Dont reopen with after Vanish with Mutilate, your Ambush should Always crit with a 50% if your geared properly, so use that for a little more burst. Even garrote helps more then wasteing it on a Mut.
4k DPS with t9 is pretty terrible, anyone with a good roatation pulls 6K+ Reguardless.

No matter the weapon speed instant will proc the same, deadly however, will proc less with a slow weapon. Also, at 5 stacks deadly will proc the poison on the other weapon, making it a dps increase to keep it on the fast weapon.

@exzise My 4.7 GS Lock does between 4 and 5k DPS self buffed. If I was sitting on the kind of gear you are I'd easily be pulling much more than 7k DPS.
I think you need to look at how you're playing. Maybe get some addons for timers and what not, because you're missing something somewhere, and if you really have 5.3k GS, it's not in your gear.

@zibracakes95 Yeah I'll normally vanish (bringing overkill back into the roto) and slam the target withi garrote. If vanish is on CD and no other bleed effect on target, ill just Shiv and ruptuer with the one combo point.

@pentacle It's probably cos of the resilience change since s8 came out. In pvp, resilience reduces the damage they take from other players twice as much as before including criticals. About 1.2k+ Res, will reduce damage taken from criticals by 30%. So.. just stack AP in your gear, you prolly should know this for pvp and maybe get better weapons :).

Great Video. I just hit 62 on my rogue last night, so I just got envenom Woot! specc'd down to HfB and I kept forgetting about it. I have been doing more PVP though. Is this a rotation that you would use on trash or just on bosses? Here is my rogue, how is she looking stat wise? Femnikita on Alexstrasza. I know the talents are messed up, I was trying to be a little better at PVP, was getting whooped last night by level 68 dk's.

The rotation in the video would be used only during boss fights, on trash its just white damage + FoK spam. :) note: you don't use this spec in pvp. its usually 44/2/25, where you get to Preparation in sub and mutilate in assassination :). hope I helped and have fun leveling :). if your faster weapon actually does more DAMAGE, as in 10-20 damage with 1.4 speed vs 8-19 dmg with 1.8 speed, you'd waant the one with more dmg in your mainhand so it hits faster

@Zappotheclown dont exactly know why that would happen, atleast for me with 5cp and 5 stacks of deadly i get 11k crits with envenom and about 7k with eviscerate with 5cp alone. most people advise envenom though as it ignores armor
Envenom hits harder at 80 while stacking attack power, it also provides a buff that lasts longer with more combo points that increases the chance to apply poisons. Since poisons make up a huge part of our damage, keeping this buff up is extremely important.

@Zappotheclown why envenom, because speced into assassination gives poisons and that finish a power hit, plus envenom is the top finisher for damage. don't fight it... its true lol ( you will need a 5 cap of your deadly poison to crit even higher with envenom) and your probably combat spec and u hit a bit higher in eviscerate.. i hit in the 12k cap for envenom just in heroics

without rupture or garrote on the target you cant use the Hunger for Blood skill....though in raids u dont need it since theres porpably a warrior/feral druid who does bleed effects and then u can use hunger for blood without rupture :)
You have it backwards. after you reach 5 stacks of deadly poison a DP proc causes the poison that is on your main hand to proc so you're losing a lot of dps there. should always be instant on MH and deadly on OH for pve. slow MH fast OH or fast MH slow OH depending on which weapon has higher dps. but Instant always MH deadly always OH
@MadeInKorea35 Nah dude you want instant poison on your main and deadly on your off. Slower, high dps in main and faster weapon in the off hand. Google "elitistjerks" and look at the rogue section, it will tell you everything you ever needed to know.
The last time I had checked elitist jerk, they said do to the changes in poison procs your DPS will be greater if you have the faster of two daggers equal in DPS in your main hand. The poison procs over time will be greater than the Mute damage of the slower dagger in your main hand.
@vagabondoo1 correct, you want the highest dps weapon in your mainhand, (even if its just by .1) and the lower dps offhand. One of them must be fast, they can both be fast/fast. Deadly poison is always on the fast weapon.
nopeee, you either want 1slow/1fast, or 2 fast weps. You always put the highest dps of the 2 in your MH, if same dps, put the FASTER in your MH, and instant poison goes on the faster wep

