I took shrooms for the first time on Saturday and it was great. I started with a .5 and gradually ate a bag of 2.5 grams through the night. That my friends is the best way to do it. It was the best experience I have ever had.

same here man, i only did 1.5 grams all at the same time on a pretty empty stomach, i put the mushrooms between two sour cream and cheddar ruffles, couldn't even taste anything, did it in 3 ruffle sandwiches. took about 30 minutes then i started noticing a body high and it just intensified, best body high i've ever had. then i noticed that when i stared at things they would wave around and distort, especially at my friends cement textured wall, best experience of my life

Of course, I'm referring to the Let's Grow Mushrooms series. It absolutely doesn't get any easier than that. If that Tek seems complicated, don't grow mushrooms. Stick to making methamphetamine or MCAT or something. (kidding obviously). Shrooms are so worth every minute you put into them. The entire process is extremely fun if you are a self-starter, and eating your sacred gems is like icing on the cake. (pun very much intended.)

Just remember to, in the words of The Great Terence McKenna, "Weigh Your Dose!" If you're making soup for yourself, weigh your dry 5g, and eat it however you want.

3. is a computer fan a good idea ( i would use a timer to fan the inside 3 times per hour - using a fan that spins slow, so it would't fan out the moisture out of the box

@scorppion B+ are actually quite sizable mushrooms compared to some other strains I've seen. But in general if you have a LOT of pins the individual shrooms will be smaller in size and weight, and with a sparser pinset they can grow quite large - ie: drying out to be over 5g for just one shroom.

He didn't even change the water or anything. He got a massive pin set and most of the mushrooms got to over a foot tall had ridiculous gurth and caps the size of your hand. I thought the massive cakes were contaminated and I was like you can have em if you want. Imagine how pissed I was when he pulled that grow off without any experience

@zackery5o5 no, i prefer not to case myself, although a dunk and roll for cake style is essential for keeping humidity up on the cake. if you have a really really dry atmosphere the casing can help you keep the surface of the myc moist for pinning/growth

@zackery5o5 pinning triggers are many, but one of the primary ones is that myc has to run out of nutrition before it'll switch to fruiting mode. Plus, you'll want to mix your rye into some bulk substrate (coir/verm is a good choice) because apparently you won't get mush from rye fruiting directly.

Hey guys, i have a problem and i need some advice....

I inoculated spores into jars around 6 days ago .... and mycelium still hasnt began to grow....

I also injected some leftover spores ( 1ml) into a flower box on the hallway.... and there's mycelium on it....

What's the reason for this....

@Smaug sometimes it takes a bit longer for the spores to get going, depending on their age. Give the jars another week before you give up on 'em. As for the flower box stuff, I'm sure that's not healthy mycelium - the reason why you have to be so sterile with jars is because other things grow faster than myc and their faster overgrowth generally chokes out new myc from starting in the first place.

I just think the mycelium in the flower indicates that spores were good... So I prosume if something is wrong it's the jars... but of course I will wait atleast a week more...

@Gr4tefuldead if you live where winter is dry, that's a season that a simple desk fan blowing over the shrooms can dry 'em. When it's humid out, a dehydrator is your best choice, because I don't think even silica crystals would suck enough moisture out to be cracker dry.

@Gr4tefuldead mushrooms don't need light like green plants do, so access to indirect light - artificial or not - would be good enough. In general, the more light you can give it the better the grow, same with the more active misting and fanning, the more product. However, they're pretty resilient and all the attention isn't required until you want to improve your yield.

@14ku2sh0 Many mushroom growers will say "a cube is a cube" (psilocybe cubensis). For the most part the strains grow similarly with a similar degree of ease, and potency depends on the genetics of the spores that started the process.

That being said, Penis Envy is a strain of shroom that is widely sought for its high potency and unique fruits - but the rest of the cubensis family aren't really hugely different from one another.
