  • Utterly entrancing! I managed to escape the Irish winter drizzle for a few moments there. I like the self-satisfied looks at the beer table, which is how I would look after such an unforgettable flight. Thanks for posting that.

  • Sisteron 4 ever

  • or "above" the rat race. You gotta climb it to get there

  • made me cry, awesome! wish i was young again ! ex high hour glider rider from the 80s ! thanks.

  • You are never too old my friend, 2 seater flying is even better fun

  • Nice video! Need to get to the Alps sometime - looks like fun!

    J.

  • nice vid!

  • Great film!

A bit more anti collision markings on the glider would be appropriate when flying in the alps

  • There are plenty on the glider but none show in the angles we used, we returned later in the year with an ASH25E with no markings anf flew from Sisteron with no problems but are aware that some sites make it a hard rule. The manufacturers advise against dayglow stickers!!!

    Regards Terry

  • Next year anti collision markings and flarm will be compulsory on all airfields in the SE French alps.

    I think they are right!

If you fly there for just a few weeks, dayglow stickers won't hurt the glider at all. You can also paint them on the glider.

  • No strong feelings either way on dayglow but the flarm is excellent. Where do you fly?

  • A pure white glider is usually very hard to detect when flying overhead snowy mountains.

Flarm is a great tool to detect other gliders but the correct position of the RF antenna needs a lot of attention. ( see the flarm forum). I fly a lot from St Auban, but also from other airfields in the Durance valley. It's one of the best places in the world for soaring.

  • Have just been watching some good flying out of Logan in the US.

  • Does Pete ever smile? ;)

  • Pete does take his flying seriously, he's contentious and dictated@*&^%$ Oops sumfing got stuck in my throat.

The outakes are worth a look but I have been baenned from publishing them!!!

  • Fantastico ragazzi! Fantastic guys!

  • Gratzia mio amiche

  • Bugger.... the RAFGSA are returning next year and I'm now a friggin civi, no more cheap trips for me.....

  • Looking forward to getting back in Sisteron next year. The beer would then be great ! Currently back in Montreal !

  • Thanks for the Excellent video ! - Just obtained my glider licence from "Aeroclub de Sisteron" after a second stay (already had my canadian private pilot licence). Beware - this is highly addictive - now faced with the prospect of a never ending desire to soar in the southern Alps...

Suggest you also check "glisse sur le glacier blanc" : Had a flight that culminated over there

  • If you look very carefully there is a 1/2 second clip of le glacier blanc in the middle of the Video, glad you liked it. just waiting for the guys to pick me up, we're on our way there today. Maybe see you for a beer!!

  • Lucky Gits Brill

  • Stand by for number 2 with a lot more air to air ( I hope)

  • Excellent. I suspect Pete is going to have a queue of people wanting to join him on his next trip.

  • Next trip departs on thursday 10th with Dickie Pete Phil Terry Stu plus ASH25E and Duo!!!!!!
