In honesty and this is coming from a man who has played every single RE game ever. Paul WS Anderson did a good job on the series.
However, if he hadn't given Alice superpowers, hadn't introduced the game characters and kept it original then the series would be much better. Just think of what Resident Evil would be like in the movies if it didn't have game characters in it. It'd be more thrilling and better because we wouldn't have expectation.
@cybersunday07 I agree but a lot of people went to see it just to see what those franchise characters would do in the movies , which wasn't much lol. I just dont like when they have a good thing going and they screw it up. In my opinion I dont think the movies plots are deep enough or have any objective it fees more like like episodes or something to me.
This is not wesker at all this is some cheap phony and it is a actor who could not even bother to dye his hair the correct color to get albert's near golden blond hair this is not how he fight this is just cheap rip off of a otherwise awesome character so thank you cinema for ruining a character i have held dear for years :P i will just stick to the video games now

If you actually didn't slow anything down this movie would be so short! If you compared it to the others it was horrible, and Wesker was like nothing compared to the video game character. Yeah the guy playing him is a good actor but it's not....the same.
i love how in all resident evil movies they never seem to run out of ammo until they need it. like when they fall out the window they have like a billion shots in a tmp but when they are fighting 1 or 2 zombies there's never any bullets.
Whats wrong with the movies? Where do I start? Bad acting, bad story, bad actors, psychic powers (really???), Milla Jovovich stealing all the other characters glory, pretty much everything. I don't mind that it veered off into it's own plots, but at least they could've made a good movie. Instead we got this shit fest. As a movie on its own it was crap. The fact that it's based on a game is even worse. It just fucks the gamers over. Fuck Milla Jovovich, fuck her husband, fuck Ali Larter. Crap.

These movies manage to ruin everything good about Resident Evil. Honestly, they could've just called this something else, like The Evil Within, or some shit, and passed it off as it's own original creation. Why the hell did they have to slap the Resident Evil title on this god awful series of movies?
Is it just me, or are the Resident Evil movies getting more and more retarded? The only decent thing about it, was catching a snippet of Milla Jovovich's tits.
They were trying to copy the fight with Wesker on Resident Evil 5 (the game). On the game, the glasses were coming right to Chris's face. On the movie the glasses was too far away and was going to breeze right past him (an incredible mistake on the movie's part) Overall this movie kinda anooyed me because of the characters and the way things went.
They made Wesker seem weak and stupid and Chris and Claire seem like idiots imo.
i think catching those glasses is really cool, not only is it from the cut scene in the game RE5 but also shows chris's auto reflex's, loved this movie!

They kind of screwed up. Maybe because they didn't know how to do some effects. But they should have had the Wesker fight longer and better. And along with some other parts of the movie. It just wasn't as exciting. Hopefully the next one will be better like with Wesker unknowingly survives and comes back and they make an even better fight out of it if there is another one coming out.

You know what they should have done? Had the original charicter voices pre recorded then had the actors mouth it....If they are great actors, then they could pull it off
And also, the actors and actresses chosen were probably the best they could have done for replications. It's extremely hard to find a perfect replication for a character. ESPECIALLY Wesker
@weskerman1911 Robert Patrick would've made a great wesker, just by way of the fact that they look so similar. Look at him as the T-1000 in Terminator 2.

People just want movie replications of the game and that would be stupid. Seeing the movie that has a completely new story is way better because then you can be excited on seeing your favorite characters and not be bored in seeing what happens because you know it already. The games and the movies are completely different subjects and you should just enjoy them both as a true fan would.

Like Falcon Punch Sunglasses. It was a double trap, DONT CATCH THE SUNGLASSES = INSTA DEATH, catch the sunglasses = STILL GET KNOCKED THE CRAP OUT BUT AT LEAST THE SHADES STAY CLEAN lol
Yeah, but stop to catch them AND just stand there for a second? Would've made more sense to dodge them at the least. Doubt it would've done that much damage if he could catch them that easily anyways.
On the game RE5 the glasses was coming right towards his face (the movie kinda messed it up because the glasses would've just flew by without even coming close to contact). Basically on the game, reflexes took part in catching it.
To give the movie some credit; would you have known it was glasses that he thrown? Think about it in real time, he threw that quick and Chris didn't see he had it.
I will thumbs you up though since this is the movie and not the game lol.
Still, the way it looked here Chris just kinda reached out to grab the glasses. I realize it's reflex, but this was an awful movie altogether, so I'm not going to nitpick just this scene. There were much worse instances.

