They didn't "slam" him. They pulled him off the vehicle, and may of pulled a little to hard which caused the man to stumble. You also have to take into the account that this may was probably intoxicated, so the "Fall", was most likely worse than it had to be because of that. The NYPD are a 'pro people' organisation. The guy on top of the truck was harmless enough. It is the asshole who kept yelling 'you're on you tube' who should have been pummeled and arrested.
