  • Hi, this tool looks amazing. I'm just wondering if there's a way to

select the answers with the keyboard, as in a real piano, instead of

    the mouse. Thanks.

  • So will this help me just play a song on the piano by hearing the song?? Ive always wanted to play piano by ear.

  • awesome video! Good job on making it clear for everyone!

  • Great

  • great video. fun

  • Do you have to have experience or can a beginner use this program?

  • @LadiiBlu33 - actually the ideal plan is for a beginner to study ear training along with their other musical practice. It's a skill that doesn't usually get included in a keyboard player's life until they hit college or advanced studies. Train your ears to hear accurately while you're training your brain to understand music while your'e training your hands to play it = a great musician. :)

  • i am a complete piano newbie. figured this would be a good place to start. what are your thougts. ps know how to read music.

  • This is very helpful

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! Also for making a free version!

  • I have been looking at this program for about week and have fell in love with it! So much so that I ordered it today. I have played piano for 16 years but have always had to have music. As a piano player for my church this will be invaluable for me, especially the ear training, something I have always wanted to learn. Also looking forward to the other lessons - learning to play off of chords and being able to do fill ins! Thank you so much for such an affordable program - Awesome! Thank you!

  • @kateklacey - I'm so glad this has been such a help to you!

  • What a Big Help

  • you guys are doing a great job by providing this program it has helped me a lot to becoming a better musician

  • I plan on buying this system very shortly!! I love this..this is the BEST I've seen so far, as far as piano lessons..you play how I want too hahaha Preciate this and God bless you.

  • @hollaatme26 - Thanks for your comments. I'm really glad this is helpful to you. My sis Mary and I used to play a version of this - sitting at the old upright piano back in the day. I'd close my eyes, she'd pick out a note, and I'd have to find it by remembering the last note. Kind of crazy, but it really worked well for ear training and eventually it was the inspiration for putting this program together. All the best - David Sprunger

  • Awesome!

I totally need to learn this for my piano exams.

PS. Your voice sounds really cool ;)

  • Thank you so much!

  • wow yea this is great, thankyou

  • I'm just starting to learn and I think the software will be a great resource for me.

  • very very good idea. excellent learning tol.

  • here comes the bride... *laughing while saying:* big fat and wide! lol but im downloading this and im gonna be better tahn my friend who doesnt want me to play keyboard!

  • Nice simple way of explaining intervals.

Simple songs also is a good way..........Somewhere Over the Rainbow = Octave.

    Maria = b5.

I managed to learn/retain perfect pitch, with intervals, and familiar sounds...refridgerators (G), phone rings, and message alerts....etc..

  • Wish you had this for alto sax

  • is this free?

  • I've seen this presentation before, but back then I wasn't ready for it. Now I really want to be able to identify intervals so I can pick out melodies correctly. I'm going to try your free version first. But I think this is definitely the right way to go.

    Thanks!

  • I am a beginner to intermediate piano player that wants to get better. I really do want to develop my ear. I will try the free version first and then I will get the full version.

  • Great video!! Did you make one demonstrating the chords ear training? Do I need to know the theory behind chords before trying the demo online?

    Thanks

  • anyone tried this? I really like it too... So easy, clean, and Simple!

i tried finding reviews on google, but couldn't find any... any feedbacks?

  • Wow! This is amazing! Did you make this program? If you did... THANK YOU!! :D

  • cool program. I'm playing with the online version right now. My ears are bad.

  • This looks very interesting and worth trying. I've been playing piano all my life - but cannot just blend with any music in live session. I look forward to learning more of this.

    thanks in advanced

  • its quite useful .. thx =)

  • Thanks alot for this video. I have recently been teaching myself alot of piano the past 6 months by ear, but i play with my own style where i take chords, and play alot of really crazy note patterns between them. I use my current rhythym from playing the drums, and my basic music theory from guitar and apply it to my playing and somehow im able to make people think ive been playing for years lol. but yes, as i post this, the ear training file is downloading.

    thanks alot good sir.

  • is it givin pop-ups or somethings like that?

  • where can i get this program?

  • @hihahnara Ya i was wondering 2! Can u learn 2 play from youtube? Cuz thts what im trying 2 do

  • Does the program work for MAC?

  • @wilfred0203123 Yes, we have both MAC and PC versions. By the way, the program has had a major update. Best wishes - David Sprunger

  • real nice :)

  • this is exactly what I was looking for! learning to play an instrument and developing my ear at the same time will help my playing AND singing! And the program is more affordable than I thought. As soon as I have it in the budget I'm going to download this program!

  • This is exactly what i've been looking for. Thank you!

  • this is AWESOME!

  • YesYesYes,a super tool for any one who is keen to learn the basics.

I just hope I can get my G/children half interested in it.

I've been playing for years and this easy LISTENING theory stuff is the right way to start.

I wish I'd had the insight 20yrs ago!

  • I really like How the program is explained here! :D As you've mentioned, Its pretty irritating not being able to sound out songs as well as i'd like.... =/ So, I'm definitely at least gonna try out the free version. I'll Probably get the Full version as soon as i get paid. xD

  • hi,

I am a musician, playing about 30 years and wanted to get to be a great sight singer.

