  • THE BEST KNIFE FOR SURVIVAL !

  • They took the design of the traditional japanese survival knife and applied dumb insecure american shlok and boom coldsl srk crap knife made in asia. Being the cabon v back. Americans make the greatest knifes on the planet. Sorry no offense every country makes different products superior.

  • looks like a fallkniven a1 clone,but the fallkniven has a vg10 blade or a 3g powdersteel blade,much better than this knife

  • @bushwalker75 Lol, for the record fallkniven was a cold steel distributor before they broke off and made the a1. The a1 is the clone.

  • 12 people were under the car

  • now slice a tomato lol

  • I Just Love This Blade Even In San Mai 3 Steel!

  • Good to know that if I ever need to puncture the hood or a car or a military vest, I got a knife that won't let me down.

  • Best knife I have ever bought(even better in the woods than the recon scout!!!) Great hunting, camping, survival, and all-round outdoor knife!!!

  • $183 in australia...fucking hell

  • @googleeaterwoot ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!

  • @RatifiedCow yea...and the san mai ||| is over $300

  • @googleeaterwoot I didnt get the San Mai version...I got the AUS8 version for 65 bucks.

  • I don't listen to the United States Obama Sucking Kiss-Ass fiends. I pretty much do what I freakin' feel like. They don't like it - they can KMA!

  • i love this knife do you have it to?

  • For EDC / Survival, SRK or Scout ???? How about Seal Pup Elite ?

  • Great footage.

  • This is a combat/utility knife. It can do bushcraft, but that's not its strength.

  • a survival knife is not about stabing boots or car bonnets, why not show it cutting wood for shelters makeing feathersticks, its a survival knife not a urban vandal knife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yea, your are right, but you can't show it's strengths by cutting wood and doing feathersticks :P it's advertising, and if you want to sell something, you have to show that it ranks up to the expectations

  • @RedJellyable Thats because its a tactical knife just as much as it is a survival rescue knife (SRK) And some tasks might involve cutting a boot of an injured soldier, or stabbing through a flak jacket in a tactical role. The vid is to show its toughness and sharpness, what you do with it is up to you.

  • asta da briceag rezistent ;;))

  • well i will buy this one tomorow

  • A cheap knife will save your life if you know how to use it,just like a top of the line knife isnt much good to those who havnt taking to time to learn. The know how is the most important tool in the survival kit.

  • My son is a USAF Sere Specialist and this is their issue knife. He works a knife harder than any other person I know and he states that this knife works very well and he has full confidence in it. I think AUS8 is overly maligned. If it's heat treated right it can work very well...just ask a SERE specialist.

  • Rambo is probably thinking "Damn I should have gotten the SRK."

  • which is better? this or the trailblazer?

  • Pretty soon we may be lucky to even be able to carry this fixed blade legally. U.S. Customs is on a "witch hunt" to make all one-handed opening folding knives illegal. That takes 80% of the knives off the market and destroys yet another U.S. industry. Write your congressmen and congresswomen now!!

  • just bought a neck knife from RAT. screw folders now..

  • How can they do that... I think they would have to successfully take away guns before they can imagin doing that... And that won't ever happen, unless they physically send people into every household and physically take all the guns and ammo out of their house... America was formed by freaks with guns and knives, and that's how it's gonna stay...

  • @GuamKomudo they can have my gun when they pry it out my cold dead hand, I own this knife and many others, some to take into the woods hiking and camping, some for everyday use, and to get my SRK, they will have to pry that out of my cold dead hand! its in the 2nd amendment of the constitution on which this country was founded, and until we stand up they will keep tearing it down bit by bit, thats why its soo important to vote!

  • tbh the tests used against stationary targets against hard things are pretty useless. if he made a lunge for the flak vest while a man was wearing it the amount of force he used if he missed the moving target he'd be dead. very very dead

  • That really doesn't have anything to do with stress testing this knife, that has to do with how well the person is trained in knife combat.

  • Comment removed

  • Looks allot like a Fällkniven Model A1

  • hmmmmm...wonder if chuck norris can survive on this one hahaha

  • hmm, don´t know what this vid is about, but i hope this knive is not very expensive. i am from austria and our army knifes ("glock army knife") can do the same job, they cost about 25 dollars...

  • After watching this video. It would be logical to construct military flak vests from blocks of wood.

  • As as survival specialist in the military i use this knife as a primary fixed blade. It is legit, and no its 60-100 dollars retail.

