  • I'm always buying porsche and I'm always buying manual

  • I would like to fit this gearbox to a 993 911.

  • This car is very very nice but not even close to the 458Italia.

  • @luigibattista10 This is a very standard 911, a GT3 RS would give the Italia a run for it's money, plus it's way more interactive and direct, and less of a posers car. Yes, sadly, Ferraris are bought mainly by rich faggot posers. THey are killing the brand.

  • @vithaj92 You took the wrong pill my brother. Say no to drugs and try again. Cheers.

  • @luigibattista10 That is a non-argument, what are you rly trying to say? That my opinion is "inferior" to yours?

  • Finally they raise the car's ass up a bit! Looks very nice!

  • look at 0:41 its automatic not manual !

  • i asked my dad for one of these.. he laughed. :(

  • wow . 7 speed! i could probably do 800 to 900 km per tank on the highway. cruise control at 115-120km per hr. maybe even better depends on the rpms. im sure theyre very low in 7th gear at those speeds

  • i want one.

  • with a new line in the gears, it's even easier to go for an 8 speed manual

  • 7 speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed

  • fuck pdk, it's all abou the manual

  • fuck santa, dear GOD!

  • hklkdudj ilolsrw;p owils,djdi ;lsjisls,s

  • Wow, so they pretty much introduced their new 7 Speed Manual (which is awesome by the way) and then totally bashed it by touting their PDK system.

The PDK transmission no doubt shifts quicker, and it is the logical choice for race drivers trying to shave valuable milliseconds off their lap time.

BUT, you don’t buy a Porsche to be the fastest on the road — You buy a Porsche for the experience of driving, and thereby *controlling* the vehicle. Any true car enthusiast knows this. Manual FTW.

  • Good God - I'm enjoying the new taillight design.

  • but if the 5th gear is:richt than up. and 6th is richt than down. to to switch to 7th? if you they do richt richt than up. it whould confuse with the 5th gear

  • the back looks like Aston Martin :D

  • Automatic is for lazy people who can't understand anything else.

  • @Suprapwns forcing your opinion on others is ignorant.

  • @Suprapwns and because someone has had a hip replacement and can't use his or her left leg they are lazy? go back and rethink what you say buddy,

  • @MagicAyrtonforever because theres so many people that buy auto sports cars for that reason

  • Porsche is awesome for offering the manual option.

  • I love the new Carrera 2S. I just hope the manual box's ratios haven't gotten shorter with the extra gear though it would be nice to just toss it into 7th for just cruising.

  • Anyone know how much it's going to be?

  • Nice car

  • i want it so bad...

  • Sounds great

  • I love how the new 911 looks, but cannot stand how Porsche badges their cars now. P O R S C H E in huge lettering on the back. How did that get approved at design? That alone would prevent me from buying one. Hopefully the GT3 isn't badged the same way. A simple GT3 will do.

  • @sford01 you can delete it easily

  • @Supcharged Yeah, I know. I would rather not have to do things myself though after just paying $80,000+ for the car. I feel it takes away from the looks from the rear pov. Unnecessary overkill basically. I wonder if it's a factory delete option? I hope.

  • Beautiful....best looking 911 ever, and probably the best looking sports car available on the market today. The way 911 combines sporty, luxurious and futuristic look is amazing.... No matter where you are, in which ever situation, 911 just seems to fit perfectly. Whether you're parking in front of a casino in Monaco, driving on Nurburgring or cruising on autobahn at high speed, 911 seems perfect.

  • so the seventh gear is an over drive

  • @DERRECK153 Its not an overdrive, its a usable gear, the gear ratios are just differently spaced between each other, so the engine can give more performance.

  • 7 speed manual for the w. pdk sucks

  • porsche is cheaper to maintain than gtr.

  • I swaer ill be the first one in my whole family lineage to own a porsche.

  • Im fron dubai, I will be buying a new car after 3-4 months and I think I will go for the 2012 GTR. I really really want the porsche but I am just scared about the reliability and service charges. I want a reliable car (most important) looks nice and powerful.

The GTR here is same price as the basic carrera.

Can anyone who has experience with these cars please advice.

  • @bigbad1000do7a who gives a shit, if you have the money to buy...lol gtfo

  • @bigbad1000do7a

I do not own or have first hand experience with neither of them, but from what I have read and seen, they are both reliable. Service charges are more likely to be higher for the Porsche because its a more luxurious brand. However, turbocharged cars are usually less reliable than naturally aspirated engines, so the GTR "might" need more service intervals. But for the amount you pay you'll get more performance with GTR. Make a decision and call me for a drive. i live in shj. lol

  • @bigbad1000do7a Porsche has more reliability than Nissan. if you have some more money, why don't you take 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S instead of 2012 GT-R.

  • @blacksukhoi twice the price

  • @lejink that's why i said if he has more money. but if his budget is within consideration of 2012 GT-R and Carrera S, then the GT-R has more value.

  • Perfection. Perfected.

  • Wheels look massive. I hate huge wheels on cars like these. Especially the 20's on the new M5.

  • @AlumarsX You need big wheels to clear big brakes. I think they only are 19 front 20 rears.

