Well except you can't use a JDAM bomb hardly ever in Iraq because most fighting is done in cities (on purpose) and a JDAM bomb would obliterate a huge area - relative - in a city.

Afghanistan is a different story since there are cells of insurgents in the open since there are far fewer cities. Probably a lot more JDAM action there.

However, having the best weapons doesn't win a war like this, as we all know SIX years later. You can't bomb an insurgency within a population.

Wait till NATO forces pull out, and then you will see how much chaos Iraq will be in(civil war). Elections happened in Afghanistan too but see what's happening there. I agree, elections in Iraq don't mean a victory. But we really did achieve what we went in to do, and that is take down saddam's regime. The purpose of the war keeps changing. At this point, we've done all we can, but we really have had a positive democratic influence in the region, at least thats what all my friends in the Army tell me.

In my humble opinion, the latter two are/were more than enough reason to do what we did, especially considering the post 9-11 circumstances. The American people were in favor of a war at the time.
