Just wanted to mention, since it has not been commented on before in the posts, that sex, lies and videotape got Best Picture at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival and James Spader received the Best Actor award. The Cannes Film Festival, I believe, is like the European Oscars. A very high honor for both the movie and Mr. Spader.

Well...it's pretty hard to explain it. It's the title. SEX -- for the sex between characters going on, not going on, talked about, described; LIES -- for the lies being told, being kept, the lies we tell ourselves and others, John and Cynthia lying to Ann, Ann lying to her shrink, herself, to Graham, until he convinces her to tell him what she thinks, how she feels and he her; VIDEOTAPE -- the tapes Graham uses to get women to talk and do sexual things for him.

After seeing your songvid, I went out and rented this film because I enjoyed your vid so much. LOVED the film as well. Wow. I haven't been speechless at the end of a film in a long time. My only qualm? Peter Gallagher's overacting. I felt some of the very intense "anger" scenes were a tad over the top and momentarily took me out of the film. Everything else was gorgeous...as is your video. :)