I sent for a fixed do system, that basically gave me the names of the solfege syllables in all the keys and modes.

this might be a good system for me to couple with that book.

    Keep up the good work.

  • iam a pianist but i have troubles at hearing pitches.. i havenot download the program yet........does it cost anything to download it???

  • @latinogomez - there is a free version at PlayPianoTODAY(dot)com/et Best wishes! David Sprunger

  • Great video. Exactly what I could use. :)

  • I have a question about the program. Upon purchasing and downloading, does it instantly install on it's own? One of my friends said some programs do (I think to prevent piracy). I'm asking because I have 2 separate CPU's, one for online and one in my room (not online) that is specifically for my music stuff. Would I be able to DL onto my online CPU, then put it on a thumb drive and install on my room CPU? Or would it auto-install?

  • @mannyac82 - The program does need to install to run. However, it goes through two screens that ask your permission to do so. The first screen is an informational screen, and the second screen asks where you would like the progam to install. Best wishes!

  • What an inventive program! Thanks for posting it - I'll check it out on your website.

  • good video. I am dwnlding also from the site

  • This is great!!

  • Im actually a guitarist, but thats why this will help me even more =D

    Thanks for the upload!

  • Im actually a guitarist, but thats why this will help me even more =D

    Thanks for the upload!

  • yo, this looks really good!! I'ma try this out later, from classic music training I got bored and annoyed that I could only play after hours of practice of a piece, and then someone would say, oh can you solo in this concert and naturally I would freak out..............lets see if your program really works, is it free????/ Ima find out anyway, but you should say that in the vid if it is. If not, then well,.....thats your fault

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE the way you teach.

  • This is a great program :) I'm going to use it every day, thanks!

  • Sounds cool.... I'mma try it

  • thank you for this i have not yet, download the programme, but looking at it from what u have show me really think i would benefit me. thanks again and may GOD Bless You!!!

  • I'm not sure if this is a daft n00b idea, but would it not help (for the white keys at least) to denote the correspnding letter, instead of "1" and "2" respectively? I understand why this would be difficult for the black keys, but mixing numbers and letters tends to confuse me a bit (no good at algebra, despite being a decent mathematician), and I think it would help me reinforce memorization of the A-G layout. Just a thought.

  • Hi random.. that may be a good idea - I'm in the process of doing an update, I'll roll that around in my brain and see. Thanks for taking the time to write. Hope you have a great time learning the keys! Best - David Sprunger

  • @piano9899 can I please just ask,

are your audio testimonials actually BS made up by two people???!!!!!!! they sound like voice acting LMAO!!!! hilarious although I do think the program is a good idea, sry jst had to tell someone lolz

  • @AnomalousAnemone - You have a hilarious screen name - I like it. Nope - our testimonials are from students. We actually have quite a few audio testimonials on our main homepage. Best wishes!

  • @randomgasattack sorry I put a thumbs down. I accidentally clicked the mouse and it happened to be there.

  • @randomgasattack sorry I put a thumbs down. I accidentally clicked the mouse and it happened to be there.

  • I have an Ear Training final on tues ...im sure this is going to help a lot. ^_^

  • excellent GOING TO USE IT 3 HOURS EVERY DAY.

  • Many many thanks for these free lessons

    Myrtle

  • Why couldn't I have found this product when I had a job and the money to pay for it. Sounds great. Reminds me of the music students doing solfege.

  • What a blessing this is. Thanks so much for your hard work & your sharing!

  • This looks like some amazing software. It would be awesome to train my ears as a sophmore in high school, then going into AP music theory with a trained ear senior year. 5/5 stars.

  • Ear training... You know I think that I would have soo much more fun with my music, if I had ear training as a child

  • This is a very good sofware

    Thanks for post the video

  • I Really Look Forward To Checkin This Out.

  • Wow you have good hearing

  • At first I thought it was the hand thing from the addams family, but then I realised he's wearing a black shirt

  • @RahNiggette - LOL

  • great video :)

  • this was an advertisement, not a lesson, which is fine but try not to make it out to be a lesson, thanks

  • This looks cool! But sometimes slow down and talk less. ADHD people get confused as heck when they hear blah blah blah - music and language are processed by the same channels - dont clog em up.

  • Cool guy and you are real good....keep on going!

  • awesome

  • Very cool! Easy to follow.

  • thx you so much for this programm

  • I found this lessons to be very informative. Thank you, Lisa J.

  • I was blown away in awe by this video. I had no idea how far computer programs had come in music. I will be purchacing the program.

  • @afkapnot its free on his site. i just had to subscribe to his site-i was stoked lol im actually downloading it right now...

  • This video was great. My playing was a bit mundane for a couple of months until I saw your video. Thank you for giving me something to work on and to edify my skills

  • ha got all the notes right =P

  • You stirred up my interest how you present your lesson simply motivating, fun, & interesting.

    joblas50

  • Hi. I am a music teacher my self. I have attended a music lesson in Russia which were a HARD work from beginning. This is so much fun, i love it!