it doesnt say they have to be in a specific hand, so you get more dps out of instant on the faster wep
pretty broad spectrum concidering dps is completely gear dependent... but i guess since 3.3 mutilate does 5-15% more dps than combat and sub should only EVER be used in pvp or lvling
I understand that u do garrote at the start and then after vanish u do garrote as well to get a bleed effect so that u can pop H4B. Yet i dont know what bleed effect you use to pop H4B after the initial one since u cant do garrote w.i stealth. Do you do rupture with only 1 combo just to get a bleed there long enough to pop H4B?
Regarding to the talent points, I don't think it's really good idea to spend a talent point in vigor, in the end you'll never full your energy bar in any encounter when all we do is spam muti and envenom. I found it best to spend my talent points in fleet footed because in ICC you have to move a lot like in Deathwhisper, Putricide, Blood Princes, and more... so fleet footed can save your life many many times :)

i pulled maybe 7k tops, now im at 12k+ on festergut, fleet footed is better because there are no other talents to increase dps and fleet footed helps on high movement fights
Exactly what humpp said, the movement speed increase can be the difference between getting away from that orange slime, or wiping the raid. I (as of 4 days ago) pull 11.8k DPS with the 51/18/2 spec without any armor reduction debuffs on the target. Try out the elitist jerks spreadsheet, and also take a glance or 2 at rawr, with my gear, putting points into opportunity is higher dps than relentless strikes, but on a friends, relentless strikes is better.
@Fathergodboy you are correct, the setup is almost the same, a lot of mutilate rogues in pvp, i prefer sub because it seems more fun but mut will give more burst dmg, the rotation is not even close to the same either
great guide! my gs is about 5k right now, just got back into WoW after a 3 month break, didnt know rupture was off our rotation now.. my dps went up alot.
Saurfang 25 is awesome to do as mutilate, since through the whole fight u only press muti to 4-5 cp's, and envenom, press HfB every 1 minute and activate trinkest or w/e when possible.

I still use rupture because I have the 4 piece icc bonus.
I always seem to have excess of combo points before the envenom buff dispels. And rupture crits now ^^
I do about 9-10k dps with a 5.5k GS in any non-icc raid.

Some basics for those of who are unsure on how to use this spec effectively.
- Highest DPS weapon in MH
- Lower DPS weapon in OH
Whichever one is faster, put DP on that and IP on the other.
General rotation is:
Open with Garrote > Use HfB > Use SnD > Mutilate to 4CP > Envenom > Mutilate to 4CP > Rupture > Mutilate to 4CP> Envenom and so on.
However, for HfB to work, you need a bleed effect, so if druid for example is doing bleed effects, simply remove rupture from your rotation.

@LogisticalSlack Dude you're stupid as fuck sorry to say that, but you just don't get the game. You said lower DPS weapon in OH? Are you crazy.. do you know what yo just said? Why would someone use a low dps weapon if hes able to use something better? You mean lower range damage weapon, faster weapons got less range dmg than slower, clearly. And about poisons there's no point to care where would you put instant and deadly, because you character strikes rapidly left and then right hand and so on.

@POZDRAW Yeah that was a typo, no need to get spastic, as for the poisons, you put Deadly on the offhand because your offhand applies poisons more often, because you usually use a 1.8 MH and a 1.4 OH

@LogisticalSlack You still don't get it. It doesn't matter if you put on a MH deadly and on an OH instant or opposite way. Because when your character strikes with MH the next attack will be with OH and so on.

why envenom over eviscerate? at least at 74, i crit eviscerate for 4k, and evenom only at 2.5, but everywhere i've looked says to use envenom.

@Zappotheclown dont exactly know why that would happen, atleast for me with 5cp and 5 stacks of deadly i get 11k crits with envenom and about 7k with eviscerate with 5cp alone. most people advise envenom though as it ignores armor

Envenom hits harder at 80 while stacking attack power, it also provides a buff that lasts longer with more combo points that increases the chance to apply poisons. Since poisons make up a huge part of our damage, keeping this buff up is extremely important.

