Not only your iPhone 4 didn't exist AT ALL at that time, but it wasn't long after the 3Gs was released, lacking ANY sort of multitasking. When the N900 was multitasking like that in Autumn 2009, Android was hardly usable and the iPhone didn't multitask at all.

@rickboy89 This phone is NOT better than android. The touch screen on this phone is resistive not capacitive, so the response isn't the best from fingers and it doesn't support multi-touch. I have the Nexus One, and I can tell you that phone is waaaay better. :) I highly recommend an android phone.

As far as im concerned the n900 desperately NEEDS to be overclocked for it to even be usable. ive owned and loved mine for about 6 months now i think, and honestly if i was still stuck on a measley 600mhz i'd have lost my mind. to get any sort of performance out of it i have to crank the cpu up to 825mhz...even then flash videos are still choppy as anything, and it takes ages for things to load. today i was browsing the web and an impprtant call came in and it just FROZE..

Anyone complaining about this device shouldnt have one. Its not toy like iPhone, its a device you can make YOUR OWN in a way that you cannot do with any other Smart Phone on the market. Its the fastest, most robust and modifiable device out there.

Its such a great device that MOBIO has just completed the integration of both face and speaker recognition algorithms on Nokia N900. And it works amazingly.

Why did they choose N900? Because its the best.

If you watched the video carefully enough, you'd notice that I also used a finger to switch between homescreens. The display of the N900 is very sensitive, nearly as much as capacitive displays, and at the same time much more precise (when using stylus).

What is your definision of a "real touchscreen"? The early Nokia touchdeviceses uses a restictive touch and ALL newer touchphones from Nokia uses the Capacitive screen.

There is pros and cons on both those technologies :)

Ive got the n900 and i'm not convinced.

I have to charge it every day and I only activated two of the four HomeScreens and I don't have bluetooth and wifi switched on the whole time, like other people can because they have better mobile phones.

And to send and receive mms you need to download an app, and you always have to switch on your mms connection to receive/open or send an mms. It's complicated and annoying.

well i own a N900. i am not completely satisfied with it .. bcoz

1. little expensive ..

2. Battery life sucks ... ( 30 - 35 hrs )

3. When i bought once it got dead withen 5 days , then nokia had to change it again ..

4. Resistive touch .. not too smooth as Iphone ..

But performance is very good , never freezes while multi tasking.. so i will give it 2.5 out of 5.

guys for those who wanna get this phone... try it ... im iphone user ... i tried android ios 4.0 and wm6.5 and this ... i can say that this is cool... space= 48gb max ...camera5mp fantastic sound2big speaker... fantastic software good.... however... there is downside for everything ... no on screen buttons... to back you have to click the space in between icons.... flash content is buggy still... screen = small compare to htc hd2... thats all i can say ... its good and this phone can last years

@prayfawind You don't need PC Suite or any other software for that. N900 works just like a standard USB memory. On my Ubuntu PC I just drag'n'drop music files in it and after a while they appear to the media player.

The n900 is an amazing device, i can't find anything wrong with it AT ALL! Just...as long as i keep it away from Nokia's own software (cough...doesn't recognise ovi suite or a decent up-to-date Ovi Maps...cough).. and keep it away from windows 7 (cough...no device stage...cough)...and keep it away from service providers (cough...no SIM services and no free online services eg: Vodafone Live/Virgin Vibe...cough)
