Sure grit is part of the sound of distortion on a guitar , but it is more then that. It is the tone and the mix. A lot of this stuff is mixed diffrent on CD. Base is louder , or guitar is softer , voice is louder etc. It happens again and again with most record to CD recordings. I can't even listen to AC DC unless it is a record or an old tape. Same goes with Led Zep.

Watching it again today. It is so good to hear that bottom sound and all the crunch. I have not heard it like this in a long time. Of course this is not as clear as the records , but it sounds better then any of these awful CDs today. YOu know they have done tests that show that old records produce a pleasent REM state in the mind that CD's fail to do.

You either get 'em or you don't. AC DC is the most down to earth, humble, HONEST band to EVER have been. There sound....lyrics....personaliti­es....all honest to the core. Raw, energized angst....full of piss-and-vinegar. I'm 42....been playing guitar since I was 8. I'm an instructor....a fairly intelligent guy....and if I got to hang with these guys for an hour....I'd probably be crying. They are just as REAL as it gets.
