i've got a nice fps depending on locations about 30-55 on maxed out Crysis2 with HD testures and DX11 patch.

Probably korean communication's to send messages all over the world :P..
And to think i got a XFX 6850 for €80,s when i traded the stock card 6450 in :D
@angleisthebest It's a degraded version. GTX 460 1GB 256bit is the way to go. Gigabyte SOC version is on par with 6870 and GTX 470. But it's hard to find one now I guess. Best bang for buck I could get at the time I was building my gaming PC :)
@Tobiash87 I'm fully aware of that, but it's not the issue. The issue lies with 1) power saving state on any Fermi card, 2) terrible default driver profiles for games and 3) GPU usage drops. And there's still plenty of 460s still for sale, now re-branded as 560s (non-ti). These cards were good when they worked a year ago with 258 drivers, since then they've completely sucked & since almost none of the review sites show minimum framerates, it is only good on paper with skewed averages.
@angleisthebest I am very satisfied with my SOC 460 GTX. Seen so many benchmarks (with minimum fps as well - guru3d.com for good example) since both cards hit the market and I think that GTX 460 is still a overall better card with more efficient shader processors (outperforms 6850 clock vs clock) and generally has higher overclock capabilities. HD 6850 on the other side is awesome for lower power usage and good price. It's a very good card very well worth getting for a gaming PC.
@Tobiash87 yea know the best bang for the buck in my opinion would be a gttx 570l. I have 2 and managed 2 overclocked enough on liquid to beat dual 580's be a decent margin.
@GAMeEnTHuSiaST1 Depends on what you call bang for buck, because it really depends what can you buy for your money's worth. GTX 570 is cheap if you make money in dollars or euros. If you live in a rich country you can afford dual GTX 570's easly, but when the money you make is worth shit compared to dollars or euro, you are stuck with budget side of things :P
@tortoisemark 460SE is like a superclocked version and performs better but a gtx 460 can already run alot so whatever you prefer its like 7-15 fps difference
Nvidia has lost to ATI in the high end cards category by a considerable margin, specially in terms of power consumption and performance. The last card Nvidia release that had the best price/performance ration was the 8800gt.
@rjt197197 i am NVIDIA fan boy haha. Just check the benchmarks and prices of both companies. ATI beats Nvidia in almost every category these days. I wish NVIDIA could do something about it.

@SpyderDevelopment the 6850 is a bit better in most aspecs but the 460 is better in some things too, plus you can get a 460 1gb for like $30 less then 6850 now, by the way im not a nvidia fanboy, i actually perfer AMD/ati.
Hey Tom, I have a 460 GTX SC(768mb version) and i'm looking to go SLI for christmas. I'm not sure because of the 24a thing. Would my Enermax 620W(36a total,2x12v rails at 22a each) be enough to run 2x 460 gtx SC or not?
@NeofirenX For some stupid reason, in this video he's using the 768mb version which performs and COSTS far, far less than a 6850.
GTX460 1gb (which is the standard version) performs nearly as well as 6850...add in their greater overclocking potential and you can get equal performance (GTX460's overclock like a beast, 6850's...not so much).