  • kewl knife, must be expensive? I WANT ONE!

  • a perfect knife if you need to jump over high walls, break into cars and stab some one with a stab prof vest on.... .wait who WOULD need this knife?

  • I've got that knife and its very handy

  • Kofdee: I agree..why need any weapon at all, we live in a perfect world where we all bad guys wait patiently while you dial, the bad guy then freezes (like in the movies), cops (real good guys) materialize instantly and your rescued like a fare maiden ;)

  • unless i pull out my knife and slit your fucking throat

  • @KoFDee Im late on replying i know, But it is a military issue knife! your right they will just prance in there unarmed and do their job? And what about self defence? Criminals wont wait for you to call the cops. Oh and have you ever heard of a thing called utility...moron.

  • Honda

  • Try to fight them please! but remember not everyone thinks like you.

  • i would still Recommend a Ka-Bar

  • 0:05 Well damn if a Marine can stand on it then it must be a good knife!

    Oorah!

  • Like murdering? Buy this knife.

  • Troll.

  • Why else would you need to stab into a metal door or through as shoe or flak jacket? For a civilian, it is a murdering tool.

  • That reflects on your own desires perhaps. I own several of such knives and I have never murdered anyone or even thought of doing such a thing, and I know many people that are in the same position. Go and have confession as soon as possible and stay away from those killing thoughts.

  • @Despierto yea man,I don't live in the US,but I don't get it why the government hates so much giving weapons to their citizens?a criminal will always buy his weapons from the black market, because no killer wants to kill someone with a weapon that has it's ballistic info recorded (this is just an example),but in the end this applies to knives as well, making me think that the only reason they are doing this is because they don't want the people to be able to defend their freedom if its necessary

  • @ChronicMist Man, i love the US, but i aggree.

  • Assuming guns can kill people as well, they should not be sold to civilians either...

That was a pretty dumb statement if you asked me.

  • I would definately murder you with it, you liberal pussy...

  • The original Cold Steel SRK is a good knife, i have one from the early 90´s and it is just great. Having said that i wouldn´t buy the current one even if it was 20 $ a piece, the steel is just not good enough anymore.

ColdSteel needs to move into modern materials like VG-10 steel to get themselves out of the dark hole they are in right now.

  • considering that they no longer use carbon blades this video is obsolete. DO NOT go by this knife. it is constructed of AUS8A steel and DOES NOT hold up like the sk-5(1095 HC) blade did. there are plenty of other knives ie. the Ka-bar, that are cheeper and WAY better.

  • looks nice, but the question is .. for how long can the knife endure such conditions before going blumt or eventauly breaking

(especialy the first test on 0:4 looks quite unrealistic imho)

  • That's a very thick carbon steel blade. These were some of the strongest knives ever made. Of course everything has a breaking point too.

  • guess imma gona check some rewiev sites fro comparisn results :)

anyway, prety curious how would the knife stand next to ceramic blades n plated blades (japaneese or damascus)

would be intersting to see ^^

  • um...what you are to stupid to realize is that the only angle that a bullet could be able to pierce dragonskin is an that wouldn't be deadly no matter what u are wearing...also on the sapi plate the scales are designed to absorb all the energy on its own.

  • Ooooh shit, it was on future weapons? Well what are out troops still wearing........interseptors.

  • You can do the stuff they do in these videos with any decent knife.

  • my dad has that knife I love it. The only downside is that it is pretty heavy for a knife and can hurt your wrist if you are cutting in a survival situation or something from the wrist movement and the weight. But despite that it is the best knife I have ever held. I gotta get one =)

  • how much doesn cold steel pay you to hype their junk?

  • A dollar.

  • It really depends what the knife will be used for. For outdoor carry, 1095 is a tough, cheap, and excellent steel. THe only downside is that it isnt super rust resistant, but a light coat of oil can fix that. For stainless steel, the top in my opinion would be s30v. These metals can chip easier but hold edges and get edges a lot better.

  • id say carbon steel

  • I definitely have to get one of hose

  • No.

  • cool now i can cut through my boots like ive always wanted

  • "cool now i can cut through my boots like ive always wanted"

not only, you can additional nail your foot

on the ground in the same move, imagine that.

I really don´t know how I could survive

all those years without a cold steel SRK.

I think I´m gonna buy now 5 piece of this shit, so I´m never going to run out of it...

