Eh, I don't think eternity would be bad. Some things just take longer to do than others, so, obvious, you couldn't pack it into the space of a single saturday. There are MMORPG's, music, Space exploration (Which is possible if science makes us immortal).

I think very few have given any thought to how horrible eternity would be.

I gave it none until I started writing vampire novels. Now I'm convinced most would be desiring death within two to three hundred years. Eternity is considerably longer than a few hundred years.

I think "Beta" means they are doing testing. They ask people to test out their site or product to see if it works and to find any flaws. I could be wrong about that.

Alpha test is preliminary testing is done purely in controlled environements to get something working.

Beta testing is where you have a product that is still undergoing being built up. It's not finished yet.

For quite some time Betas were done behind closed doors/delivered to people that won some drawing or were priveledged and they give feedback to show if the product works and how it can be better improved.

Now betas are more often open for many many more people to try out than they used to
