  • Could you use something like a headset mic to modulate your voice through the vocoder?

  • But can you use this as a vocoder for live voice chat?

  • @ThisGuyThe52n you can if you route live audio as modulator

  • Ahh thank you for that dude!

  • simple & fast! Perfect! well done & thankyou for share it!

  • I've seen so many tutorials on this, but they are all like 30 mins! Great job in keeping it nice and simple! :)

  • Great video. Fast and easy to understand and not 20 minutes long.

  • nice one!

  • omfg why can't I do this? I've done these exact steps and it just wont work! I have fl studio 9 but that shouldn't matter right?

  • So if I was using vocals with the vocoder, the vocals would be the LEFT MODULATOR?

  • That's bad ass...I just tried it and it's freakin' awesome...the possibilities are ENDLESS with all the ways to make sounds using this program...Thanks a lot for postin' somethin like this and you explained it VERY well.

  • Yeah, 5 Stars, This is the most practical and fast tutorial, man, you rock!

  • Thanks so much for the help :)

  • WAY BETTER THAN NFX/WarBeats. omg they're so off.

but you got right tot he point dude. i like i like!

  • Please check my video response and comment. I made that schtuff using the knowledge given in this video. Thanks, newechoproductions!

  • Okay, I did everything mentioned here and for some reason I can see that my synth is going through the vocoder as well as my drum sample. However they seem to only running separately. I cannot hear the synth with the drum effect on in! Can anyone shed some light as to why?

  • thanks a lot for the info. for some reason it didn't work at first but it was bc the carrier was cut off if that helps anyone. check out my beats...........thanks

  • Oh Yes!!! Thanks!!!

  • better than nfx cuz u go tto the point and short!

  • short and to the point; THANKS MATE

  • THE BEST !

  • thanks for putting this into a 3 min video opposed to toehr people who screw around and expand to 10 mins + ,,,, thanks mate,,, 5 stars faved.

  • Thanx!

  • goddamn ur awesome

  • excellent video. i like how the viewer can actually SEE WHAT YOURE DOING ON SCREEN! [unlike so many other tutorials...] straight to the point with great information.

    5 stars for you!

  • Hey Thanks!!!

  • This way can u sound like imogen heap in hide and seek??

  • I believe she did use vocoding for that effect.

  • When i am connecting my micropone, (putting ASIO4ALL on). My sounds keeps being silince! When i am turning my microphone off and putting primary sound driver on, then i can hear the sounds again!

Help me, why cant i use my mic and press the sounds so i can hear them, at the same time? :S

    Please answer

    /Nicklas

  • I'd post this in the FL Studio forums along with more info on your sound card and see if anyone else has your same setup can comment.

  • @Nicklaspm i had the same problem and uploaded a video for ya bud.

  • great tutorial man :), i just have one question how would i record the vocoded sound ?

  • You can use Edison to resample into an audio clip.

  • So I got This issue. my mic input doesn't register when I have my audio output on, but does when i turn it off. also and this may be unrelated but sometimes my computer doesnt register my sound card but it usually does. any solutions to these issues. My mic is a headset that plugs into the pink jack on the side of my laptop.

  • warbeats made this but it was wayyyyyyyy too long

    thxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • cool!

  • awesome, i looked at another tutorial and he forgot to mention to route only to the vocoder, which was giving me major problems. also i couldnt use prerecorded stuff the way he explained it. and the send to free track thing was really helpful too. thanks!

  • Great! Glad you are up and running.

  • thank you so mutch

    THANK YOU UP 5/5

  • DUDE THANKS (L)

  • You are most welcome. Have fun vocoding!

  • thanks alot for making this video. i finally figured out what i was doing wrong. i didnt even know i had to unclick the master in each item to route thru vocoder only. no wonder it was mixing. thanks!

  • Your welcome. Yeah that's the tricky part for sure. Glad your up and running with the Vocoder.

  • Thnx, i watched three tutorials that didnt work, this one did =D

  • Very helpful thanks bro

  • thanks alot this worked well.

  • Great video. I was wondering if you could help me with a problem I've been having combining my voice with a carrier. I can get the sounds to combine for that robotic sound, but I can still hear my own original voice in the background. MOD and CAR are all the way down in the vocoder, WET is all the way up. I've tried everything that I can think of and can't seem to entirely get rid of it without having the volume very low. Any suggestions? Thank you very much, if you decide to help me.

  • Sounds like you didn't pull the signal from the VOX out of the master mix. You need to route only to the Vocoder effect. Go to 2:00 min. mark in the video and make sure you doing this step.

  • Is a synthesizer the same as a vocoder? And how do I put it with my music? I'm trying to get my music on iTunes.

  • Yeah man! Finally I understand how works the fckng vocoder. Thank you!!

  • Thanks for the tutorial. I finally understand how to do it now. lol

  • when ever i do it the drums sound quiet and it sounds like the synth is playing the drums, not the actuall drums

  • Right, that's exactly what it's supposed to sound like. If you use vocals instead of drums for the modulator you will achieve the more classic robotic synth sound.

  • i did what u said and all i hear is synth what did i do wrong?

  • Steps outlined in the tutorial work on FL7 and FL8. So, if it's not working you missed a step.

  • nvm got it working

  • when i use the mixer, its not showing me all the same stuff...i cant route anything to the vocoder.

  • Video is for FL7 and FL8. Are you on an older version?

  • Yes. In the modulator track, pan left, then in the associated mixer channel, specify the appropriate in for track input that is associated with your mic. You have to use ASIO drivers. In the help file search for "mixer input" for details on how to rout inputs.

  • Is it possible to vocode live from a microphone?

  • thanx. short and to the point

  • how do you route them?

  • How do you get the Vocoder. My version doesn't have it for some reason. I can't find it.

  • It's definitely built-in. You might want to re-install.

  • I found it. Thanks.

  • fruty loops is a big one, but he can´t allow to work whit vst and to be slave from the a secuencer for sample....but i start whit fl

    estudio anyway

  • Quick, efficient, and flawless. Great job

  • Best tutorial out there. The others I've seen were absolutely terrible.

  • or unreasonably long

  • You the Man...thx bro!!!

  • great tutorial easy and understandable

  • thank you man i learnt all fl studio beside the vocoder

    very thnxx man

  • awesome thanks!

  • thank you so match you rule

  • one problem..how do i get into it?

  • Are you talking about the actual vodcoder effect itself? If that's the case then u just click on the Vocoder effect listed on whatever channle you assigned it to. Should be a list of effects for each channle on the right hand side of your channle list, you can add Vocoder as an effect there if you didn't know that already.

  • whats a channel?

  • awesome

  • nice, thanks

  • thank

    you

  • After all these years I finally figured it out! Thanks a lot!

  • thank you so much, i've always wanted to use the vocoder... and now I will in my next song thanks to you! good tutorial!

  • Do you need a midi interface to control the "carrier"?

  • No. You can control it via the piano roll or step sequencer.

  • Awesome - thanks man

  • thanx for the tutorial! this really helped!

  • HOW DO U GET IT ONTO YOUR SONG!!!

  • thank you so much its taken me forever to figure out how to get the vocoder to work, but your video is great!

  • good stuff

  • ....Nice Tutorial Dude.....

But Plz Tell Me which Screen Capture Software u used..