  • @phantomloita I know, but if they focused so much on making it lighter, smaller wheels would've helped more than any carbon fiber trim.

  • Gimme the GT3! NOW!

  • lol about 2k rpm at 70mph in 7th gear. Thanks Porsche.

  • @clockhanded

    woot?!

  • Manual 4 Ever !

  • where is that road?

  • And still change and change and change and change....

  • holy shit 7 speed manual gears

    thats like fucking inception man

    WE NEED TO GO DEEPER

  • if you go with the pdk, you should be ashamed of yourself

  • LOL at the people here rejoicing about it having a manual..... When we all know that 99% of the commenters here cant afford a brand new 2012 911

  • @umadbrow lol at anyone wathcing anything they can't afford... dipshit

  • @vithaj92

Its ok to watch, its not ok to rejoice that its going to have a manual when you wont ever afford one anyway. Or do you like rejoicing for the rich? POORFAGGOT

  • @umadbrow I guess you're not allowed to dream as well then? And you can't like the fact that an iconic sports car is keeping with pure driving experience and tradition? But you're probably right, never be delighted about anything you'll never be a part of, that sounds fair. I don't know if that is possible though, maybe a total rework of the human brain can fix that. And oh by the way, you don't have to insult me because I disagree with you :)

  • Good news for the real petrolhead!

  • LONG LIVE THE MANUAL!!!!! I don't care that the PDK shifts faster, is more fuel efficient (marginally) and is more efficient. You don't get that connection to the car with flappy paddle gearboxes. Three pedals and 5-7 gears in my hand, the way god intended

  • im so happy that this exists. manual trans is here to stay

  • @swingAE86 AWWWW YEAAAAAH!!! It is really a dying art. I will be sad the day they stop making manual transmissions

  • I like that you can option silver trim around the windows. It's like the original. Nice contrast.

  • @MetikalMan I do to, I usually prefer the black finish but the silvery bit has really been incorporated nicely

  • I wonder if the 7th gear is last year's 6th gear, and the ratios are just closer, or if it's a real steep gear that follows 6th, which is what it sounds like.

  • @mikeb1444 7th is the overdrive gear. 6th is free for use

  • @swingAE86

YAY! Now I need $200K. .. I do wonder though how much of an overdrive gear it is. We'll soon find out.

  • 7 speed manual > PDK

  • @EJ25RUN 6 speed manual > PDK

  • @EJ25RUN Have you actually driven one yet?? (rolls eyes)

  • @MagicAyrtonforever i have driven a manual and will vouch for the rest of my life that as a pure driving experience, a foot operated clutch is the only experience necessary.

Yes, i have driven cars without one, but i chose to come back.

  • @EJ25RUN But that is just YOUR opinion even though others will also agree with you.. Personally I like both, but I do think a 7 speed manual is a bit better, depends on your age and personality I guess and the usage.. I certainly won't be deciding until I drive both back to back.

  • @MagicAyrtonforever - Yes, it is my opinion. What is also my opinion is people are forgetting that the fastest car possible would simply take all the controls away from the driver. To go further, im in school to be a pilot and im currently learning all the systems to a 747. No i am not rated in it but i still have to show knowledge of the aircraft for my class. It is one of airline transports systems. Makes me wish i could fly the super simple Piper J3 Cub instead.

  • @EJ25RUN wow, yes I love flying too (Flight simulator X) But never tried a real plane.. I know what you mean about manual gearboxes, but in todays traffic (and this will only get worse) an Auto is just as viable, PDK is very quick and I think that the ratios are closer too making it feel quicker too thus more fun, it is just my opinion but Manuals almost feel a little clunky nowadays, also because of the heavier duty cogs found in a high torque output engine, it feels like hard work.

  • @MagicAyrtonforever The hard work is what is fun about it.

  • @vithaj92 not when you work hard during the week and you have many many miles to drive in traffic it isn't!! what do you drive then?

  • @MagicAyrtonforever A manual gearbox is for the driving enthusiast. Not for everyday usability..

  • @EJ25RUN PDK is faster and easier to drive, especially for women.

  • @Supcharged why would i ever care about that? If i wanted faster, i'd build a race car. I want a street car. One that has to go around in places where speed cameras exist. So, "being faster" is a useless argument for a street car.

I'd take a 1990 Miata over any of these new generations of double clutch cars because the pure driving experience is found in simple cars that dont need to be as fast as possible because they are not being driven in competition. Same goes for the airplanes i fly.

  • @EJ25RUN Porsche rocks for advancing the manual transmission.

    May real driving live on.

  • This is the best looking 911 yet! (Wow, never thought i'd say that)

  • 0:55 911 km on the odometer in a 911...coincidence?

  • @Mr1wd They always put easter eggs in their pictures and videos, look up "porsche sport chrono" on google images ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @Mr1wd the word "coincidence" is unknown to Porsche.

  • @Mr1wd 911km and 119 km/h

  • @Mr1wd number plate is also 911

  • @Mr1wd It's CG, so I'd imagine it's simple to do it on purpose.

  • if you love cars, you love Porsche ...

    fantastic vid, especially 1:05