It's not just video game adaptations. Pretty much anything out of hollywood these days is mediocre at best. That's why I gave up on TV and movies altogether and turned to reading.
@kaizerlion It happens the other way too. Most video games based off of movies suck. BTW you forgot the max payne movie based off the game. The game was awesome and I recommend it. the movie had great acting, but a terrible story.
@kaizerlion well, Silent Hill, to me, was the best movie adaption to a videogame by far. The smallest of things are included in the film, except for some things, but overall, some people had no idea it was based on a game! :) DOA was crap too, I don't even wanna see Tekken or Street fighter.
not half good / Awesome as the game character, Motion Capture + great voice over = unmatched performance. its hard for an actor to reach such level...
What's really pathetic is that I just watched this movie and actually hoped for something that wasn't completely knocked off from the video game. This fight was the WORST, ever, no originality.

@cjjtheone Indefinitely you can't seem to read outside of your mind whatsoever. I'm not making any critical acclaims to wanting something entirely based off of the games or something not based on the games. What I don't like is when they try to incorporate both aspects (like this failure of a movie did), whether the movie follows the game or doesn't is fine by me, but it's the severe lacking of any originality. The movie was decent, except for this single scene...just made the movie crash.
@MicahOmahaSuicidal sure they played it safe but in some aspects it was for the better. i mean silent hill the movie was basically the live actor game with no origanality at all but it was still good. to be fair they did a lot for the movie stand out.
when you say you want originality, what exactly do you mean, like a new a C Virus? theres not much you can do with an inspired film.
@cjjtheone Originality is to just come up with their own material OR get the proper approval from Capcom to just have made all the movies straight up off the game. That's what Don Carmody did when producing Silent Hill, but the producers of the Resident Evil Movies never did that and to avoid certain copyright infringements they had to basically come up with their own material, in which case drastically failed when they tried to incorporate game designs into the movie.

Yet to continue about this particular RE failure, GAME=MOVIE or GAME=/=MOVIE, never, ever should it be anything but. They were trying to copy the fight with Wesker on Resident Evil 5 (the game). On the game, the glasses were coming right to Chris's face. On the movie the glasses was too far away and was going to breeze right past him (an incredible mistake on the movie's part) Overall this movie kinda anooyed me because of the characters and the way things went.
They made Wesker seem weak and stupid and Chris and Claire seem like idiots imo.

Plus I dont want them to try to make him totally the same, because if they do they will screw it up. If they make them a bit different its not as bad.

They kind of screwed up. Maybe because they didn't know how to do some effects. But they should have had the Wesker fight longer and better. And along with some other parts of the movie. It just wasn't as exciting. Hopefully the next one will be better like with Wesker unknowingly survives and comes back and they make an even better fight out of it if there is another one coming out.

People just want movie replications of the game and that would be stupid. Seeing the movie that has a completely new story is way better because then you can be excited on seeing your favorite characters and not be bored in seeing what happens because you know it already. The games and the movies are completely different subjects and you should just enjoy them both as a true fan would.

On the game RE5 the glasses was coming right towards his face (the movie kinda messed it up because the glasses would've just flew by without even coming close to contact). Basically on the game, reflexes took part in catching it.
To give the movie some credit; would you have known it was glasses that he thrown? Think about it in real time, he threw that quick and Chris didn't see he had it.
I will thumbs you up though since this is the movie and not the game lol.

I'm not making any critical acclaims to wanting something entirely based off of the games or something not based on the games. What I don't like is when they try to incorporate both aspects (like this failure of a movie did), whether the movie follows the game or doesn't is fine by me, but it's the severe lacking of any originality. The movie was decent, except for this single scene...just made the movie crash.

@cjjtheone Originality is to just come up with their own material OR get the proper approval from Capcom to just have made all the movies straight up off the game. That's what Don Carmody did when producing Silent Hill, but the producers of the Resident Evil Movies never did that and to avoid certain copyright infringements they had to basically come up with their own material, in which case drastically failed when they tried to incorporate game designs into the movie.