@Lubotsulat how much mem did the 460 have? The 6850 is a great card if you want to fit it and forget it. The 460 would be better if you dont mind it being louder, hotter, more power hungry and have to overclock it to get the best from it
@Lubotsulat no dude just don't if you goin to buy 230 hd 6850 still dont go with gtx 460 you are wasting money just go with hd 6870 for 20 more dollars and you can overlclock well on it on just go with msi if you want to
wow, benchmarks of single card and dual cards and plus at stock and overclocked. Man that is lot of work. I am amazed. Surely, your job isnt one of the easiest one. Thanks for making such a reviews that make our life much easier to buy the product with best value per euro or pound or dollar ;)
Any recommendation on which physx card should I buy for 480GTX? I would love to hear from you.
is the 6850 graphics card better in folding than the gtx 460 1gb version? I can not find any conparison on this, can somebody give me an answer on this? Thank you.
@tescofood the 6850's are now £150, same price as a 460 1GB (for the time being) The prices for the 6850 and 6870's went up a day or two after release.
lol'ed at monster getting run over. Just finished looking at the reviews, you guys do a great job. However i'm kind of wondering, now that Nvidia has dropped the prices on the GTX 460 1GB and the GTX 470 to $200 and $260, respectively, wouldn't it be more fair to compare GTX 460 1GB vs. HD6850 and GTX 470 vs. HD6870?
Why does no one understand that there are more games to test than just Crysis? yeah sure its most likely the hardest game to run but that game doesn't prove one card is better than the other.
@soxfanant95 if you click the link for the full review you will see we have tested all 8 cards on 10 games including overclock and SLI/Crossfire runs. I can make a video for each so just used the versions most people will want to see.
@TimeToLiveCustoms Oh I understand what you mean that you can't show all important games and that wasn't to be directed at you, it was to be directed at all the people who think a card is rated on Crysis.
Not to give you guys a hard time as I really appreciate the efforts to bring us such in depth reviews. However, in your most humble opinions did any of the cards display better (color definition, less stutter, smoother game play, etc) than the others? One other thing what about driver stability? Are the new AMD/ATI drivers ready for prime time?
Thanks again for all the hard work. It I was in the neighborhood I would pay for the first pint....
@1timby If you take a look at the main review you will see a wealth of information for you to go through dude. Out of all the cards I think I must surprised and impressed by the 6850 so far, and the drivers seem very good. Plus ATI have always been better and faster with fixes for any problems.
@TimeToLiveCustoms Tom I went through the review like brown fecal material through a goose. Was just looking for your opinions on the cards. I notice in the first U-tube video you commented on the smooth play of a card. Those are the types of things I'm looking at. So many reviews (from the usual places) show the FPS. While that's important so is game play. Does it stutter? Does the card seem to render well? Thanks for the feedback.
@1timby In this test if you dont overclock (lets face it most of the purchacers for these two wont) then I would honestly say that the 6850 is a hands down winner. Its so good Im thinking about using it in my 3D HTPC
@1timby thumbs up, i don't want vanilla presentations where things are left to the imagination of the viewer/reader, far too many other reviews available for that. i prefer a strong stance one way or the other rather then riding the fence. perhaps tiny has been catching grief for offering hard opinions.
i think you should show some more dynamic and crazy scenes in the game... i mean walking on the beach or just roaming around with few enemies... = of course you will get good fps..... you should use the snow / alien place under ground.. or boss fight scene.. fps tends to drop a lot in those scenes in crysis
Ok this is clearly the 6850 and the 6870 beats the GTX 460's
But why u didnt do benchmarks of Crysis then ? u can see better the results, now he did play the game, but not everytime the same and no results after, so with benchmarks u get a better result.
i've got a nice fps depending on locations about 30-55 on maxed out Crysis2 with HD testures and DX11 patch.
i have a Gigabyte HD6850OC (oc edition), self-overclocked core from 820 to 850mHz with Gigabyte's "Easy Boost".. too bad they locked the volt so i can't oc it much further though.

6850* sorry
tescofood 1 year ago
@tescofood the 6850's are now £150, same price as a 460 1GB (for the time being) The prices for the 6850 and 6870's went up a day or two after release.

lol'ed at monster getting run over. Just finished looking at the reviews, you guys do a great job. However i'm kind of wondering, now that Nvidia has dropped the prices on the GTX 460 1GB and the GTX 470 to $200 and $260, respectively, wouldn't it be more fair to compare GTX 460 1GB vs. HD6850 and GTX 470 vs. HD6870?
AgentHydra 1 year ago
Why does no one understand that there are more games to test than just Crysis? yeah sure its most likely the hardest game to run but that game doesn't prove one card is better than the other.
soxfanant95 1 year ago
@soxfanant95 if you click the link for the full review you will see we have tested all 8 cards on 10 games including overclock and SLI/Crossfire runs. I can make a video for each so just used the versions most people will want to see.
TimeToLiveCustoms 1 year ago
@TimeToLiveCustoms Oh I understand what you mean that you can't show all important games and that wasn't to be directed at you, it was to be directed at all the people who think a card is rated on Crysis.
soxfanant95 1 year ago
jesus dude you do put some work in. this kind of testing / comparing is amazing!

1timby 1 year ago
@1timby If you take a look at the main review you will see a wealth of information for you to go through dude. Out of all the cards I think I must surprised and impressed by the 6850 so far, and the drivers seem very good. Plus ATI have always been better and faster with fixes for any problems.
TimeToLiveCustoms 1 year ago
@TimeToLiveCustoms Tom I went through the review like brown fecal material through a goose. Was just looking for your opinions on the cards. I notice in the first U-tube video you commented on the smooth play of a card. Those are the types of things I'm looking at. So many reviews (from the usual places) show the FPS. While that's important so is game play. Does it stutter? Does the card seem to render well? Thanks for the feedback.
1timby 1 year ago
@1timby In this test if you dont overclock (lets face it most of the purchacers for these two wont) then I would honestly say that the 6850 is a hands down winner. Its so good Im thinking about using it in my 3D HTPC
TimeToLiveCustoms 1 year ago
@1timby thumbs up, i don't want vanilla presentations where things are left to the imagination of the viewer/reader, far too many other reviews available for that. i prefer a strong stance one way or the other rather then riding the fence. perhaps tiny has been catching grief for offering hard opinions.

i think you should show some more dynamic and crazy scenes in the game... i mean walking on the beach or just roaming around with few enemies... = of course you will get good fps..... you should use the snow / alien place under ground.. or boss fight scene.. fps tends to drop a lot in those scenes in crysis
Blassreiter815 1 year ago
Ok this is clearly the 6850 and the 6870 beats the GTX 460's
But why u didnt do benchmarks of Crysis then ? u can see better the results, now he did play the game, but not everytime the same and no results after, so with benchmarks u get a better result.
