  • Many of comments in this whole series were horrifically ignorant, especially the guy on the far right. Moderator was OK. The comments from Greg Anderson were great.

  • Looks like Greg Anderson was the only one there willing to discuss "Men As Victims'.

The others apparently reject the notion, and stuck to the "Men As Perpetrators" party line.

  • Not all men are violent, but the statistics of men's violence against women are through the roof. programs put in place because of dv weren't brought on by 'some' men. I love that he's distressed about his privelege to not have to "see the world in that way".

  • @obsday Really? Do you think he is "privileged" not to have to see the world as if man-bashing, misandry, hatred for men and jokes about all men being locked up at night are OK? The vast majority of people - men and women, privileged and unprivileged would probably agree with him. It's easy to slap the label of "privilege" on someone whose ideas you disagree with in an attempt to dismiss them.

  • ...outside their homes at the hands of other men.

I think further research of male victims of domestic violence is worthwhile, as long as, and even with the purpose that it's taken out of the hands of misogynist groups. but the fact is that men are a rare exception to the rule in terms of being victims.

  • The joke about curfews is in reference to curfews that have been put on women around the world including the U.S. (up until the mid-70's, female college students weren't allowed to go out at night or they'd be expelled), in addition to the curfew that's put on us by the threat of rape, abduction, and murder. It was also poking fun at the irony that while these curfews have sometimes been put in place to protect women, women are in danger within their homes, whereas men are in danger....

  • Moderator was really good as was the women next to her

Guy with little goatie was interesting and liked his work

Guy on gay issues was really good, the lesbian lady was ok as well (not her field really)

Older guy was really good (probably the most insightful there)

Asian guy had some good stuff as well about engaging men

Thought policeman was saying what he was expected to say

  • Feminist lady had interesting stuff but had a little bit of a bias

Guy in red on the right was unprofessional and should not have been there

I enjoyed the series but I agree to extent with the interview right at the end I thought there was a degree bias in the room amongst some of the panelist. The other guy they interviewed was worth listening to, I thought he was right. Did not feel they got to the bottom of this subject. Next time perhaps.

  • Did they just dismiss that males cant be victim and if they do say they are their prob lying.

I just love that part when that guys said males should have a curvew and all the women aplauded tell you what kind of ppl they are very biasd but atleast they are talking about it has to start somewhere.

  • They are probaly lying? wow

  • Thanks for posting this series.. It is funny the way the discussion is organized and controlled by people with specific interests in continuing the status-quo when it comes to the "man=bad, woman=good" approach towards domestic violence. The only worse thing they could have done was to invite the ghost of Andrea Dworkin to speak about male victims.
