Yes there is a free application called "Nimi Visuals" that is supposed to give you the compiz effects.

You can do this in Vista, but there is a different way of patching the system in Vista.

Oh and yeah I should also mention that XP Visual styles won't work on Vista, so you need to look for a Vista ubuntu Visual style.

I don't use the UX theme multi patcher. I used the Vista Bricopack, which makes XP look like Vista and then from there you can use any custom theme for XP.

Fair point. The reason I did this was so that people can have their XP looking like Ubuntu as they may not want to go through the whole installation of Ubuntu.

The one I used in this video was camstudio (it's free)

in other videos I used camtasia, camtasia isn't free but it's good becuase you can zoom in on different areas and add differnt effects

but with cam studio it's simple and easy to use and it's free
