my older video for directions on this) If you want to freely map the controls on the axiom use programs 1-17 and open the midi map editor and start assigning!!
nice vid! i enjoyed seeing the live interactivity between instrument and performer. this really encourages me to try it on my own. looking forward to the next one citizen green.
