@bushwacka1974 Thats coorect,even if a child is overweight,its should be just healthy food given to the child and then he/she would grow out of 'chubbiness' but Lena was not in any way chubby at all.

Debs,thank you very much for this clip... More so coz I was unable to see this the first time around... What amazed me was her confidence in interviews,at that age... I think she became shyer,with them as she got older... But she was always wonderfully entertaining... Whether in interview or singing... Love C.

To be honest, if her weight was never mentioned, it wouldn't have been an issue. I think if she wasn't pushed into losing weight, and they waited for her to get taller, she would have looked slimmer anyway. I don't think she was fat at all, I never did when I was younger either.

I've never seen her look fat ever. In the clips from her final series she was much too far in the other direction but by then the damage was done.

Excellent clear quality tape, I see thought what people say on here about people then encouraging her to lose weight from what she said. I think the weight thing was pushed onto her. As children that young generally dont think about calories or they weight problems, well anyone with children here are welcome to dissagree if they wish as I have no children myself, but I never thought about weight when I was her age.

This honest interview, just proves, that those around Lena, were encouraging her to diet and telling her she was too fat for TV. They should be ashamed of what they did to this poor girl.

The quality of this video is amazing! She must have been around 13 and talking of being fat and dieting. Putting that kind of notion into the mind of such a young, vulnerable girl would later have tragic consequences. Russell touched on the subject with compassion, and made Lena feel so at ease
