@BloodofPatriots Fedor competes in sambo, I've never seen him on judo tournament in last 10 years. He has some judo background, but he is definitely more sambo than judo fighter. BJJ has Jacare, Minotauro, Minotoro, Aoki, Penn, Shields, Werdum, Maia, Roger Gracie, Almeida, Lutter, Cruz. Some of them are pure, some more "mixed", but they EXIST and everyone can watch their fights. And judo? Parisyan? Akiyama? Sokoudjou, who is striker? Maybe some japanese, who also train intensively BJJ like Aoki.

Or it could be some informations about highest level grapplers interested in training kosen judo. Or MMA fights... anything from this century. Because from what I know, even japanese MMA fighters train BJJ. Good teachers and academies can't be unknown for a long time, so propably they don't rate kosen schools too high.

Kano's judo proved it's superiority over japanese jiu-jitsu in police tournament, I would like to see "traditional judo" or "kosen judo" in confrontation with other styles. I see Gracies and their students applying this "techniques with ugly spic names". So does sambo and wrestling. And where are judokas? If there is non-olympic judo I wan't to see it confronting anywhere else than on judo tournaments.

@BloodofPatriots Don't care too much about inventing techniques, all the more you're not right. Care about using them in the fight. Judokas have very limited skills on the ground and also in the stand-up, mainly due to stupid regulations (guy chokes you out unconscious right after being thrown? fuck it, you won the fight!). Judo is a sport which evolves to be more and more hermetic, exactly opposite to BJJ. And don't stick to myths like kosen judo. Don't you have anything else to hold on?

@BloodofPatriots Helio and his family were trained by a Japanese Jujutsu guy, not a Judoka. Hence, it was based more of of Jujutsu, not Judo. The Brazilian Style too would be called Brazilian Judo if it were not like that.

@19thaman79 nah his father gastao was wealthy man in brazil in return for gastao services maeta a japanese jujitsu legend taught carlos gracie. carlos gracie taught his brother but they wouldn't let helio train because he was to small and frail, helio created the art of bjj which is partially based off of japanese jujitsu but much more effective because no matter your strength you could do it based on leverage. you can read about it anywhere.

@seigemma4 Its Maeda not Maeta. Maeda taught Carlos Gracie Kano Jiu Jitsu which was a derivitive of various styles of Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Newaza was the style of Japanese Jiu Jitsu which was the ground aspect of fighting though not as indepth as BJJ. Kano Jiu Jitsu is what we know today as Judo which is gave birth to BJJ. BJJ was not derived from Japanese Jiu Jitsu but (Judo) Kano JiuJitsu named after Kano Jigoro the originator of Judo and teacher of Maeda.
