  • Her turns are like nobody I've ever seen, she almost doesn't even appear to spot. She's a top! Love the Varna video too.

  • she is so freaking awesome!

  • FIERCEEE

  • my god, she is fierce. holy shit.

  • The applause were cut but wow that was just unbelievable!

  • how old is she here ? :o

  • @franamelia0

they cut out the applause for the video because of the volume

  • I think this is amazing. Not all can do this

  • Everyone in the audience is probably in shock because that was so amazing!

  • that. was amazing. loveeeeeeee this. and btw, you can tell there is actually an applause- the noise is blocked out at the end, like it was in the beginning. BRAVO

  • Love this!!

  • Holy shit. The minute she entered the stage, I was sold. She has such incredible control and fluidity. <3

  • They cut the appluase!!! that's why there is none!!

  • her technique is what gets me. it is flawless . yes she can turn her legs get high but more importantly it's turned out its pointed at the ankle its her turns are spot un and cosistant . at one point she rolls off point( 1:01 to 1:02)in fourth position as she swivels from forth through second comes arounds to fourth position on the outher side then heels down tendu front present yourself to the audiance and developpe . LOVE IT . and then its her expresion/acting not to much buit just right muaa!

  • A black swan indeed!!!

  • Ah she's amazing

  • i dance, but i never got what people mean when they say. "nice extensions".

    Can someone answer please?

  • @960ronbon4ever at 1:03 - 1:06 she developpes her leg up, this is an extension, her leg is nice and high

  • very good interpretation and nice technique...love the extension after each turn

  • SHE IS SO GOOD.

  • impressing :)

  • It's wonderful to see a dancer have musicality along with amazing technique. So many dancers are all about pushing more and doing the most 'tricks' but don't LISTEN to the music.

  • That's fake!!!! haha Naah kidding, I just envy her :D AMAZING young ballerina!!!!!!!!!

  • so beautilfull

  • I love how she looks out at 1:25, she looks like an evil black swan! beautifulll

  • U deaf?? They obviously cheered at 2:00. ha.

  • where the hells is the applause?? that was flawless.

  • Very VERY VERY GOOOOOOD!

    You are beatifull!

  • we are learning this variation this summer, she is my inspiration! she is so strong and beautiful!

  • 16 people do not know how to dance!

  • @TeoKaiHui I can't believe there wasn't an applause at the end...

  • wow, how old was she when she did this ?!

  • @TheWorksCommittee like 15 or 16

  • She's perfect!

    This audience is a damn!

    Why not applaud?!

    My God!

If I were to die in the audience applaud!

  • @franamelia0 @ninachiquitina : They cut out the original sound for the TV show. They just put in the piece of music so they achieve a better sound for the audience at home =). You can hear that at 0:12 I'm pretty sure the live audience did applaud :D

  • @xXbealyXx Is why, thanks for enlighten me, is kind of impossible not even have applauded it.

  • @franamelia0 they edited it out probably

  • @yaymeIamanut I realized now, thanks!

  • @franamelia0 probably no applause because it's a competition and the audience shouldn't be taking any part.... I'd probably start applauding too though, she is terrific!

  • She's so good!! It's not just her technique which is fabulous, but she's so in character!!! The jumps and turns are great.....

  • odile right there

  • Santo Deus, ela é mto Sinistra!!!!!!!

  • does anyone know why shes at Boston Ballet? I heard she was offered a soloist spot in Hungary or something. Don't get me wrong Boston is a great company it just seems that she can do better

  • 'mazzate!

  • I was watching it thinking "OH MY GOD!" already at her first moves. I'm so jelaous! :D

  • dear lord you own it love it

  • UAL! ... Perfeeeita .... :D .. MARAVILHOSA!

  • She is very very VERY good!!!

  • werk!

  • im so happy she's with boston now :) i knew she would make it

  • she has such an amazing performance quality ! so jealous

i think the only correction i have is her weight seems back on her piques but it's still 100% better than what i could ever do.

  • pokla

  • this is amazing WOW!!!!!!

