why not read Isaiah 53 in context? if you read Isaiah 40-53, you'll read more or less one continuous song, in which a "servant" is referred to 18 times. in 7 of those places, it says EXPLICITLY that the servant is "Israel" or "Jacob".
the whole passage is about God's relationship with Israel, his judgment on them, his promise to bring them out of captivity in Babylon, and his goal of blessing all nations through Israel.
read in that context, Isaiah 53 makes plenty of sense.
No reasonable person could deny that Jesus was who He said He was.Unless man submits to Jesus he will die spiritually insane, the same way that we all start out.Bro. did you ever do voice overs on T.V.?You have a wonderful voice,God Bless

"Unfortunately skeptics too. The more you reject it the harder your heart becomes and eventually you cross a line where God just gives you over."
No, the Pharao had his heart hardened BY God. You say the same applies to the jews: they have been cursed with spiritual blindness. What skeptics have is just lack of evidence. Provide me with evidence of gods and I will believe. I'm bound by my intellectual honesty, because I want to believe as many true things, and as few false things as possible.
But you really don't have any. You just proved you dishonesty by admitting you didn't even watch the video before criticizing it. That's what having a hardened heart and being spiritually blind means - in a sense you are a living proof .
"But you really don't have any. You just proved you dishonesty by admitting you didn't even watch the video before criticizing it"
I never critisized the video, nor did I pretend to have watched it. When asked I immediately admitted that I haven't. So where is the dishonesty? Are you just avoiding answering my question? You know what old Peter says about being ready to defend one's beliefs.
"For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened."
"For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened."
You found the time to churn out a good old foolish heart passage just to annoy me, but you couldn't do it to demonstrate your most amazing prediction. Tell me which one, or I'll annoy you right back with inconsistencies and immorality from the bible.... Well I might do it anyway.
"tell me which one, or I'll annoy you right back with inconsistencies and immorality from the bible.... Well I might do it anyway. "
LOL - you've already demonstrated your willingness to openly lie - so really whats the point. You can't be taken seriously. Grow up.
The point that went right over your head is the answer to your "question" is the subject video you didn't watch!!!! Hello???? If you really wanted the answer - Gee - maybe watch it !!!!
Blatant Dishonesty: Posting a ridiculing criticism.

Read the previous paragraph you quote miner. I wrote that the jews disagree. As for the LOTR parapraph, I'm sorry if I came off as if I had watched the video by putting "this". That was not my intent. But all the stuff from Jesus' life (yes, even the stuff the predictions where compared to) was written AFTER his death, so again I am completely in the right. No honesty. But you continue to be desperate to lable me.
It's strange that the Jews disagree with the OT predicting Jesus as the Messiah. I guess they just don't know the OT, eh?
This is about as amazing as Gandalf predicting Gollum's important part at the end of Lord of the Rings. Especially since the first record of Jesus was written decades after his death.

Yeah, sorry. I was merely sent this video, and I've watched my share of apologetics videos. If you read back, all my comments still apply, though. And I asked what prediction you thought was most convincing. I wouldn't know what that is, even if I did watch the video.
You just admitted your intellectual dishonesty - you post critical comments on something you never even watched or listened to. Now that's willful blatant ignorance.

I did not post any critical about the contents of the video. Read back.

I said the jews disagree with christian apologetics. That is completely true and it does not matter that I didn't see the video. I do however admit that it's not what the comment section is for. I should perhaps have seen the video before posting a comment under it. My intellectual honesty remains intact, though. And will you just answer my question already?
"For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. "
Wow you are just ignoring the obvious. All of the original Christians were Jews! They recognized him from the passage used in this video.
Isaiah 53 was considered messianic in Judaism until after Jesus they changed it - out of guilt
They rejected him accusing him of being demon possessed - the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit in context. He responded by pronouncing that spiritual blindness would fall upon them -until the fullness of the gentiles comes in.
'We are redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lab without blemish and without spot: who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last itmes for you' ~ 1 Pet 1:18,19. Praise the Lord for the divine exchange and His grace!
Devotion to the LORD unto eternal life is pleasing to God. It's not selfish to live for God in the hope of eternal life, especially since living for God requires being unselfish. Besides, we primarily worship Him and seek Him because He is worthy out of love for Him, not merely for benefit or reward.
C, this was SOOOOO worth waiting for! Wow, when you said you were working on a project, I wasnt expecting THIS! Now I feel guilty about pouting because we kept missing each other in yahoo. Love you bro and God bless you always ... again.. wow BRAVO
Hey brother bigwhammyrocks, I'm subscribed to your exciting videos. These have helped reignite a passion for prophecy, and the Spirit helped me to see Jesus' fulfillment of OT prophecies in more clarity, which has edified my understanding. God Bless.
That really means a lot to me. Encouraging believers is a big part of my mission. Even if I'm not getting rich in the world, comments like these are treasure.
Actually, hold off, I am thinking of opening an account there. I am hoping I wont have to split it into 3 parts so I need to render a full length version. But thanks!
so you just convince people to lay aside their skepticism? that's it?

"It's not selfish to live for God in the hope of eternal life" sounds like worship for personal gain to me.

No.
It's not, it primarily is out of devotion and love for God anyway. You should actually read the post before you respond.
