So what if people decide to call this industrial or synthpop, I search for and listen to Industrial as a general genre of music that I know will turn up great tracks, tracks such as THIS ONE, it works both ways.

What's so different between the 'industrial' scene and the 'synthpop' scene anyway?

Anyway, you can call it "rock" if you like, but genres are important for somethin you just said: if this is called industrial, and I look for more industrial songs, I could find NIN...Psyclon Nine...and might not like them. A genre is useful to find songs and artists that sound more or less the same, and for this goal, calling this song futurepop or ebm is better. Covenant make industrial songs too, btw :)

@Karvjiash Industrial can be used as an umberella term, too. By your definition Throbbing Gristle is about the only industrial band there is, because only TG sounds like TG xD

Futurepop = Trance influenced 2nd wave EBM, EBM = Industrial Dance. Just because it has a coherrent song structure and a 4 to the floor beat doesn't un-industrialize it :) There could be a snot faced angry punk trapped somewhere underneath all the layers of this song, propably sleeping though.