  • When I heard she was from Utah, I automatically wondered if she was mormon. I did my research, turns out she is. I've been dancing for ten years now, and she's a true inspiration to me(:

  • wow. thats all i can say

  • at competitions, she has been 15 for like 3 years haha..i dont mind her lieing about her age, cuz she is AMAZINGGGGGG congrats on all her sucess, well deserved! u can tell she works super hard!

  • So beautiful !!!!!

  • The technique is quite well executed though not into the details like the manege de pique really turned in. Are the heels forward (turned out) an option for her? This looks to me like a caricature and I didn't see a swan at all! Keep working on what swanlake means!

  • @dance4everballerina

    they didn't clap because it's a competition

  • @wifeofmurtagh No, the WBC edits out clapping/audience opinion. You can hear a bit at 0.12 - 0.13 before it's edited out...and then they edit the music back in.

  • @AcemanJones ah, ok...sorry, didn't know. As long as I kept doing competitions (I'm european), clapping was forbidden :)

  • You ar an amazing dancer! Very well done.

  • all i can say is wow!!!!

  • wowwwww she is amazing

  • Omigosh :D

    Shes great :)

  • wow!!!!! she's beautiful!!

  • Great pirouettes!! :)

  • fabulous!!!

    she's amazing!

best wishes to her in boston!!:D

  • NO FAIR!!! THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

  • I don't think people realize how freaking difficult that first turning sequence is, and she did it perfectly with practically no effort!

  • I am in love with her dancing. She is AMAZING. And she has so much time to progress in her career.

  • is she with boston ballet now?

  • wow that was brilliant- how old is she?

  • @anniebella15 I thought she was 16 years old in 2007...

  • she could do an higher pase

  • woooow! you are a lovely dancer!

  • This is my favorite variation!

  • GO Whitney!

  • whoa amazing.. !!

  • 10.. really???

  • I confess I jumped a little on the last part of the music it was way louder than the rest! :)

  • Okay soo ummm yea.... that was AMAZING!

  • braaaaaaaaaaaaaavo

  • She's perfect!

Have a question: where can I find this variation inside the Swan Lake ballet? I've got a DVD about this ballet, but I didn't find it yet :( Please, help me! Thanks :)

  • A version of this variation (well, this music at least) is usually found in the pas de trois in Swan Lake; it's not generally performed by Odile or Odette.

  • I was told that this is the alternate Odile variation by Grigorovitch. I've seen only two other professional ballet dancers do it on YT, but haven't found the music yet!

  • can you tell me who the two others are because i would like to watch them thanks!

  • Polina - Odile - Swan Lake 2 (not all of it)

Swan lake Odile variation Annija Kopstale (I don't think she's pro.)

Lali Kandelaki - Odile variation, Swan Lake - State Ballet of Georgia

Ballet Swan Lake Odile variation-Elena Nikolaeva

If anyone finds the music or at least knows the name of it (it still says music by Tchaikovsky) then please let me know!

  • thanks!

  • Found the music if you want to know!

Swan lake Act3 Odile another variation

  • Thanks for your answer! :)

  • bellissimaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • BEAUTIFUL DANCER! bravo :)....... you are one of the few ballerinas that put emotion into their dancing! i love watching you dance :) you are also not off the music! almost perfect i i would give you a score it would be a 9.9

  • OH MY GOD! She is amazing!! This is the first pre-professional dancer I have EVER seen who has been able to portray the swan-like arms and appearance. Her technique was out of this world, as well! And those pirouettes!!! AAAHHH!!!

  • fantastic!

  • check out the jumps! how old is she

  • That girl is in my science class!

  • Comment removed

  • @jettkrash omg ur lucky i would love to meet her!

  • Thanks, she helped me dissect a frog in biology.

  • there is a reason she won!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wowzers!

  • beautiful

  • she dances at boston ballet where i train!!

  • you have to see her in real life she is even more amazing!!!!

  • They're coupe jete en tournant(sp?) i think. Can be done with straight back leg or attitude.