  • That's amazing! Really helps A LOT!

  • I've been losing interest in playing the piano lately but your lessons just helped put the spark back into motivating me again. Thanks for making it fun again!!

  • Loved it! Hoping some more videos from you guys! Its indeed a big help though! Thanks~

  • The training is excellent but it is a little difficul to follow all that. I'll keep trying..

  • cool

  • Hey great video, thanks!

  • does this also help u play the guitar and sing better since it not specifically designed to learn piano but to train ur ear

  • pretty cool i compete with my brother haha and win

  • tnx for posting this,,,,,,,,,really helpful,,,,

  • I'm sick of playing with sheet music

  • Thanks David, I actually went to the site after I posted the comment and went through all of your demo's. I can't wait to purchase the program I'm extremely excited especially about the Rythmic Patterns.

  • I like this program. I have an apple I'm not sure if it's compatible with my software because I'd like to continue my ear training lessons. :-)

  • Hi CDafeu - there are both Windows and Mac versions of this program available for download on the site. Best wishes - David Sprunger

  • Is this available on the iphone. If not, it should be

  • genius game! or yeah..

  • Hay, great job....I am so excited to get started today

  • This is probably the best program I've seen so far for playing music by ear. I really need to learn how because I was taught with sheet music so it's a bit difficult for me to be able to tell where notes are supposed to be. The tutorial looks fairly simple and easy to learn.

    Thank you!

  • Now, i don't really know what to do.. i've been using the program for about 2 weeks and i'm not really sure if i should stay to level 1 or continue.. I feel pretty sure about level 1 now, even tho it HAPPENS i accidently press the wrong key, but not too often. So, should i stay until im completely safe or maybe begin playing level 2?

  • That's a great question - I admire the fact that you want to go through level 1 at 100%, but I'd dive into the next couple levels and start pushing yourself a bit. Since you're practicing so intensely, I'd love to hear how you're doing in the future. Best wishes - David Sprunger

  • @piano9899 All right, i'l do that! thanks, it's not too often i don't get 10/10, but i was just not really sure, thanks again :)

  • great tip helpful indeed

  • thanks this was very helpful

  • Hi I used this pogram and I have written and play my own song on utube look for Soopardoopar

    Regards Tel

  • This is very useful training!

  • I just began using this program, and i like it ;D i think it would work GREAT if you made it for Iphone or PSP or anything portable, much easier to take with you, and you can practice anywhere :D

  • are u a beginner

  • great video

  • Great tutorial! Thanks for posting!!!

  • Very nice!

  • Thanks, very nice work! "My Bonnie lies over the ocean" - was that a reference to a hello/goodbye song, or something else?

    Thanks again.

  • you should make a tutorial of that little piano jig at the beginning :)

  • The computer numbers stuff confuses me. I have desexia, but a good music ear. What now?

  • I'll Rate And Comment..lol.. Thanks A Lot.. Very Helpful.. It Helps The Open Minded People.. And Some Robots Too..lol

  • Thanks it helps alot to know there is software like this keep it up!!! with free stuff

  • Great software to really nature melody mapping in your brain so that these sounds become you part of your daily life. And once this happens, excellency shall increase.

  • I downloaded the free version! Hope it helps me a little.

  • how long is the free version?

  • The free version is not time-limited. It will take you through the first grouping of ear training levels to get started. The full version goes through quite a few more in-depth levels (much bigger intervals + harmonic training). Best - DSprunger

  • This is a helpful program teaching a skill that is difficult to master. Sight reading is another skill that I feel noone has managed to write a fully satisfactory lesson program for. Maybe try a sight-reading lesson/program as you seem to have done such a good job with ear traing.

  • that's an interesting idea. I just need another clone to get it done! ha Thanks - DSprunger

  • the concept is great.. modern and useful

  • what should i associate a descending major sixth with please??

  • e.g "where do I begin" - theme from the movie "love story" -

  • cheers, i can't wait to be able to tell chords by ear.

  • this is awesome. thanx!!

  • thanx this is really helpful

  • Wonderful concept x

  • i have a question, like when you say like major 2nd or major 3rd how do you know which side to move? like you move right or you move left? how do you know?

  • i have a question, like when you say like major 2nd or major 3rd how do you know which side to move? like you move right or you move left? how do you know?

  • Hi Caloshehe - sorry it took me so long to see your comment. You can either move up or down when referring to intervals. There's two ways to look at it - you can analyze the Maj. 2nd (or whatever) as it relates to the key you are in, or simply remember the distances. For instance, a Maj. 2nd (either direction) is 2 half steps away. A minor 3rd is is 3 half steps away... etc.

  • Simply lovely. Will be downloading this program ASAP!

  • Great video I think it will really help me a lot

  • I haven't played piano for very long but i am really bad at this i can already tell lol. Plz post more!

  • Wow I have trouble to level 3 xDD

  • Thanks for the introductory video. It is a slick piece of software. Is it MIDI compatible?

  • "Instinctivly nail it" great line

  • This is just AMAZING !!!

    Wow ~~!!
