Oo, its more that the area where all these names with -itzki come from belonged to the holy roman empire of the german nation and what came after it. so more or less since 1000 a.d.. germany went far in an eastward direction before the 3rd Reich. after it, poland got these eastern lands of germany because russia took a part of poland. watch the maps of german reich, weimar republic and holy roman empire