  • well besides the coupes...we were just talking about the jump.... yea the prep for it is a low chaine turn, then i guess you could say its a jete...but i was just saying i thought the whole jump together was a calypso

  • .......although calypsos are generally supposed to be done with the back leg in attitude.

  • ok. yeah I've just never heard the term calypso used. Now i know, thanks. the Coupe jete en tournant is an RAD term.

  • really good but the hands/wrist/fingers were extremely distracting

  • WOW! This is great! I thought for sure you would get a few 10's on the artistic parts! Haha

  • shit man that was amazing!

  • WOW!

  • awesome but needs a higher passe. thats all im saying

  • she is fierce as shit...

  • Wow, that was amazing. The style was right as Odile, and her technique just makes it even better. bravo!

  • ela é a mais perfeita que eu ja vi

  • what is the leap at 1:35- 1:36 called?

  • That leap is called coupe jete (coopay-jhetay). :)

  • you mean at the end?? i thought those were like calypsos?

  • They are calypsos.. that's just not the technical term in ballet.

  • hhmmm...i do ballet too but we call them calypsos...they only use the technical terms when someone is being taught how to do them for the first time.

  • molto molto molto brava complimenti

  • she is flawless and amazing! Plus i love her tutu its so... PRETTY! she's fabulous!

  • this video is amazing, hre ballet skills and posture in dance are excellent, a great proformance.

  • She danced with the Hungarian Ballet in 08/09 but left before the season ended. I'm not sure what happened. She may be going to Boston in fall 09, I read.

  • has she ever competed in prix de lausanne? she is fabulous.

  • I cannot BELIEVE she is only 16 or 17....she has a loong career in front of her.. she's amazing!!!

  • how old is she she is so good!

  • Amazing arms! I absolutely love her arm movement!

  • OOMMMGGG!!!

  • unbelievable.

  • i freaking love tht. where is she now??

  • gahhh

  • OMG she made it look soo easy!!!

  • Whitney Jensen is now 16(or 17???) years old and she's a student of Valentina Kozlova at Kozlova's Dance Academy in New York

  • she is amazing

  • wow she is great and so confident, does anybody know where she is now?

  • it was great, but is it just me, or are her arms a little too stiff and un-swan-like?

  • every video of this girl i've seen do a variation she is doing the same pirrouettes over and over again. I wish this girl did something different other then doing variations which show off her only strength which is turning.

  • so true.

  • she has no idea about swan lake!

  • Omg! x she is amazin! like the best ive ever seen! wat was the most amount of pirouettes did she do? x

  • wow! dat was the best i've seen her do in all her variations!

  • She's 16 now, so she was 14 there. I've danced with her and she is quite impressive.

  • the twist and turns are terrific!!

  • WOW!!! she's perfect!!!! it's like watching a principal from the Bolshoi or one of the great companies dancing.

  • she's really good really really good

    what a performance!!!!

her amrs and hands are so lovely

    she's got the character

    how old is she??

she seems to be like around 14 to 16

  • she is AMAZING!!!! technical score 10!!!!!

  • Amazing arms and I especially love her hands!Really great! Does anybody know how old she is?

  • Her hands at the end are so elegant and...snappy! That goes for the whole performance, she's verrrry good.

What part of swan lake is this?? I don't remember seeing it?!

  • This is an alternate variation for the Black Swan, Odile, in Act 3. I think the only person I every saw perform it is Zakharova.

  • It's usually performed at the Bolshoi, as they have Grigorovitch's production of the ballet. On YT, I've seen Nina Ananiashvili and Alla Mikhalchenko perform it.

  • Ohhh, I remember seeing a vid of Zakharova performing it ...I wondered what it was even then. Thanks for informing me!

  • FANTASTIC!!!

  • she's really good, but her feet aren't really that good...

  • holy frickin guacamole

  • WOW!!!!!

  • i can't say anything thing bad about this girl! she's got great technique! it's only her wrists are a little floppy sometimes! but her technique is almost flawless!! xx