  • Don't waist your money on Cold Steel! Benchmade, Kershaw, or Zero Tolerance. You get what you pay for and cold steel is crap believe me! This thing sucks compared to a BM CSK 156. My friend received a Cold Steel in the Marines and it broke when he needed it the most so he busted out the the CSK I got him and finished the job with no dents or dings only slight scratches to the blade coating. The extra money you spend on a Benchmade will come back to you in the long run. you get what you pay for.

  • Correct me if im wrong , but r u saying that Kershaw , BM and ZT suck? Im just wondering...

  • This video is cut short! In the real video he goes on to cut through like five dudes at once as the badass metal riffs continue.

  • i have one to , and i cut car doors all the time !!

  • I want that!

  • I have both the cold steel srk and SOG seal pup elite straight edge and both are great knives but SOG seal pup has much sharper edge and the handle is much more ergonomics. but both are good knives

  • good quality knife

  • Next time i have to stab threw a cheap car door I'll remember to buy one of these knives. I also find that daily I have to stab threw flak jackets.

  • haha cool

  • its just to show you that the knife is awsome and can do just about anything ^^

  • the version used in this test is the one maked on carbon v or in aus 8?

  • WOW!!WHAT KIND OF STEEL IS THIS??

  • AUS-8A if i remember correctly.

  • how can you tell if its cold steel or just stainless steel? and what's the difference?

  • cold steel is just the name of the knife maker... OMG

  • cold steel is the brand.

  • omfg! he can stick it through a shoe!!!!! if u couldnt tell i was

  • You were what?

  • ...he was gay

    still is i guess

  • he still stuck it through the flakk vest.

  • around 80 bucks. It's decent for using, but not much to look at.

  • wow

how much does this knife cost???

  • $120

  • BRUTAL TESTER! :0

  • jaki rzeźnik w blache wbić nuż,pewnie ostrzył cały rok

  • Omg naucz się orografii najpierw, a potem komentuj.

  • Explain your argument.

  • hmmm the flak vest doesnt look too promising does it?

  • thats why its called a flak vest its only good for protection against flak, shrapnel etc, knives can also cut through kevlar bullet vests

  • whoa, i thought they were good

  • no, they arent.

  • ok that was dumb to show that this knife can stab through a standard issue flak vest, now look what our troops gonna see those damn terrorists armed with along with their firearms.

  • obviously our troops arent going to stab a terrorist with one of these knives, this video is jus prooving how strong these knives r... and they R very strong.

  • Dumb ass, just about anything will penetrate a "flak" vest. They are made to stop projectiles. An ice pick would go right through, as would just about any other sharp knife.

  • It's not about supporting "YOUR" troops, it's about making money. Hell I want one of these.

  • 好刀!

  • carbon steel is AMAZING. My old stainless knifes loose their tips after i stab wood after 2 tries let alone STAB THRU A CAR HOOD lol

  • but can it stab through a phone book

  • they want you to buy one and try

  • mmm...I'm concerned about the things they cut in these videos O_o...car hoods, rope, flak jackets? Babies? Small puppies?

  • Lol

  • im going to africa next year, i was thinking of buying one. can anyone recomend it?

  • i think that unless you gonna go with the natives no point but if you plan on getting lost get a what you can eat guide and that knife is good as a shovel for vegetations and building shelter lol.

  • yea, you can, you should also get a shot gun. and a satelite cellphone if you want to see the wilderness.

  • get a usmc ka-bar!

may be a kukuri, its a great bush knife

  • all natives in africa use an opinel knife - buy one too

  • yeah one by okapi. had one once there machetes cut better than a cold steel panga. (18 inch) the okapi was 14

  • I'm in need of a new survival knife, I like the Gerber LMF II but is this knife any better?

  • fuck CS for using aus8 on a survival knife WTF O_o

  • looks like a nicew no-spin throwing knife as well.. quite robust..

  • nice kife i want it

  • made in taiwan

  • Made in Japan now. Steel AUS8A (instead Carbon V) from Seki. And new coating - teflon instead epoxide.

  • I just recently bought a Dark Ops knife and honestly it is much better than any Cold Steel knife of similar price or type.

  • They are a decent knife and this video is good for entertainment. You cant deflect bullets or slash a brink in two with a single stroke or anything. then again no knife can do that.

  • A Properly made katana can deflect bullets and a kukri will easily chop a brick in half with one stroke.

