pretty interesting take on a very challenging (to put it mildly) tune, sounds a bit Gilbert and Sullivan here, the harpsichord works well, ultimately I don't think it really works though. I give her major kudos for even tackling this piece though.

She ain't got nothing on Queen, but I like the creative liberties she takes with it. However, it just doesn't seem to have the soul of the original and while I do like voice cracks, it takes skill to pull them off right (and she does,) she just over-uses them. It's almost like a gimmick. Although she has very interesting falsetto.

This version is for people who dont like moshing lol! But on a completely different level to the original - I dont think anyone will ever beat freddie but this is a good version in its own way. :)

I like her version a little bit better , just because sh'e a girl and I like to song to girls singing better! People should be happy that she did a cover cause she loved them so much it's a tribute , she's not bashing them! artists get inspired by other artists and she just so happens to not only be a trained opera Singer, like Freddie Mercury, but also plays the electric violin! so cu dose!

Love the original of course! <3 Queen. Quite Frankly, I love Emilie's take on it as well. *laughing at complainers* "Doesn't do it justice... doesn't sound like Queen" Uhmm.. an artist doing a cover, making it their OWN is the purpose of a cover.... not to sound LIKE the original. Emilie has infused her style fabulously.

The recording of this is pretty mundane, I will admit.
Live, it's a whole other story. So dynamic and rich and full... This doesn't give her performance justice and it's easy to see why fans of Queen would dislike it.

She ain't got nothing on Queen, but I like the creative liberties she takes with it. However, it just doesn't seem to have the soul of the original and while I do like voice cracks, it takes skill to pull them off right (and she does,) she just over-uses them. It's almost like a gimmick. Although she has very interesting falsetto.

The purpose of a cover is never to improve upon the original but to put a new spin on it.

@AgustinaFigueroa More like she doesn't sing with the particular type of emotion that was put across in this song. That and the fact that its much more hard hitting when a dude hits those fancy high notes. Female singers are expected to hit those high notes, male singers are not.

@AgustinaFigueroa I disagree D:< The original is'nt very well in vocals, don't get me wrong it's a wonderful song, but, I think Emilie has more passion and emotion than Freddy Mercury. Emilie is VERY passionate about her music and that's something that Freddy lacked in his music.
