  • I haven't trapped since the mid 70's and I MISS it. Dad still has all the old traps. #1, #2, #3, spring traps, jump traps, kill traps a few box traps. there rusty but still work. Thank you for this

  • doues mink live in TN and if so were wood i find them

  • this is a good video on what trapping is about

  • Good Video!

  • I think this is a great edgucational video that gives alot of knowledge about trapping and wildlife. great video

  • an honerable and almost lost tradition, most people dont even have a clue that at one time America's major income came from trapping and fur production

  • Canada was setteled by europeans because of it :-)

  • Would a duke 1 1/2 coil spring hold a coyote?

    thanks

  • yes thats what i use

  • the jaw spread might be a little small, i prefer a no. 2 or no. 3 but if i were you i wouldnt try for them in anything smaller than a no. 2, but if 1 1/2 coilsprings are all you have availible they should work fine

  • I bet Chet Hayes knows more about these fur-bearers than many biologists.

  • i set up claymore mines, when the live stock or the family pets get to close to my pet coyote i blow them up long live the coyote.

  • try barnes varmit grenade it should solve your problem

  • hey in my town we have a problem with coyotes killing livestock and pets what do you recommend? i have a ruger 10/22 with nickel plated high velocity bullets think thats good enough?

  • No, get yourself a .223 or similar varmint round. Its a great excuse to buy another gun! I would seriously discourage the use of a .22 and even a .22 mag as they might not make a clean kill. Personally, I use an AR15 and its a great rifle for coyote hunting. Extremely accurate and followups are easy.

  • @luv2spd ... you use an AR15 in what caliber exactly? you do know that the AR15 model is just a particular model right? And that it can be chambered in a variety of different rounds.

  • nah get a 22-250 or if you think about deer hunting get a 243

  • yeh man 243. is a good gun...and iv been looking for a 22-250 for coyote hunting

  • yeah, knock him down them take care of em.. you can easily knock over a coyote with a 22 or 17. If you can pop them in the head, that should do the trick.

  • personall .17hmr with belistic tips to thevitals or head. Haven't not dropped one in one shot yet. But if you have the money .223, or 22-250 work great for long shots.

  • .204 was recommended to me by a guy that deffinatley knows what hes doin. he gets payed to get rid of problem yotes

  • .223 .22-250 and .243 does well too

  • I recommend .223, rounds are cheap and it will get the job done.

  • nope, get a centerfire .22....rimfires dont have the range or power to ethically kill a yote.

  • your wrong about that but most hunters prefer to use a higer caliber that a .22

  • Hey Guys, great video. My grand dad was a trapper in South Dakota for years...very cool to see it continuing. Good luck this winter and thanks!

  • Did he say, "You can take another stake what drive it in the ground?"

  • The Davy Crockett story is priceless, exactly what some young trapper would do.

  • Nice snares you guys! Looks like prime trapping ground.

  • You don't have beavers in Kentucky or can you not trap them?

We have lots of them in WV.

  • do you by any change know any online vids abouth beaver snaring/trapping, cus I live in europe and buying a dvd from the states is kinda expensive

  • Yeah there are some on youtube, but I thought your beaver was having trouble in terms of population. American beavers are very numerous. I don't know if the same methods would apply.

  • yeah, because everybody knows that beavers in Europe are super beasts that are more intelligent than Einstein

  • put more videos on we need to learn all we can from you old guys

  • Nice video...nice educating video for the young also!!!! Keep it up!!!!

  • i love it!
