@NicolaWriter right, the killer was a simple man, a man who lived nearby,he was a butcher, or a doctor... he wasn't a mason... i know it isn't sexy,he wasn't a painter, he was a family man... his initials were J.L.
Cornwell is an arrogant idiot. It is appalling that she named her book 'Case Closed'. There are many people who have spent large portions of their lives studying this case. She studies it for what? Maybe 2 years? Give me a break.
I agree with ShannaMyers about Patricia Cornwell's "Ripper". What I saw in Cornwell's "Ripper" was Ms Cornwell herself and shots of her private jet. If that wasn't enough, she threw in her red Ferrari as well. It became unbareably narcississtic, like an author who wishes to sell us something more than tell us something.
I disagree, however with ShannaMyers' Ripper. I believe it was James Maybrick and I will explain why elsewhere on YouTube.
@Shukria123 wrong, it was a man whose initials were J. L. please investigate,he isn't a sexy suspect, but the truth isn't always sexy...again, J. L. he was a butcher.....he had children...
This theory is just wishful thinking. For all we know JtR could just be anyone and most likely someone completely unknown......not a famous artist, royal, doctor etc etc but just some weird john that like slashing woman to pieces.
This is quite amusing. PC has spent millions on trying to prove the artist Walter Sickert is JTR. I have nes for you Pat, Walter Sickert spent the summer of 1888 from May to mid-November in France and he had witnesses to prove it.
Her book on Jack the Ripper was thought provoking. Of course it does not prove that Sickert was the Ripper. The one thing that bothers me with all the theories on Jack the Ripper is why does he have to be a famous or well known person? Maybe he was just some regular chap that nobody would ever think could muder.
It is interesting to see that so many people are paying attention to the bullshit that Patricia Cornwell's "Ripper" documentary displays. Before this I watched a 1980's that is completely set on identifying Jack the Ripper. I have recorded a panel of 5 international "experts" and a (probably local)poll. What was interesting is that throughout the video the "experts" disagreed with each other's hypothesis, however in the end they ALL agreed it was A. Kosminski. The highest in the poll was Gull...
Yeah, I'm not saying any of them were right. But I did listen closely and the particular FBI Agents that were in the show have worked with England many times before that. And that makes me think, hmm, are they all in on playing the blame game? Because they made no sense by disagreeing throughout the show, then agreeing in the end.
True, but most of those others present their findings as their best opinion, what they think happened and who did it. PC presents it as fact, the only way it could have happened, case closed. That's arrogant and annoying, the more so a her 'research' consists of 99% speculation and fantasy and 1% of evidence, of which maybe 1% again is the result of her own work.
ve watched all of this program now and can't understand why she has only focused on one person? She seems hell bent on putting the blame firmly on him. Why did he stop killing? When Capote wrote 'in cold blood' he became obsessed with the killings. I think Walter Sicket did a similar thing. This program was far less about who jack was and more about how wonderful Patricia is. I was unable to time more than 2minuets in this documentary without someone throwing heavy praise on her and her???
Rumbelow is likely a mason whose specialty is misdirection. Nowhere in Cornwells work does she mention that these were Freemason murders . If laymen can figure that much out, why does she consistently ignore this ? Is she a mason, too ?
Very good point; except that she did not ever prove that Stickert wrote any of the letters, not one. All she found was that, maybe, if they actually had Sickert's DNA (which could not be determined) he was not eliminated from a pool of tens of thousands of other people who could have also written the same letter. So basicially, with respect to the laws of statistics, it's a huge fail for this shallow, self-aborbed fraud of a cunt.
What the fuck is this shit. I remember reading her book ages ago and took it with a grain of salt but this documentary is less about the murders and more about this reporter.
I agree. I just finished reading her book and it appears like she´s milking this story just for her own publicity. Many so called "facts, found out by her" where totally pointless. She could have take ANY person, not only Sickert. I looked at his paintings and didn´t see what she was talking about at all. It really takes MUCH imagination to see what she "detected".
@liten48 now that you said it yes, there is a good reason for that , thats becuase she has this syndrome called , ego sindrome , i want to be seen as the one that is right , above others syndrome , its quite commen for the human ego to want to stand out , and be noticed , being noticed is the primary function of the human ego. wanting to be famous and the center of attention are also functions of the illusionary ego.
