The guy doing the voice-over is Barney Phillips and was a very popular character actor. You might remember him as the diner owner the The Twilight Zone episode 'Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up'. Also as Chief Franks in The Sand Pebbles.
"Senor Queeks Draw, these Sugar Smacks are good, I thin'!" "Hold on, Baba Looey! I'll do the thinnin' around here, and DON'T YEW FOR-GIT IT!!!" (Sorry folks, just an old man recalling one of his all-time favorite cartoon lines.)
@elc1960 Thanks, man! I used to love this cartoon. This was waaaaaayyy before everything got so PC. Could they pull off a cartoon like this today? I think La Raza would be all over that!
I can't believe these commercials are now from the good ol' days! I remember when this commercial came out, and the good ol' days was the 1920's. How time flies!
Because Kellogg's sponsored "QUICK DRAW McGRAW" in syndication from 1959 through '66 [and Saturday mornings on CBS from '63-'66], he often appeared in "integrated" commericals for the sponsor, even if Hanna-Barbera DIDN'T animate them. This is a rare example of a first season (1959-'60) ad without any animation, and Barney Phillips as the lead voice-over...
That's Barney Phillips. he was the voice of Mr. Kool Aid in the late 50's, early 60's. remember the Twilight Zone episode where all the people get off the bus and there's one person in the cafe that doesn't belong. barney's the guy behind the counter with the third eye on his forehead.
Wasn't it wonderful before computer animation!

I'd love to see the spot where Indians mistake Quick Draw's calliope steam as smoke signals.

The cereals back then all had "sugar" in the name. Sugar Smacks, Sugar Pops, Sugar Frosted Flakes. It's a wonder our teeth didn't fall out.

Thanks FTS. I couldn't place the voice-over guy.
Any guesses who did the drawing? Maybe Ken Muse?
