  • OFFSHORE WELDERS EARN LARGE LARGE SALARIES, IF YOU WISH TO GO OFFSHORE AND WELD, CONTACT ME AT : weldingsteel@yahoo.com

  • I'm in a outage right now at a garbage burner and headed to a turn around at a refinery right after. I'm not a boilermaker, I'm an insulator and work around and with boilermakers, fitters, ironworkers, millwrights day after day. Not the best of working conditions but the comradery of fellow workers makes the job worth it. Great song!

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY TIP

The purple cartridges [HEPA] used by these workers are designed for DUST ONLY, not for fumes or gases generated when welding. I hope someone gets them the right cartridges. Usually the best kind are a combination: black-purple, grey-purple...etc.

  • Yeah, catch 22 in Boilers. If it isnt the refactory dust,or Asbestos, the welding fumes are usually the least of your worries :)

  • the filters are actually pink, and when working in a confined space you're supposed to have an air monitor and if it goes off then you get an air mover. that usually clears things up. last resort is a self-contained breathing apparatus.

  • gotta love the TAR's

  • What! No Electricians and Instrument Techs.!?!?

  • Not for this sort of work, repair & maintenance. The example was Boiler tube work. Not new construction, thus any Electrical work consisted of perhaps installing new Type K Termocouples and wiring them to PLCs, and for Instrumentation, it was primarily blanking off instruments whilst work was performed, then reconnecting gauges and such.

Just maintenance work, with little involvement in other Trades. That's how it is.