@liten48 she has become famous and now she wants tpo be famous for solving the ripper case one of the mosty famous cases in the world if she can get people to belikeve her therory she will get a big boost for her ego.
but she knows nothing , bec uase its not her story to tell , only jack the ripper or his reincarnation has the right to reveal his true identity and that time is coming soon .
she says she wants justice but she dont care two hoots for the victims any more than i do
@liten48 she loves to be recongnised, she loves the fame , she knows the soul of jack the ripper , but she is not conscious of that, jack the rippper killed her many life times ago when the ripper was a whitch hunter , he killed her without trial for being a witch , and he got paid for it , so now she has reincarated and made a fortune from jack the ripper case , as a karmic balance for him taking her money , when he killed her for being a witch
@liten48 she wants justice alright , not for the girls , thats her first lye , she wants justice for her soul becuase although shes not conscious of the fact her soul recongises jack the rippers soul, only she has not learnt to listen to the soul , becuase shes been taught to be anylitical and seek solid proof
and to you i say if you wish to know the answers to lifes truths amist the bullshit you must learn to use your intuition which is a direct link to god
@liten48 no one has ever found the ripper becuase its not there right to reveal his name , they only do it for recongition and attention , she says she wants to bring justice to those girls but she is a liar , she dont care a hoot for them
eddy was the real killer , and he killed to silence then he went mad becuase the spirits of the girls came back to haunt him so he went to see doctor gull and confessed who then told queen victoria who then had eddy put to sleep
AHHHHHH!!!!!!! "hatred towards women" eeeeeeeeeeeee!
this is so terrible, for the purpose of forensics & discovery, you have to disassociate yourselves from your own emotional "inclusions" in the actual story. thats not really gettting inside the killers head at all, thats just being a plain and simple lesbian
why would you depersonalize your victim?
why ELSE would you mutilate the body?`drug craze perhaps ?
it is believed that one of the suspects wives were unfaithful...
@themainthing1974: I agree that Bundy was a psychopath but I don't think Manson was, I just think he is crazy. I think Manson was a self destructive manipulator who used others to do his bidding whenever possible. He is different from the likes of Bundy and the Ripper because they didn't have others do the killings for them.
Nothing Symbolic about the guts is she really that thick, i suppose if someone's drowned on the coast tied to a pier where the tied rises twice a day has no sybolism either.

Because it is a part of reality. If anyone wants to attack this case he or she needs to get into all kinds of areas for facts. Not just theories based on hearsay. This is not a tv-show, this is real life without tip-toeing around what one has to do to come up with conclusions.
Some peoples hatred of gays and women clouds up their perception of how things really are. They become so angry over other peoples opinions that they just call names and spout hate.. their jeolousy of people who work hard and have some respect and success in life is almost comical..hard for some to look in the mirror and see what failures they really are so they lash out at others..and then there are those of us who respect, listen and try to learn from different points of view & love mirrors
Sickert clearly was obsessed with the murders, incorporating Ripper themes in his art work. Art is often a portrayal of the artist's unconscious mind. Of all the books I have read on the subject Cornwall's book makes the most sense...Case closed!!
I don't think it closes the case at all. Sickert may have been obsessed with the case but then again so is Cornwell. From what I've read, including her book, she puts forward a good case that Sickert had an involvement with the letters, but not the crime.
I agree with you. Sickert may have been the person who coined the named "Jack the Ripper,' but he likely wasn't the Ripper. I suspect the Ripper was a proverbial nobody; no records of him beyond a birth certicate or a notation in a Bible, at most.
Glad you're not a murder trial judge, many people would have to be hung clearly because they take a interest in murder. If we are to go with your idea of evidence then lets convict and execute Patricia Cornwell as she seems to have an unhealthy obsession with homicide. See what I did there?
I think it's funny how men focus so much on the fact that she may be gay...and then of course being gay means she hates men...I think it is very telling how this threatens weak, insecure men who know nothing about Patricia but are worried that she knows more than they do..a powerful smart woman always will get this reaction out of these types of people..how sad..
No anatomical skill whatsoever? Wrong! I am an MD and hence I dissected cadavers in anatomy class. Let me tell you, the human kidney is imbedded in fat and is very difficult to find. It requires careful dissection to find a kidney much less remove it. The ripper had knowledge of human anatomy, period!