@Zappotheclown why envenom, because speced into assassination gives poisons and that finish a power hit, plus envenom is the top finisher for damage. don't fight it... its true lol ( you will need a 5 cap of your deadly poison to crit even higher with envenom) and your probably combat spec and u hit a bit higher in eviscerate.. i hit in the 12k cap for envenom just in heroics

@turtlemav yea, i had my talents spec'ed for eviscerate, so it was doin a LOT more damage than envenom. However, i just respec'ed for envenom, and im doin way more damage. thanks guys. (51, 18, 2)

Envenom dosn´t consume your poison (if talents) plus, it´s this best
use for a Rogue.

ffs i got bartender4 too but people say that they can somehow edit the bars to make em look cool, i tryed that... 15minutes i tryed to figure it out, but there just isnt a way to edit em too look like some "onyx" style... can u make a really shot vid to shot how the fuck u can edit em to look cool, and delete is right after please.. i wud REALLY appreciate it

without rupture or garrote on the target you cant use the Hunger for Blood skill....though in raids u dont need it since theres porpably a warrior/feral druid who does bleed effects and then u can use hunger for blood without rupture :)

What poisons do you put on OH/MH? i do MH-Deadly Poison and OH-instant poison for dps, is that good?

You have it backwards. after you reach 5 stacks of deadly poison a DP proc causes the poison that is on your main hand to proc so you're losing a lot of dps there. should always be instant on MH and deadly on OH for pve. slow MH fast OH or fast MH slow OH depending on which weapon has higher dps. but Instant always MH deadly always OH

@MadeInKorea35 Nah dude you want instant poison on your main and deadly on your off. Slower, high dps in main and faster weapon in the off hand. Google "elitistjerks" and look at the rogue section, it will tell you everything you ever needed to know.

The last time I had checked elitist jerk, they said do to the changes in poison procs your DPS will be greater if you have the faster of two daggers equal in DPS in your main hand. The poison procs over time will be greater than the Mute damage of the slower dagger in your main hand.

@vagabondoo1 correct, you want the highest dps weapon in your mainhand, (even if its just by .1) and the lower dps offhand. One of them must be fast, they can both be fast/fast. Deadly poison is always on the fast weapon.

nopeee, you either want 1slow/1fast, or 2 fast weps. You always put the highest dps of the 2 in your MH, if same dps, put the FASTER in your MH, and instant poison goes on the faster wep

it doesnt say they have to be in a specific hand, so you get more dps out of instant on the faster wep

pretty broad spectrum concidering dps is completely gear dependent... but i guess since 3.3 mutilate does 5-15% more dps than combat and sub should only EVER be used in pvp or lvling

I understand that u do garrote at the start and then after vanish u do garrote as well to get a bleed effect so that u can pop H4B. Yet i dont know what bleed effect you use to pop H4B after the initial one since u cant do garrote w.i stealth. Do you do rupture with only 1 combo just to get a bleed there long enough to pop H4B?

in raids there will almost always be an auto bleed, if not i go offspec. but if you really need to use 1 cp ruptures

Regarding to the talent points, I don't think it's really good idea to spend a talent point in vigor, in the end you'll never full your energy bar in any encounter when all we do is spam muti and envenom. I found it best to spend my talent points in fleet footed because in ICC you have to move a lot like in Deathwhisper, Putricide, Blood Princes, and more... so fleet footed can save your life many many times :)

i pulled maybe 7k tops, now im at 12k+ on festergut, fleet footed is better because there are no other talents to increase dps and fleet footed helps on high movement fights

Exactly what humpp said, the movement speed increase can be the difference between getting away from that orange slime, or wiping the raid. I (as of 4 days ago) pull 11.8k DPS with the 51/18/2 spec without any armor reduction debuffs on the target. Try out the elitist jerks spreadsheet, and also take a glance or 2 at rawr, with my gear, putting points into opportunity is higher dps than relentless strikes, but on a friends, relentless strikes is better.

@Fathergodboy you are correct, the setup is almost the same, a lot of mutilate rogues in pvp, i prefer sub because it seems more fun but mut will give more burst dmg, the rotation is not even close to the same either

Saurfang 25 is awesome to do as mutilate, since through the whole fight u only press muti to 4-5 cp's, and envenom, press HfB every 1 minute and activate trinkest or w/e when possible.
