That's bad ass...I just tried it and it's freakin' awesome...the possibilities are ENDLESS with all the ways to make sounds using this program...Thanks a lot for postin' somethin like this and you explained it VERY well.
Okay, I did everything mentioned here and for some reason I can see that my synth is going through the vocoder as well as my drum sample. However they seem to only running separately. I cannot hear the synth with the drum effect on in! Can anyone shed some light as to why?
thanks a lot for the info. for some reason it didn't work at first but it was bc the carrier was cut off if that helps anyone. check out my beats...........thanks
excellent video. i like how the viewer can actually SEE WHAT YOURE DOING ON SCREEN! [unlike so many other tutorials...] straight to the point with great information.
When i am connecting my micropone, (putting ASIO4ALL on). My sounds keeps being silince! When i am turning my microphone off and putting primary sound driver on, then i can hear the sounds again!
Help me, why cant i use my mic and press the sounds so i can hear them, at the same time? :S
So I got This issue. my mic input doesn't register when I have my audio output on, but does when i turn it off. also and this may be unrelated but sometimes my computer doesnt register my sound card but it usually does. any solutions to these issues. My mic is a headset that plugs into the pink jack on the side of my laptop.
awesome, i looked at another tutorial and he forgot to mention to route only to the vocoder, which was giving me major problems. also i couldnt use prerecorded stuff the way he explained it. and the send to free track thing was really helpful too. thanks!
thanks alot for making this video. i finally figured out what i was doing wrong. i didnt even know i had to unclick the master in each item to route thru vocoder only. no wonder it was mixing. thanks!
Great video. I was wondering if you could help me with a problem I've been having combining my voice with a carrier. I can get the sounds to combine for that robotic sound, but I can still hear my own original voice in the background. MOD and CAR are all the way down in the vocoder, WET is all the way up. I've tried everything that I can think of and can't seem to entirely get rid of it without having the volume very low. Any suggestions? Thank you very much, if you decide to help me.
Sounds like you didn't pull the signal from the VOX out of the master mix. You need to route only to the Vocoder effect. Go to 2:00 min. mark in the video and make sure you doing this step.
Right, that's exactly what it's supposed to sound like. If you use vocals instead of drums for the modulator you will achieve the more classic robotic synth sound.
Yes. In the modulator track, pan left, then in the associated mixer channel, specify the appropriate in for track input that is associated with your mic. You have to use ASIO drivers. In the help file search for "mixer input" for details on how to rout inputs.
Are you talking about the actual vodcoder effect itself? If that's the case then u just click on the Vocoder effect listed on whatever channle you assigned it to. Should be a list of effects for each channle on the right hand side of your channle list, you can add Vocoder as an effect there if you didn't know that already.
Could you use something like a headset mic to modulate your voice through the vocoder?
coolbpf66 2 weeks ago
But can you use this as a vocoder for live voice chat?
ThisGuyThe52nd 3 months ago
@ThisGuyThe52n you can if you route live audio as modulator

So if I was using vocals with the vocoder, the vocals would be the LEFT MODULATOR?

Steps outlined in the tutorial work on FL7 and FL8. So, if it's not working you missed a step.

Yes. In the modulator track, pan left, then in the associated mixer channel, specify the appropriate in for track input that is associated with your mic. You have to use ASIO drivers. In the help file search for "mixer input" for details on how to rout inputs.