The ability to appear and disappear suggests intimate local knowledge and being the sort of individual nobody would notice. So it probably wasn't anybody as high-and-noble as Sickert. Nice theory, though.
its a work of fiction you gullible fool. there is NO forensic evidence. Only ripper letters were tested for Mitochondrial DNA which is inaccurate and can only indicate percentages of the population. The ripper letters tested are fakes anyway - the only genuine ripper letter is the From Hell note which wasnt signed Jack the Ripper. All this mad cows research might possibly prove is that Sickert, along with thousands of others, might have sent one of the fake ripper letters! AND he was in France!
Since they use Mitochondrial (sp.) DNA in courtrooms..I wouldn't say that it is inaccurate..and it is not just used for percentage tests...it is used to indicate a female line .like to prove who your mother is...From Hell is the only real letter?? That is obviously not true.. going by things that were said by authorities back then with all the new evidence and techniques used today by forensic specialists is ridiculous. Sickert was in France..you seem so sure..where you there? No? Thought not..
At 5:27 cornwell's ignorance of all things detective shines through by improperly handling the straight razor. Such razors are not gripped in the manner she displays. She has therefore not shown the straight razor to be ruled out; she has only displayed her own ignorance and lack of education in criminal investigations. It is a pure wonderment why anyone would give any of her lunatic ideas any credence whatsoever.
I've read her book on this subject. I think she proves that Sickert fits the profile of someone who would commit the Ripper crimes. He also fits the profile of someone who could have been a "fan" of the murderer. Sickert very well may have been obsessed with painting these horrific events. He may even sent letters. Ultimately I don't think there's anything genius about J the R. Society just didn't have the science to track and capture him. I don't think there is enough evidence to solve this.
I see you replying to many people here - are you Patricia haha? Well Im not against Sickert being Jack - but we have to look realistically and maybe we have some circumstantial and even if he did write the letters most of the police assumed ALL the letters were hoax anwyay (aside maybe from the "From Hell" letter) - but having watched the show and read her book the writing is all she could get - and that was only a mitrocondrial (sp?) dna match - nothing 100% positive....
so let me ask you why you seem so sure she proved more? And if so - what? Yes the drawings were interesting in the holiday comments book - the long nose was similar to Ripper letters etc - supposedly by Walter. I just need more!
I think he fits the FBI profile of a phsociopath (sp?) perfectly.I have read alot and seen alot of shows..he really is the only one of the suspects that fit it so well...makes me think he was very capable of these acts..his long walks thru the night, secret studios, personal locations, fistula issues, artwork, gosh, those drawings from the Inn were creepy, his compulsive letter writing, ability to work with disguises, Mr. Nobody..From Latin word Nemo, his stage name..all too coincidental for me.
And I liked those points too - the dark paintings - the "Camden Town" murder series also - a man sitting on a bed with what appears to lifeless woman - often "disfigured" images on womens faces etc tie in with the physical attacks......but coincidence is all it is. What about the diary by Maybrick? What about Kosminski? What about Gull? There are so many things that could tie in so many people - and with all these suspects there isnt anything truelly substantial to say to me to 100% "Its him"...
Okay...I do admit we will never know 100% that she is right..but I believe her and it feels right to me..and I also agree with what she said about Maybrick..seemed suspicious when I read it ..anyway..I respect what you have to say...thanx..
And right you are. In fact, there is substantial evidence that should say to you 100% that it was not him. He was in France during some of the murders; this simple fact was corroborated not only by his own writings but by several third parties. In other words, unless he had magical powers and flew around on a magic carpet, he could not physically have killed several of the victims.
the fbi profile of the ripper points to a 30 year old local man, working class, employed, regular client of prostitutes. Thats NOT Sickert. Did you know Cornwell is a lesbian crime fiction writer? She hates men and writes fiction. And by the way there is document evidence to prove Sickert was in France throughout Autumn 1888! How do you account for that? I suggest you start again...
You are totally right..except that I am not her..but thank you for admitting that it could be..and I was only asking you and that other guy who is weird. I was just amazed by this work..she has excluded others but not him..so I was just suprised at the viciousnss of some of the people here. None of them are anywhere near her calibur. I believe her..thats all..and what the police knew then seems very barbaric compared to what we can do now with evidence and such..thank you for a mature response.
even though she is not in the medical field it's very interesting what the body has to tell after the body of the victimpr victims have gone

7.02 - she says it like we english eat human kidneys......she is funny. very american.
sadly for all her work all she proved is that MAYBE sickert wrote some of the letters, thats all and she knows it.

But remember...one too many coincidences is too coincidental...

That isn't how you hold a straight razor. It doesn't work like a folding knife. You would hold it just under the blade.
