the people who were hung were very brave they knew they did nothing wrong but they werent going to take the coward way out by confessing because they knew that was lieing and they diddnt want to keep living because of a lie they were very brave indeed very brave
Sure, it's only the christian's version of 'sharia law' which is rapidly coming down the tracks but, as usual, the papists will be so busy burying their finger deep in their assholes that they won't notice until it's too late. In the meantime decent people who see Atheism as just another religion will end up paying the price.
it's seriously tragic how so many innocent lives were lost all for the amusement of some bored girls...
it makes me think that they must've had some kind of psychological disease, because convicting people to die should not be something that you take pleasure in
@HipHopcheerleader actually i read the crucible most of it is real but you have to realize some of it is fiction take the affair for example some ages are changed and what not they were changed to make a dramatic impact for the play but yes some detail that is not shown here can be found in the crucuble its a great play
I wonder if these are Casey Anthony's distant relatives. All they did was accuse and point the finger to save their butts, leading to innocent people being accused and or killed.
if i was accused by one of those stupid bitches i would accept my death but first i would beat the shit out of one of them cunts and say i lived a full life...at least i would die satisfied.
I think someone should adapt this into a modern day film.I don't mean refilm the events with new technology, but retell the entire tale..skip the witches but focus on the power of accusation.I think it could be something big?If I ever do see a film like that come out,bet your socks I'm seeing it.
the problem to which this had happened is because the church was focusing more on law then having there hearts close to God. In this case God is against death done by a human, like killing witches. What they should have done is fastened to drive the evil spirits away. In this progress they would have seen the true witches. Because God is more powerful then the evil. Witches pracitice would back fire at them, then they would be sick to death. Then it would be Gods trial.
This is one of the reasons why people don't like ATTENTION WHORES!! They'll do anything to get it, even sacrifice the lives of the innocent to get it.
The guy with the glasses' speech at the end about witch hunts not continuing is pretty false considering the case of the West Memphis Three. Thank god they are free. But after 18 years in prison and one of them 18 years on death row. You have to ask serious questions about the integrity of the American justice system. These guys were without a doubt guilty before being proven so. Because they were different and wore black AND DARED to question Christian beliefs.
this is one reason y i will never ever convert to christianity i tell the missionaries i am not gonna make a pack with ur religion for it will give me regret and great suffering later in the future
i wish we knew if those girls were faking there is only one of the that i think should of been forgiven the one that confesed of she hath done.To me i think they were faking but well never know.I hope that never happens again those people to me did not have enough evidense to kill them the only evidense was from the mouth
those girls were probably suffering from some sort of paranoid disorder prompted by some sort of study into popular mystical beliefs of the time. either that or they wanted attention as sweetheart2109 says lol
@jdncoke2 And Professor Karlson also proposed elsewhere that many of the girls may have been suffering from PTSD; a number of them had been orphaned by attacks from angry indigenous peoples (who certainly had a right to indignation!) and had even witnessed the attacks. Combine the PTSD with the pressure for young women to marry (and many orphans hadn't support systems and could not afford the security of marriage) and the marginal position of women and you have an explosive combination.
@diddims And again, it's very likely that these young women, who were so tightly controlled and in such a marginal position, took full advantage of a chance for attention and power.
They should have gotten the punishment that they earned for recklessly sending the innocent to their deaths; Anne Putnam blaming Satan for what she did just speaks volumes about trying to avoid responsibility.
I think those girls just wanted a little attention. Think about it every time these girls accuse someone they are center of attention. They did not care who they hurt they just wanted attention.
I love how when these girls were accusing people that were outcasts in society then their word was taken as truth. However when they began to accuse prominent members of the community then people started to question it. foolishness
This is what happens when religious beliefs are taken too far. The real "witches" here are the girls who had accused innocent people for their own pleasure.
@Graymoths You got that right, dude. They themselves caused the hysteria just for their attention. At least one of them is sorry that they did it. But blaming the devil for spreading the fear? No, they did it themselves, and hopefully God has forgiven one of girls. But to be honest, I don't know about the rest of them.
@Graymoths ...religion is part of it, yes...but had lots to do with economics, politics, conflict between france and england, threat of algonquin indians, etc.... religion was only the catalyst
Only in america could the "TRUTH" be "BS"......think about that,u think it's wrong to be a free thinker,to be intelligent..to seek truth??? Lord jesus is a story most people in the uk grow out of by the time they are 8. America sadly is a very stupid religious country. I hope u know the politicians who rule over u are athiests in private..just using religion to control you! Dont waste ur life..this doc shows how dumb superstition is...or do u belive in witches?
yeah, those girls were probably reading their harry potter books and playing with their ouija boards and when they danced with the devil and the devil danced back they needed someone to blame and who better to blame than the outcasts who mind their own business

This is exactly why, I think, we have separation of church and state. You let a church run a country and people die.
