I repleace them too. Real roofers use normal flashings, and CAN apply mastic.

There is no such shingle as architectural composition 3 tab.
The shingles are either architectural or 3 tab but not both.
The easiest ways to tell the difference.
The 3 tabs have rain grooves that breaks the shingle in 3 equal parts and the architectural doesn't.

@eagleyefish Actually there once was architectural 3-tab shingles. However this is just another 3-tab piece of crap roof.