  • Any slab of steel thick enough can deflect bullets. However, i can vouch for the brick thing. I have a Cold Steel Kukri.

  • actually, most guns now can go straight through steel. which is why they have kevlar which is like 10x stronger than steel. and some guns can still shoot through that

  • Most guns can go through four meters of solid steel? I didn't know that.

  • there is no sword (or katana) that is 4 meters thick. He was just talking about if a sword was made of good steel, it could block bullets. and it wouldn't be able to

  • Nope, still use steel and ceramic plates. Kevlar won't stop too much.

  • well then why don't they use steel body armor instead? come on dude, i know these things. So does everyone in the military

  • If you knew these things, you'd know what a plate carrier was and what goes into one, plates. You need ceramic or steel plates to break the round apart before it hits the kevlar for higher calibre/velocity weapons.

  • standard rifle rounds still go through that at a decent range. The BEST body armor, dragon skin, is not made out of steel. And the the boyd armor that has the plates inserted into them, the plates are only made of ceramic, not steel

  • oh, sorry. i did my research, they do also insert steel plates. But I am still 100% sure that kevlar is much stronger than steel. and, as you said, the steel breaks the round apart, and the kevlar does all of the stopping

  • kevlar and steel are completely different materials... Kevlar is woven and steel is metal... the kevlar just prevents piercing.

  • yes... i know that. thats what i said...

  • Dragon skin didn't hold up to military standards dude.

  • um yes it did. Watch future weapons, it completely stops an mp5, m4, ak47, and it even survives a grenade without pretty much any damage

  • Yeah but what future weapons does not show is the fact that it does not stop angled shots, and not to mention it lets all of that kenetic energy through since there is no sapi plate. So all in all Dragon skins sucks.

  • yea, because obviously you leart everything by watching a 5 minute clip on future weapons..

  • Bitch...

  • hahahaha wtf?

  • Mate, until you have first hand experience please stop blathering on.

And please don't say you do, it's obvious you don't.

  • you dont know what you're talking about... kevlar is just a tightly woven fabric that resists puncture, and it's used to stop fragments. both bullet fragments and fragments from the armour plate when it shatters after the bullet hits it. maybe you sheould go watch more future weapons so you can say you know everything.

  • um you're a little late there, bud. maybe it would've been better to reply to a comment less than a year ago so I would actually remember what I was talking about.

Kevlar is stronger than steel, and steel doesnt stop bullets well. I'm pretty sure thats the only point I was trying to make

  • They change srk from carbon to stainless ... why do this?

  • every video you talking about the busse bullshit get a fucking life

  • Maybe he's getting paid.

  • damn it goes through a car hood

  • i did that wood thing with my knife and the tip bent hahahhaahahahahah thx fat guy for giving me ideas

  • Yeah? With a cold steel? And who are you calling fat? :P

  • wow

  • Now that's a KNIFE!

  • i had one of these knives when i lived in the united states. it is so thick it is like a prybar with a rubber handle. the old western knife company made them first under their name and they sold for about fifteen dollars the best i remember. they also made them for this guy, and some of his other knives until they went out of buisness.

  • Wow nice, I got to get myself one of thoughs.

  • love it so much man!

  • sick, i can now stab a car.

  • Tungur knivur! :D

  • Nice, but the Glock Field Knife is the best!

  • strong knife

  • i hate knives

  • wtf how?

  • ....ok??

  • Well... and I hate scissors. Who cares?

  • Flak jackets like that are not bullet proof vests. That LOOKS like a Vietnam era flack jacket. Those flak jackets didnt do shit. They were like several layers of thick fiber. no wonder he can go thru it. And the car door is not hard to get thru, a kitchen knife can without breakign

  • It is a pretty tough knife for $50

  • if only I had this knife for that time i was jumped by an unruly gang of used carhoods or that time a leather shoe tried to kidnapp me. Still haunts me to this day.

  • Ah, Indeed. These are frightening times we live in. I can't even step foot into the junkyard with out my knife and a .45!

  • why can't it go through a wooden plank, while it can go through a flak vest?

  • The wooden plank test is showing that the tip will not deform or break even with the sideways prying action. It isn't really a test of penetration.

  • it can cut through a boot but can it cut through a boot with a foot in it???

    .......if so i want one

  • that shoe! lol!

  • where can i get one?

  • SRK, is a really good knife, been using mine for about 3 years now, hasn't failed me yet.
